Three games this week for the North American audience:
- The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64, 1 player, 1,000 Wii Points) - Chew man Fu (TurboGrafx16, 1 - 2 players, 600 Wii Points) - Bio-Hazard Battle (Sega Genesis, 1 - 2 players, 800 Wii Points)
Nothing for me this week, as I have Ocarina on that Gamecube Zelda collector's disc, and I can't say I much care about the rest.
Folks checking the ESRB ratings page report that upcoming titles will probably include Splatterhouse (TG-16) and Zombies Ate My Neighbours (SNES). No idea as to when they're coming out, though.
Also, SSX Blur is out tomorrow. Looks neat. Anyone getting that?
LOVED Ocarina of Time...but if you already own the Gamecube compilation, there's no need to get it. Hell, give OoT: Master Quest a whirl. THAT was awesome!
The Wisdom of Homsar: AaAaAaAaAa! I'm the human wedgie!
My wish list: - pretty much any wrestling game, even the awful ones - Excitebike - Kung Fu - Galaxy 5000, a NES racing game that was kind of like RC Pro-Am in SPACE - Snake Rattle & Roll - Devil's Crush for TG-16 (or Dragon's Fury for Genesis) - Mutant League Football - Mutant League Hockey - Thunder Force II for Genesis even though there are already a million better shooters - Arnold Palmer Tournament Golf for Genesis even though there are already a million better golf games in the world, plus I hate golf - any of the zillion games I've heard great things about but never played, like Zombies Ate My Neighbours (SNES) or Blast Corps (N64)
Originally posted by TorchslasherYep, I'm in the same boat as well with having Ocarina on the LoZ collection. I don't know anything about the other two games.
Now that I have Kid Icarus, I'm thinking about what other titles I want. My current list:
1. Double Dragon 1 and 2 2. Maniac Mansion 3. Wrestlemania 2000 and/or No Mercy
Oh God a list of what we want? That could go on forever, but since you brought it up:
1. Blaster Master 2. Megaman 1, 2 and 3 3. Final Fantasy 1, 2 and 3 4. Metroid....
ok you know what? This list is gonna be far too long to bother with. How about I provide these links and you too can look at the lists of every game for the NES, SNES and N64 and figure it out cause I'm getting a little too excited.
I mean come on. I'm gonna need a stack of memory cards.
Though I should mention when looking at the lineup of games out so far for the Wii I get a little nervous for Nintendo. I mean it's still mostly kiddie stuff and I had hoped while they wanted the whole family to love this system that they would get more adult titles. I guess time will tell.

While they WANTED the whole family to love it, I don't think they were sure they WOULD. Now that the system is out and a wide range of people are playing it and loving it, I think you'll see that reflected in the games. I think the Big N just hedged their bets a bit in the first year.
Starfox, Pro Wrestling, Bases Loaded, and ExciteBike are at the top of my wishlist right now. I'd like to see things like NBA Jam and WWF No Mercy, I think licensing issues will prevent it from happening.

Sega Genesis - PGA golf from 1994 I believe. I loved this game and would play it today, as unrealistic as it is.
Raiden Trad.
That is all.
Not to thread hijack, but has Raiden II been released on XBLA? As far as I remember it's pretty unplayable via emulation because of the way the arcade game was programmed/built, and there has never been a port of it to any system. It was probably my all-time favorite vertically scrolling shooter, and its lack of availability makes me want it even more.
I second the call for Starfox (SNES or 64). Also, any of the Ninja Turtles games from the NES/SNES would rule.

I have a soft spot for the Game Boy version of the TMNT games, and the arcade game, too.
I've seen TWO movies so far this year: Because I Said So - (3*); Borat - (5*)
Yes, it would. And there's also the issue of me being an idiot...since I meant Bases Loaded, not RBI Baseball.
*edits original post*
I remember reading a magazine once (I think Nintendo Power) where they compared the three baseball games for the Nintendo (Bases Loaded, RBI and I can't even remember the other one). I read about how much better Bases Loaded was than the other two. Which one did I have? Of course I had RBI baseball. So now I'm upset that I got the worse game.
It's like having Ice Hockey and then reading about Blades of Steel.
I work in a store that specializes in old video games. When we get slow, we bust out the NES and kill a bit of time with the old sports games. In retrospect, now that the graphics are all insanely dated, Ice Hockey is clearly a way better game than Blades of Steel. It's not even close.
I still prefer RBI Baseball and Tecmo Super Bowl (the sequel to Tecmo Bowl) to any baseball or football game out today. Super Bowl is probably my favorite game of all time.
