Holy Crap! As a pretty new fan to MMA I was expecting to see a great fight from Cro Cop after weeks of hype but DAMN, how can I be disappointed when I got to see that knockout. That was just brutal. I couldn't help but think "Gonzaga Wins! The slipper still fits!"

Bisping fight was pretty entertaining too, great thing about UFC is that unlike wrestling, very short matches and very one sided matches can be extremely entertaining.

Needless to say, this kind of screws up UFC's plans for the big Couture/Cro Cop dream matchup in August. If Gonzaga had to win, though, he did it in the absolute best way possible -- not a dull, decision win with grappling, but by dominating the fight and then decimating Cro Cop (Cro Cop!) with a high kick that will make every highlight reel until the end of time.

Where does Cro Cop go from here? Presuming he doesn't need any rehab or surgery on his knee/ankle (man, that fall was nasty), perhaps retirement, as he was hinting a year ago. I couldn't believe the comments from Couture and Rogan about Cro Cop not training in a cage -- that's ridiculous, to me. That's like training for Wimbledon on a clay court.

Bisping is a monster. I think he'll get one more warmup fight and then UFC will put up him against Liddell. You could argue he needs a bit more seasoning, but seriously, Chuck is running out of opponents.

My girlfriend had never seen any UFC and I was telling her all about how good Cro Cop was and how bad ass his kicks were, and he gets his ass handed to him. The rest of the night, toher than Bisping doing good in his home country, was pretty boring though.

Same here. I'm the only person out of 7 of us who gathered to watch the show who had ever seen Cro Cop. I played some youtube highlight videos and talked him up so much that when the fight started everyone was chanting "Mirko's gonna kill you" despite not even knowing who he was a few hours before. I was stunned at Gonzaga's kick, that was awesome.

I'd love to see Bisping vs Fedor someday. They would have a great match.

Ken Kennedy debuted a new finisher: Jeff Hardy fans will insist on calling it the Swanton Bomb, but it looks WAY more devastating when not performed by a 180-pound fruitcake.

I loved the interview with Matt Serra: "I've been fighting such nice guys lately. Chris Lytle, awesome guy, extremely talented guy.Georges St Pierre is a sweetheart of a guy. Matt Hughes -- he is a dick. He's a very talented dick. But, I'm looking forward to the fight. I feel like a winner already, just knowing I get to hit him in his face." I had to pause the TV, I was laughing so loud! :-)

UFC cut one of the intended televised fights from the Spike TV broadcast: Heath vs. Machida. Like the Arlovski and Congo fights, it was pretty boring. I can appreciate fights on the ground which American crowds usually boo, but when they're on their feet and not doing anything, I have a hard time feeling excited.

Gonzaga is a true monster at 7'1" tall, but I won't count out Couture's chances of retaining. Problem is, Gonzaga's a threat both on his feet AND the ground.

UFC has got to speed up their broadcasts. The first fight's promo started 13 minutes before the actual match did. A similar process continued to be the case for all the fights, which is such a waste of time. The bigger the UFC has become over the past couple years, the more I've noticed the pace of the broadcast has slowed.

Too many commercial breaks on the Spike TV show, which was to be expected.

I'd give the show 3/10 thanks only to the Bisping fight, Serra's entertaining nature, and the main event.

That is so true! I'm all for backstory & potty breaks, but this was absurd. I started to watch this in real time, but when *nothing* had happened after 5 minutes, I decided to let the DVR handle it!

My bad. When watching the broadcast, I thought I saw that listed as his height. Upon closer inspection, it was just his record. He's actually 6'2"... quite a difference. But he's still a legit monster!

The big question after all of this... WAS IT WORTH IT?

The UFC obviously wanted the best possible show, hoping to impress new viewers enough that they'll pay for future PPVs. Did this work? Or was it too boring overall? A main event knockout might not be enough when the first 2 hours and 40 minutes featured only one entertaining and competitive fight.

I'm another one who's relatively new to UFC and hadn't seen Cro Cop fight. All the forums I was reading and all the highlights made it seem like he would devastate Gonzaga. Cro Cop seemed to be portrayed like Ivan Drago as this unstopable machine. Then he got KTFO and I was shouting Holy Shiiiit!!! and rewinding it over and over.

That ending made the whole show for me but if I didn't have the DVR I probably would have been ripping my hair out. Too many commercials and too many repeats of the same back stories they've been showing for days. That Arlovsky fight was BORING. I hate that guy and his fangs. The Etim and Bisping fights were fun but I kind of felt bad for Sinosic for being fed to Bisping to make him look good in front of his home crowd.

I'm starting to dig Joe Rogan. "Someone needs to kidnap Cheick Congo and take him to a wrestling camp for 6 months"

'But if one is struck by me only a little, that is far different, the stroke is a sharp thing and suddenly lays him lifeless, and that man's wife goes with cheeks torn in lamentation, and his children are fatherless, while he, staining the soil with his red blood, rots away, and there are more birds than women swarming about him.' All I can say is thank god for Fedor. He is the only thing we can count on in this crazy mixed up world of MMA. Because apparently everything else is just completely upside down. Mirko gets knocked out! GSP gets beaten! Cats and dogs living together! Total anarchy!

I was trying to downplay this as I was thinking it, but watching the preview show I really thought Gonzaga had the eye of the tiger going. I still thought Cro Cop was going to win, but that was about as great as it gets.

And while appreciate the fact that it was free to me, the commercials really disrupted the flow of the UFC. I actually fell asleep after the Bisping match but luckily woke up while Arlovsky was apologizing to the fans.

You guys are wrestling fans and you're *not* taking Sinister Minister? Sheesh. I've never been to the Derby, either. Although most of the people in the infield probably aren't there for the race, really.
