White Christmas? Yes or No?

I am sitting here in the middle of central Maine, about as far north as you can be and still be in the continental United States. We are going to be having the brownest Christmas ever. It was freakin' 48 degrees today. No snow forecast in the foreseeable future, either.

My kids are not fond of the brown, mucky Christmas, by the way.

So, my answer to the title question is No.

Out west, the answer is the typical "No." The forecast calls for rain on Christmas day.

latest is we will have flurries on Christmas day. Nothing that will stick though.

I fly out the next day to Maryland to see my kids, so I hope it does not snow at all.

Around 50 with late day showers. If it could be like this all winter, I'll be very happy. A day without snow is a wonderful day. So, no White Christmas here.

It's really weird around here. We've had no snow on Christmas before, but usually, at least several inches would've fallen by now. As I sit here, it has not snowed ONCE since I got home from college (on the 12th), so most of December has been green. It's never been this dry before.

It's been in the high 40s all week, but could snow on Tuesday or Wednesday. A day or two too late. For me, I'd like there to be snow for Christmas, but that's all the snow I care about having around me.

I don't recall having ever had a Christmas without snow, but this year may be the one ....

We had some freezing rain on Friday night (I imagine the last minute shoppers weren't happy!), but it was all melted again by this afternoon when I went to pick up some groceries for our Christmas dinner.

We've had all of ONE snowfall that's stuck so far, but by "stuck" I mean "it stayed on the ground for a week tops before melting".

Very, very odd weather. (I trust that God understands that these are NOT complaints!)

My Wii's Forecast Channel seems to think we might have snow (flurries?) on Christmas morning, but none of the local weather guys seem to agree.

Well, it's about 60 degrees outside now, so my guess is no.

No; I think I heard something about a white day-after-Christmas with a storm system developing here, but it will most likely be all rain since we've had weather in the 40s.

Nope, it's a brown Christmas here in Calgary. It's supposed to get up to 6C (about 42F) on Christmas Day.

In Santa Barbara.... no.

At my folks' new house in Utah.... usually no, although sometimes a light dusting that sticks around for a half day does occur.

Nope, but we did have to travel through snow on the way here yesterday, so that may count.

I believe it will be snowing in the pass on the way home, though.

Just poked my head outside, and in a stunning surprise, no White Christmas in Phoenix (although we did have a killer fog a couple days ago, a rare treat)

And y'all are just skimming over this, but fog is not a thing that we get here!!! Very cool for us!

(BTW, a tasty, albeit unusual-looking beverage I was offering at our Solstice Party last Friday: Hypnotiq liqueur & guava juice (preferably Kern's). Makes a fabulous lavendar grey colour, & tastes rather like Hawiian Punch. I call it a Sausalito Fog, since it's exactly the colour of too-early-in-the-morning when I lived up there on the houseboat.)

Christmas was sunny, 40 and breezy with a wife getting over a stomach virus passed around at work. I think in 16 Christmases here one was white. Back in NE Ohio during my youth, about half were white (well sooty white with all the coal furnaces, just like A Christmas Story.).

All it takes is a short drive west (okay, seven hours) to Castlegar, BC. It snowed and snowed and snowed on Saturday and Sunday. The drive back to Calgary today was a little harrowing over one of the passes, but it made for a picture-perfect Christmas.
