I've just managed to join a Mac to our domain, so the user can authenticate via Active Directory. Naturally, this means a new user account was created on the Mac. Is there any way I can copy the desktop settings, favourites etc from the local account to be used by his Network account?
Even if its just providing his network account with access to the other account files so he can copy them to the new account. In windows I could just go to the security tab for the folder I wanted and do it that way, but I don't know if Mac OS X lets you do that?
Thread ahead: Another way to transfer files from one computer to another? Next thread: Video Players & Hot Keys Previous thread: Welcome new F@H user - Finder W!
I really hope this doesn't take off and become common place in the future. The potential for fuckery is too great. But I am sure people are going to get screwed in some way over this.
