Honestly, I only started this thread because if "You complete me." wasn't in the title of this thread, it was going to drive me nuts.

Not as funny as much as plot driven - although "You're PMS-ing pretty hard" had me rolling.

I love this show.

Right there with you. Instantly when the scene opened you know the perfect Dwight moment is coming. The build up for the line was great. The handkerchief, the arm around the shoulders. It seemed that he genuinely cared, then........ "You're PMS-ing pretty hard".

Line of the night.

Nice!

I was actually disappointed with that line. They had a chance to make Dwight seem pretty human, and they wasted it for the "PMS" line. Imagine the weirdness between Pam and Dwight from here on out if Dwight actually WAS the one that was there to comfort her in her time of need instead of setting it up for a punchline.

Otherwise, good episode.

I don't really think they set it up for a punchline, I think they just set it up for "typical Dwight". That is Dwight - he is not about being comforting, sympathetic, or tactful. The only time that he was any of those things is when he had the concussion, and to me, THAT is funny. He just doesn't have it in him, which is what makes Dwight so funny.

The opening was fantastic..."Let the record show that Dwight K. Schrute is now completely nude and is holding a plastic knife to Stanley’s neck!"

The best was Stanley's complete and total no-sell of the joke.
No smile, sigh, or even a look up from what I presume is another crossword puzzle. Stanley is Hardcore!!! (except when it comes to pretzels)

I liked the fact that the Party Planning Committee was put to the test to throw a luau with hours notice.
Did you see Angela shredding green paper to make grass skirts?
Funny.

Michael: I am a victim of a hate crime! I think Stanley knows what I’m talking about…

Stanley: That’s not what a hate crime is…

Michael: Well I hated it! A lot!

Ahhh, thank you. I was trying to figure out if she was making confetti. Grass skirts make way more sense.

Another great episode ...

I loved how Pam was trying to avoid any detail on Michael's trip.

I guess the question I had at the end of the show was does Jan know about the e-mailed photo or not?

OK, I was "surfing" and missed why Pam was crying... Why was Pam crying.
Oh, and I loved the PMS line... I really don't want Dwight to be be human, unless of course he gets another concussion!

See, I think it still accomplished making him more human. Regardless of the PMS line, he was comforting her. It was more of a "hey, he's still Dwight, but he at least made an attempt to comfort her." He comically mis-read the situation, but the intent was still there.

The PMS line was funny, but what had me rolling in that whole scene was when he removed his jacket with us assuming he'd put it over Pam, only to tie it around his own waist and say "...hot in here." C'mon, that was CLASSIC!

I assumed it was due to her giving Jim advice on his relationship with Karen.

Exactly. He was genuinely concerned for Pam. WHO DID THIS TO YOU? Best line of the show as far as I was concerned.

Second best wasn't "you complete me" but Jan's mild panicked reaction to that.

Michael and Toby's brief meeting had me in stitches.

"I had the picture emailed to me nine times...including from my ex-wife."

I didn't understand Darrell finding his iPod and speakers and saying "this is the best week of my life." Was that referring to an earlier episode?

The whole "You're PMS-ing pretty hard" was good but what made that joke was Pam's face right after he said it. It was as if she was thinking "Man you almost had it"!

The "I'm cutting off Phyllis' head with a chainsaw" moment killer was pretty great too.

first of all, I literally just caught up on the whole show in the last two weeks watching the first 2 seasons and everything til "A Benihana Christmas". This show is awesome.

Aside from the great Pam/Dwight scene and "You complete me", we can't overlook Angela's petting zoo reply to Phyllis. Phyllis' horrified reaction was priceless and Angela's straight-forward delivery was perfect.

That was just Dwight's way of caring, he just isn't very good at it. The jacket pat was funnier than the PMS line, even though that was pretty good too.

There definitely needed to be a laugh there, as the sight of Pam crying was shocking, it made me want to slap Jim around. The Office isn't about to bust out "a very special episode" on us, and I think that is a big reason why we all like it.

No Kelly and no Ryan...? For shame. In fact, I didnt' see her anywhere during the episode.

That was a really abrupt way to remove Hannah from show.

I can understand and accept product placement in TV shows, but what exactly was the point in Darryl's celebration that he found his ipod and speaker set? I mean, it wasn't mentioned before in any prior episodes. Unless...it was lost during the Boys and Girls episode, when Michael wrecked havoc on the warehouse. Even then, though, I don't recall anything being mentioned of its disappearance.

I'd be interested in seeing the pictures of Jan and Michael.

Oh, and according to a production member's MySpace blog entry (myspace.com), Ed Helms learned to play the steel drums in an hour. Check out the link, but be warned, the formatting sucks.

Great episode over all, can't wait to see next week's!

Okay- you W's have certainly made me see your side of the Dwight point. It's just that the show tries so hard to keep everyone believable and "real-life," and Dwight seems to be the exception, as he's becoming more and more like a cartoon character. I mean, what person believes he's getting messages from the future version of himself on a fax machine? Not that it isn't funny of course, but sometimes it's just hard to believe.

The fact that Dwight is gullible enough to believe the fax thing is funny as hell.

If you place the concept of receiving faxes from the future against some of the newer age beliefs and alternate religions, such as Scientology, the concept of receiving faxes from the future isn't as hard to believe. Then again, I don't believe any of that stuff. The BACK TO THE FUTURE series made the concept of alternate timelines seem believeable.

I am enjoying Dwight coming out of his shell and showing his human side. Holding Angela's hand during the Benihana episode, and then comforting Pam the next...it's touching.

The Darrell/iPod deal confused me too. I guess it might have meant nothing but I am just not used to that from this show.
