In no way do I try to defend DX, as they are 2 of the more selfish stars ever. But I have never been in the camp that once a star reaches the age of 35, he should just start jobbing and never get the big win. Just look at the guys in Japan, where guys like Kawada, Misawa, Kobashi, Muta, and Tenryu are still pushed well into their 40s. If they can still go, they can still go. I don't think that the older top guys should just be jobbed out, because they quickly lose the value of their rub.
But tapping out to Angle at Mania is, in fact, a huge job, and Shawn (and HHH) have done more than their share of high profile jobs at Mania. I think it is the 364 days in between that are a problem.
The WWE has had this Even Steven booking for so long, it is nearly impossible for anyone to get over like HHH or HBK are. That's a big problem for guys like Carlito, Shelton, Nitro, and Conway, to name a few. They are never given a chance to go over the top and middle tier guys consistently like they need to to get over. That's not all DX's fault, even if they do have influence over the booking. The bottom line is always Vince. Nothing happens on TV that he does not okay. So just like he always likes to take the credit for success, he needs to take the blame for this.
Dean! Have you been shooting dope into your scrotum? You can tell me! I'm hip!
Seeing how there's a lot of K-Fed love at the moment, there's a (possible) chance he might make some more appearances in the near future, seeing how he's not taking part on Celebrity Big Brother in the UK.
Originally posted by DJ FrostyFreezeI dont think Kurt was complaining about HHH/HBK holding HIM down (because he was clearly not ever held down in anyway), but it's not like he couldnt see what was going on around him.
That's basically it. It's worth mentioning that Kurt's not exactly the most lucid or trustworthy opiner these days, but I also certainly believe he thinks Hunter and Shawn were too selfish while he was too selfless. He complained specifically about them burying others wrestlers in production meetings, including going all the way back to the love triangle angle with Stephanie in fall 2000, when Hunter got out of getting cuckolded and Steph turning on him. Kurt also said Hunter argued against Angle winning the belt the first time, saying he wasn't good enough to be world champ yet.

I know how it happened, I still don't like it. IMO it shouldn't have happened at all. A belt shot is not enough for me to accept a K-Fed win. I'm not a big fan of Cena by any means, but Cena has appeared tougher than that too many times. I just feel the whole thing got a little too David Arquette. Just not as believable :-)
Looks as though Chill got it right......
Originally posted by chillI believe the logic behind K-Fed beating John Cena is that WWE is hoping, praying, wishing, and holding their breath that the MEDIA will pick up on this and give them free coverage. Way to be a media whore in the lamest way. At least when WCW did it with guys like Jay Leno, it was... well, it's Jay Leno - a lot of people watch his show.
I was watching Leno last night (Tuesday), the Federline win made his monologue. Something along the lines of "K-Fed beat the Champ. Nice way to try and prove wrestling is real." (quote not exact). The media coverage begins. Too bad a lot of people watch Leno.

This past Monday, however, over 2.5 million new viewers tuned into WWE’s flagship show. In total, Raw reached nearly 9 million people on New Year’s Day, making it the highest rated episode since the summer.
Hopefully, this means more Federline in the future.
Their number might still be accurate though. I didn't see any part of the WWE's site (unless I missed it of course) that said viewership in the States went up 2.5 million people.
I assume they got their world-wide numbers in from the show and overall, 2.5 million more people tuned in. Still Misleading though.
Can you really get worldwide numbers that fast? When it takes them 3 days to get US numbers (albeit on a holiday week) and almost all international airings are tape delayed later in the week and probably a whole host of things...I guess it's possible, but it doesn't seem likely.
What probably went down here is one of the quarter hours - either the first or the over run - was way above everything else and way above normal.
Say if the open usually does about a 3.5 rating point and this week K-Fed vs Cena brought in 2.5 million people, that's about 2.3 more rating points - they did a 5.8, which they haven't done for a quarter hour in quite some time. Since the overall rating is 3.9, it also means that most of those people who tuned into see Cena/K-Fed tuned into something else soon after it was over. Still, if they retained, say, a quarter million (I'm guessing at all these numbers) of people who liked what they saw or had nothing else to watch with MNF over and can convert some of those into buying PPVs, this was great.
Raw reached nearly 9 million people on New Year’s Day
This is a misleading stat, but one that's used often to artificially inflate viewer totals. What they're actually saying here is 9 million people watched at least a couple minutes of the show. For many of those 9 people, it only be those couple of minutes, but that's long enough to register. It may mean they watched the last bit of the K-Fed match, it may mean they watched a little of something else when the show they were watching was at break.
Now that the brand split has been long forgotten, I am getting tired of seeing the same wrestlers on both Raw and Smackdown. I don't really need to see the same guys wrestle on both shows.
