Serious DX is a world of difference upgrade over Hilarious DX but they made up for the missing cringe-inducing unfunniness with Cryme Tyme. I see your old people talking like black people and I raise you Mexicans talking like black people!
Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas as the latest team to be put back together does warm my heart. But Shelton just needs to chillax and laugh, Cryme Tyme is havin' fun!
Cena and Estrada are good talkers. It's weird that the same people who can put together something as straightforward and effective as the Cena/Umaga feud can be as clueless elsewhere. Not that it's the precise same persons, but, you know.
The opening segment was okay, but had the usual dumb jokes....Finally, they acknowledge Piper and his cancer. And nice to do a tribute match, even though it WAS the Highlanders....They continue to build Victoria as a killer again, like she should be portrayed all the time, instead of whenver they need a challenger for the title....I STILL don't know what to think of that Cryme Tyme video. At least Shelton does!....
Benjamin/Crazy was good, but too short. Not sure about the Haas thing, but they sure left that early to see Cena backstage....Man, if they don't want Cena to even break the master-lock, I wonder who will?....At least they did something to make Viscera/Carlito mean something. The match wasn't good....
I'll just have to assume the chicks were kissing- their hair was in the way, so you didn't see much....The Val/Eugene segment was interesting. At least they finally found something for Venis, and he could fight Eugene next week....Good main event, but I thought DX shouldn't have buried Kenny so early. I know, crazy thing to say.
Does the fact that I find the heels more logical in their thinking (at least lately) just mean that I am not in the target demographic? For instance, I agree with Shelton, think Viscera didn't really do anything wrong, and think Cena is a brat. I guess I am just not cool enough to get it.
(edited by ges7184 on 4.12.06 2304) The Bored are already here. Idle hands are the devil's workshop. And no... we won't kill dolphins. But koalas are fair game.
I really enjoyed tonight's Raw. It set into motion some rather interesting events, such as what the hell is going to become of Kenny(who I like) and the WGTT reunion.
However, I couldn't take the DX promo too seriously since a year ago Triple H was dead set on destroying Ric Flair.
-Lance Cade needs to find a look and stick with it. Nice way of the Highlanders to pay tribute to Piper though.
-Kind of surprised to see Kenny back on Raw so soon. Not that I didn't think he'd be back on, but surprised it was a week after he was in the crate to OVW.
-I liked the Cena/Umaga parts, and think it could really work out. The security scrum made it feel big.
-Good to see Victoria back as the crazy bitch she plays so well. Her "Kill Bill" list is a nice touch too, too bad she didn't have more than 4 names to put on there.
-Every week we keep seeing the Hardys together, I'm really starting to wonder if the rumor about them staying together is true. Nice move with them kind of inverted pancaking one of the MNM guys.
-The Cryme Tyme gimmick was bad, but since it led to Shelton Benjamin getting some air time and some ring time, it works out. The Haas part was confusing, but i'm guessing that's exactly what they were going for.
-Ron Simmons and Stone Cold...the only guys I could think of to make one word so damn popular. Damn! What? Damn!
-All in all, I thought it was a pretty good show, and looks to be goin in some new direction, and to get Super Crazy and Shelton back involved somehow isn't a bad thing.

That was I was thinking during all the DX stuff tonight. Weren't people in general disgusted with what HHH did to Flair the same way they're disgusted with Edge and Orton now? I remember HHH bloodying Flair with the sledgehammer, which is pretty much as bad as giving him a conchairto. Now HHH is outraged at them, stopping the jokes and getting serious for the first time in months, for doing essentially the same thing he did.
It's wrestling, I know, and alliances change all the time, but still.
The date on the thread should be 12/4, not 12/2. Not a big deal, but I figured I'd point it out.
Victoria and the checklist gimmick are tremendous. Bring back t.A.T.u. now!
Cena and Umaga are awesome right now, PLUS we know they can have a super match (no, not the recent one, the one from the summer). Bonus.
Also, there's no inconsistency with Triple H. He destroyed Flair last year cause he had to...it was out of love. He never hated Flair. Something like that.
Boy, those Hardys sure might be something one day. It's so nice of DX to lend them their star power and "give them the rub," as we say, isn't it?
I enjoyed the Piper tribute match more than I thought I would. I don't know if it was because it was for Piper, but all four men seemed more fired up than they usually are.
Lethal Victoria = good.
While I'd be happy to see WGTT back together, it's still a step down for Shelton, who -- lest we forget -- debuted on Raw as the guy who beat Triple H not once, but repeatedly.
"The object of persecution is persecution. The object of torture is torture. The object of power is power. Now do you begin to understand me?"
It'd be a step down for Shelton if he hadn't spent the last six months being jobbed out, missing PPVs and generally doing nothing of note.
Good Raw tonight.
To those who say people wouldn't look; they wouldn't be interested; they're too complacent, indifferent and insulated, I can only reply: There is, in one reporter's opinion, considerable evidence against that contention. But even if they are right, what have they got to lose? Because if they are right, and this instrument is good for nothing but to entertain, amuse and insulate, then the tube is flickering now and we will soon see that the whole struggle is lost. This instrument can teach, it can illuminate; yes, and it can even inspire. But it can do so only to the extent that humans are determined to use it to those ends. Otherwise it is merely wires, and lights, in a box.-Edward R. Murrow
Did Shelton say educlated? Find someone to talk for him and just let him shine in the ring. And, it has been Stinger Splash for 20 years JR, don't try changing the name to Shelton Splash now. Haas and Benjamin together could be fun though. At least it gets Haas away from the former King Mabel. And, they are really desperate to keep Cryme Time as far away from a wrestling ring as possible, aren't they? So, Shawn took the Anti-Retard pills this week? Kenny outside the Spirit Squad garb has a resemblence to a young Owen Hart. Has anyone ever seen Shawn Stasiak and Chris Masters together at the same time? Time to put Masters in a box to OVW. They really are going to force me to watch Boise State/Oklahoma on New Years Day by going through with the abortion of a match. Though, it would be funny if Vince had Ross badmouth the bowl game that is going head-to-head with RAW that night. Val Venis is still employed? Eugene needed to steal Lawler's crown when he went near the announce table, thus he would have been King of the Special.
I thought Raw was pretty good. I agree that HHH's intensity about Flair was odd but that is nothing new with wrestling that picks and chooses which past they remember. Also I really hope that they are going to rehabilatate the tag division. Tag wrestling is (usually) better than singles wrestling and there is hope that someone might become a main eventer like Edge. Look at Chris (fucking) Masters. If he had been in a tag team at one time (for more than 4 weeks) maybe he would only suck instead of being a blackhole of crappiness.
Marge I am just trying to get into heaven not run for Jesus.
Can they make Chris Masters any more of a tool? Not only does DX make him look like a fool multiple times, but he taps out to his own finisher? Not that I'm a huge fan of the guy, but you gotta at least feel a little for him.
Geez, I hate Cryme Tyme more & more every week. I wasn't a fan of these skits when Los Guerreros did them, but at least it was somewhat entertaining.
I'm all for the Hardys being back together, but I'm getting tired of the blurring of the lines when it comes to the brand extension. Is Matt a RAW superstar now? I though MNM was a "one night only" thing? So is Joey Mercury on RAW now too?
Yes, Shelton did say "educlated." Poor Shelton. I like the guy. And even though he still isn't the greatest on the mike, he's gotten much better.
I'm thrilled to see the banishment of Dancetoria and the return of Crazy Victoria. Is it too much to hope that they give her L7's "Shitlist" for theme music? Probably. But it would be awesome.
As an added bonus, Trevor Murdock kept his shirt on. I think we all owe the Powers That Be a big "thank you" for that.

Nope, it just means the writers are bad at thier jobs.
Do you people really think that this company that doesn't give a shit about it's tag team division are really gonna put Benjamin and Haas back together? Shelton will OBVIOUSLY give Charlie Haas a beatdown in the next two weeks and join up with Cryme Time. It goes along with that whole 'putting ones eggs all in one basket' thing.

It is too much and it would be awesome. I'm sure WWE could get the song quite cheap.
"educlated"? Damn, it's always one step up and 2 steps back with Shelton.
With MNM and the Hardyz reunites, and an apparent reunion of TWGTT, the tag division is taking a turn for the better lately. Good.
I agree that serious DX is much better than wacky DX. And anytime HHH stays off the mic is fine with me.
Technically you could say that a year ago, HHH wanted to prove to Flair that he should retire, but when Flair beat HHH, he proved him wrong. I know that is a bit transparent, but it makes sense that he has regained his respect for Flair after their feud.
Dean! Have you been shooting dope into your scrotum? You can tell me! I'm hip!

Or we could just write this off as the WWE not giving a shit about continuity or story lines and also thinking htey know way more than their fans. This seems a lot more plausable.
...that motherfucker is always spiked with pain.....
The amount of talk on this show just continues to amaze me. I know Raw has always been light on wrestling for the most part, but it's a lot of time to give up to barely move that much forward.
Is this a flicker of hope of the WWE becoming interesting again?
I only got to catch the second half of the show and boy did I liked it.
-DX pretty good but even with turn for HHH, to join HBK, I also kept thinking of him trying to take out Flair after his turn on Flair to make it "personal" like the continued emphasize by HBK
-Is the WWE actually taking an interesting in tag teams again? I crossing my fingers this could be the return to some kind form of tag team wrestling. Smackdown has had a good division in past months but even it's had it pitfalls.

Yeah, I caught that one. It was pretty sweet for them to bust that out.
-WGTT reunion should work out well. I hope the rebuilding of tag teams is not a short term thing as mainly why I'm posting...please for the love of God and everything holy let them build something good from this pretty good show.
