A NY dentist (baddentist.com) is suing Cory Lidle's estate (nypost.com) for $7 million for having the absolute nerve to crash his personal plane into HIS building for no reason whatsoever.

Yeah, the suit itself is not all that out of the ordinary. It was a plane, owned (and possibly flown) by Corey Lidle, and it did cause damage to that building, so his estate should be responsible for paying it.
This quote by the lawyer in the Post article though "There's no excuse for smacking a plane into an apartment building in the middle of Manhattan", to me that's probably not high on the list of things they teach you to say in law school when you're planning to sue someone's ESTATE.
For reasons of creative incompetence, this space will be left blank. Advertising opportunities are avaliable though!!! Contact (Number removed due to pending litigation) for details!
I know this is a few days late, but while I was totally in agreement with the first couple replies here, I just saw on TV that apparently the plane DIDN'T hit this guy's apartment at all.
He lives 13 floors away, the crash didn't inconvenience him at all, and he is apparently just looking at an easy pay-day from someone (or at least, the grieving widow of someone) he figures has money. A few million dollars in the lawsuit are for the "mental anguish" he has had to live with knowing now that a plane hit an apartment like the one he lives in.
AFAIK, no one else is suing (out of the 12 floor radius of people who live closer to the actual crash) and so NOW I share the outrage that I think was meant from the opening post.
I was going to respond but Nag you said it quite well. Until people understand that there are indeed outcomes worse than terror in a country like ours, I fear for our country.
