No post on this yet? Very interested to see this show on Saturday, even if it is about the "Montreal Screwjob". Interested to see the new format and where they go next with it. It's the screwjob this week, but what's next? What else are they going to explore? And Mean Gene? Is he going to be the permanent host, or is this just a one time thing? Anyway, it's piqued my curiosity and I'll either watch or tape it on Saturday. Any other thoughts?

I had vague hopes for it, but now, with Schillmaster Gene hosting it, feh.

I'll still give it a look, at least the first week.

Exposing the biz AND pissing on Bret in one fell swoop. Poor Scheme Gene is so feeble, it's kind of hard to watch. All that having been said, I'll watch because I'm a mark for skullduggery and HBK is King Asshole. Or at least, he WAS.

I really don't understand why they bothered rehiring Mean Gene - you could probably get a handful of fresh post-grad broadcast journalists who know as much about wrestling about Mean Gene for 1/3 the cost, and audition those for advancement in the company. Some of Vince's hiring policies are so arcane, it makes me wonder who handles his HR. Oh wait, we know who handles his HR....

WHY re-hire Mean Gene? Okerlund is an interviewing god!

Would you rather WWE went out and hired another "team player"? More Marc Loyd's, and Kevin Kelly's?

Okerlund is THE MAN, and I can't wait to see him stirring up shit. I would have loved him at the pay-per-view last night, hovering about and asking the important questions like "Rob Van Dam, as far as I'm concerned you just blew it! What do you have to say for yourself?"

I'll take Gene over any of the current backstage interviewees, thanks.

No doubt, cfgb. I dig Mean Gene, and I marked out last night when they announced the show. It won't compare to him announcing from a lake and trying to bite Tito Santana's burrito fishbait, though.
They said it's going to be "part 60 minutes, part Behind the Music" so I'm assuming it will have interviews that will break kayfabe and tell the behind-the-scenes stories on some guys.

Some possible topics:
The Sgt. Slaughter/Iraqi angle and its backlash
The steroid trials (yeah right)
Kerry Von Erich
Brian Pillman
Yokozuna
Scott Hall

And finally...

You're not thinking vindictive enough.

To wit:

The Ultimate Warrior's troubles.
The Radicals' arrival in the WWF
Eric Bischoff firing Steve Austin and Sean Waltman and how it helped the WWF

And, now Vince has the rights to the NWA/WCW footage, so an attempt to be "complete" could be interesting.

For example, we could see footage of:

Stunning Steve
Vinnie Vegas/Oz/Master Blaster #2
Ron Simmons -- heavyweight champion
the Smokin' Giant
Jean-Paul Lesveque (sp)
Mean Mark Callous

That is so true, look at Jerry Lynn. Hopefully the WWF fans will already know who Rey is, but trying to establish him first (or any kind of an undercard cruiser roster contending for the belt) can only be a good thing.
