One of the main problems with Vince Russo is that he is SO in love with gimmick matches that he has to book one EVERY SINGLE show -- and it's starting to look like every single match on the PPV is going to have a gimmick, as well.

It's just silly that Runt is taking an unprotected chairshot to the head (which busted the back of his head open), a backdrop onto the ramp, and a Border Toss into a ladder (!) in the course of a two-and-a-half minute TV match.

Only other match was a three-minute Roode vs. Rhino match, which Rhino won with a roll-up after Roode was distracted by Ms. Brooks, who had been, it was implied, slutting around. Because that's what women in wrestling do; it's the only possible way that they can get what they want, ever.

PCS skit was amusing even as it belittled the entire division. Senshi continues to no-sell the whole thing.

Eric Young was funny trying to get sex advice (for a "friend") from Jeremy Borash. Borash: "Is your friend a virgin?" Young: "No, he's from Kansas."

VKM promo was interminable.

Joe vs. Angle brawl was goofy -- a plastic "wet floor" sign? Why, that's so hardcore! Again, why Angle is going through a table onto concrete on free TV is totally and utterly beyond me.

I thought last week's show was pretty good; this week's mostly just depressed me.

Yes, great Christian vs Angle match eh? I wasn't crazy about the idea of giving away Christian vs Angle on free TV since it's a potential ppv main event somewhere along the way but since they did advertise it all week I was looking forward to it. I was looking even more forward to it when Christian came out with 20 whole minutes left on the showing making it look like they were actually going to have a nice long match. Instead we get a not very good brawl that just dragged on and I doubt it made anybody more excited about Joe/Angle III.

Yeah the PCS skits might belittle the X Division but they are funny and at this point they are doing so little with the X Division anyway, so who really cares? The one good thing about the skits is that all five of those guys are actually interesting in the skits, I just wish we'd actually get to see them wrestle some. Senshi no selling is great though, I can't wait for him to just explode one day. And by explode I don't mean go crazy and beatdown everyone, I mean actually explode.

A highlight of the night for me was when Nash started singing "Adrenaline rush, adrenaline rush" as one of the musical chairs songs. It's a stupid song, and I'm glad they're making fun of it.

It seemed stupid for Cornette to just let them brawl like that, but I have to say that I don't ever remember seeing that exact situation on a wrestling show before, when the commissioner officially proclaimed that they should keep fighting.

The X Division is (or was) one of the principle things that separated TNA from WWE. Good wrestling, smaller guys, long matches. Now it's a punchline for an over-the-hill wrestler. The whole "it's funny, so who cares?" thing is asinine when applied to WWE, and it's asinine when applied to this. Kevin Nash being amusing isn't going to build TNA a wrestling audience. If they want to take advantage of his charisma, fine. Fire Don West and make him the color guy.

To those who say people wouldn't look; they wouldn't be interested; they're too complacent, indifferent and insulated, I can only reply: There is, in one reporter's opinion, considerable evidence against that contention. But even if they are right, what have they got to lose? Because if they are right, and this instrument is good for nothing but to entertain, amuse and insulate, then the tube is flickering now and we will soon see that the whole struggle is lost. This instrument can teach, it can illuminate; yes, and it can even inspire. But it can do so only to the extent that humans are determined to use it to those ends. Otherwise it is merely wires, and lights, in a box.-Edward R. Murrow

Okay, I change my mind, this idea is better than Nash singing "Adrenaline rush."

Somehow I doubt Nash would be that great at getting guys over as an announcer, he has never seemed interested in getting anyone over except himself since joining TNA (some could argue his whole career). That has basically been his character, that he is only in it for the money. He would be funny, just like in the skits, but in the end, who benefits? No one more than Big Poochie.

He would no doubt be entertaining, but if you are going to put yourself over while on color, you better make sure you are putting over the guys in the ring, like JBL has seemed to have mastered.

I'm not saying they shouldn't build up the X Division again, I loved the X Division. I'd love to see longer matches and see guys like Shelley, Senshi, and Starr used more and I'd love for the current X champ, Christopher Daniels, to be pushed as an equal to the World Champion. All I'm saying is even before Nash came around they already weren't doing anything with the X Division ANYWAY, so it's not like Nash's antics are any different than what they were doing before that. At least we are getting to see personality from all the guys involved while before these skits all we were seeing was a bunch of boring bland guys.

If the PCS skits run long enough and build a following (which funny things are likely to do, and the PCS skits have been fairly consistently funny), then the X-division will reap benefits. The PCS stuff will end eventually, but, as a result of them, the audience can gain an appreciation and an interest in the individual characters that participated. One of the major weaknesses of the X-division has been the generic flavor of a lot of the middle to lower guys within it. We know these guys have the wrestling ability, but, if given workable personalities that draw people in, their matches can become something more than just impressive athletic feats. In pro wrestling, drama and character are equally important, if not more important, to workrate.

And, plus, even if it doesn't "build an audience" or "get people over"...I don't really care. I don't make any money off of TNA. I have no interest in the business side. I don't care what their ratings are. I watch wrestling to be entertained, I find the PCS skits entertaining, hence PCS skits = good. Might I find a fifteen minute Senshi-Sabin match even more entertaining? Maybe. But past history shows they're unlikely to give long, meaningful matches to undercard guys, ESPECIALLY with Russo in charge. If I'm going to watch a lot of skits and short matches, at least Nash and the gang make them fun to watch. If only he could inject himself into the VKM skits to find some redeeming quality in them...

Upon the sight of a yellow and red clad Hogan, street lights and traffic signs spontaneously combust all over the place. Why? Because Monday Nitro is LIVE in Mankato, Minnesota (WHERE?!?).
