Amy "Lita" Dumas wrote on her MySpace page that she was disappointed with how WWE treated her in her final segment at the Survivor Series. Her comments:
"So, to say I was dissapointed with my final moments with WWE is quite an understatement. It was comforting to read all your comments and emails when I got home. I appreciate that you were able to see I did my best in the situation that was handed to me to give you guys an entertaining match and play along and be a professional with the other stuff that went along with my "big farewell night".
"BUT......... that's NOT why I am writing. If that were why I was writing it'd probally be about 10 pages long and with a bunch of ****s and capitol letters. But I don't want to think about negative things because I have a killer story for you guys. It has absolutely nothing to do w/ the Luchagors, but I have nowhere else to write about this, so until I do, .... here I am!!
"So my mom and step dad came to the show. I planned on getting a low key bite to eat w/ them and Adam (edge, duh). So Adam said he knew of a place that we could still grab some grub that late and we were gonna meet my folks there. I walk in to this loungey bowling alley where we have the top floor reserved and all the guys and gals of the WWE are there yelling SUPRISE! except Carlito, who is singing Happy Birthday... So, were bowling, eating, drinking and stuff when Adam makes an announcement for everyone to have a seat. Out comes the cake (@which time Carly, again, starts singing Happy Birthday ) and a video starts playing where all the guys and gals start saying a bunch of really sweet mushy stuff. Adam had planned this whole thing out, .... pretty cool huh? I havent even got to the good part............ So this video is playing and who is the last person on the video wishing ME well in my retirement??....................f**kING PEE WEE HERMAN!!!!!!!!!!!
"So my last TV moments werent perfect, but Adam could not have pulled anything cooler and I felt pretty damn special to have such cool friends and to hear PEE WEE HERMAN say my name to me. I am still in shock. You guys are awesome, I'll be in touch soon, but if you need me, I'll be in my living room w/ my message from Paul Reubens on loop. Pee-Wee rules, and so do you guys. ----------------------------------------------------------
I wonder if Matt was there.
Looks like Lita and Edge are still an item. Last I had heard was that Edge was trying to get back together with his wife.
Carlito sounds like a really funny guy to hang around with.
That looks like pretty much a cut'n'paste of the report from the Torch (pwtorch.com) with the exception that the actual link to the MySpace page has been removed. So here it is again!
I think she's being a touch oversensitive here. I can remember Chris Jericho being dragged out of the arena throwing a temper tantrum and pleading for his job, which was a total emasculation of his character. He didn't post a whiny MySpace entry about it. At least her send-off was entirely in keepign with her established character. And she was a heel when she left. I doubt she'd have got a standing ovation from the fans even if WWE had set her uup for one.
Then again, Lita's always been a touch emo.
To those who say people wouldn't look; they wouldn't be interested; they're too complacent, indifferent and insulated, I can only reply: There is, in one reporter's opinion, considerable evidence against that contention. But even if they are right, what have they got to lose? Because if they are right, and this instrument is good for nothing but to entertain, amuse and insulate, then the tube is flickering now and we will soon see that the whole struggle is lost. This instrument can teach, it can illuminate; yes, and it can even inspire. But it can do so only to the extent that humans are determined to use it to those ends. Otherwise it is merely wires, and lights, in a box.-Edward R. Murrow
My favourite part was the fan-girlish glee over Pee Wee Herman. Seriously, I think for five bucks and a hot meal, I could have Paul Reubens not just record a birthday message, but bake a cake, hang streamers and wash my car as well.

Au contraire. If Lita had really sold her loss (even after theme musics had played) and slowly got up . . . she may have received a pop.

Seemed to work for Scott Hall.
The problem with that comparison is that Amy Dumas alienated herself to a lot of fans with her involvement in the Matt Hardy-Edge thing outside of the ring. I would say that WWE fans' dislike of her goes beyond just their dislike of the Lita heel character.

If memory serves, the whole thing was Jericho's idea.
Considering the stark contrast of how Trish's departure was handled and how Lita's departure was handled within a couple of months of each other, I can see why Lita may be a little sore about the whole thing. She had to job for both Trish's departure and her own. And then she didn't only job, but they further humiliated her with Cryme Tyme. It may not have seem so bad in isolation, but once again given the stark contrast with how Trish was handled, it is hard to imagine that Lita is leaving on as good of terms
The Bored are already here. Idle hands are the devil's workshop. And no... we won't kill dolphins. But koalas are fair game.

But as the OSH said Lita is a heel. Trish was a face. Faces go out on top with a standing ovation (except for JR). Heels go out with humliation. Personally I think Lita should thank her lucky stars that she got to ride Edge's coattails for the past year and actually do something somewhat meaningful instead of the rest of the women's division.

I can understand that. But then again, some of those people need to get a life.
The "You screwed Matt" chants died a long time ago.

I don't think that's necessarily fair. Edge and Lita made each other over the last year. When Edge came back, everyone (including MANY people on this board) whined and complained that he was boring and weren't buying him at all.
I'd say it was more cyclical. Lita sticking with Edge and the gimmick-storyline part of the whole Matt/Edge/Lita business helped to make Edge a better heel which in turn helped Lita stay relevant. Even though Edge is pretty established now, I think he would have had a more difficult time getting to where he is without Lita.

Yeah, but shit happens. People get entangled in little love dramas all the time, sometimes married people too. It's not pretty but it's life. I'm no feminist, but that Edge got a world title out of their mutual wrongdoing and Lita got all her accomplishments and sacrifices overshadowed to "slut" chants says someting about the society we live in.
Bottom line, it was none of our business to begin with.

I have a bad memory, but I can't think of any faces or heels that went out without having to do the "time-honoured tradition" of jobbing. Trish only went over because it was her hometown (maybe), and, much more significantly, no one in WWE gives two shits about the women's division or the women's title. They could slop a tourney together (and did) and no one will feel anything has been devalued, because there's nothing to devalue.
No man will ever be retiring as WWE Champ, rest assured.
And as Whattaburger pointed out, they helped each other. Edge probably would not have gotten the title if he didn't boink Lita behind Matt Hardy's back. Management had shown little faith in him as a top hand before that incident. I'm not saying that was justified, mind, especially in a company that made JBL the Champ for what seemed an eternity, but it's worth noting. JR often says a heel would screw anyone to get what he wants, but with Edge, because of this affair, we can actually believe it.

It's really just a reflection of the fact that probably something like 90% of wrestling fans are men, so they're going to pat the guy on the back and demonize the girl.
Regardless, I wasn't trying to say that I agree with the fans who chant "slut" at Lita because she cheated on her boyfriend. I couldn't care less what professional wrestlers do in their personal lives. Just trying to point out a possible reason why Lita had no chance of being given a standing ovation Monday night. :)

Wrestlers like to have fun too, and bowling is fun - maybe Lita loves to bowl? What would you have suggested them renting out - a Bar - maybe they didn't want to "just drink".
It sounds fun and nice to me.
We'll be back right after order has been restored here in the Omni Center.

Also, there are pretty upscale bowling alleys these days. I have been to ones where it is pretty much a nice lounge, dress code, cocktail waitresses, etc. but they also happen to have bowling. I would guess it was more of that kind of deal.

Usually it's something along the lines of the fans chanting "Hey, hey, hey, goodbye!" It's usually not a long skit from other wrestlers about how much of a slut that person was.
Re: bowling alleys. The promotion company I work for books show out of a bar in a bowling alley/skate park. It's a giant complex. We can get a few thousand people in there. If you're ever in Pensacola, look it up. It's the Phoenix X-Park. Good place to party. I'm sure it was a rocking time.
Re: Lita's farewell. I dunno, I think she's gotten a bad rep from online fans due to Matt Hardy being a whiny bitch but I think we're probably conjecturing about how WWE feels about her. I don't think her send-off was any sort of "revenge" or "punishment," it's the simple fact that very few people get respectful send-offs. Lita has a right to be a little hurt by it, it was embarassing and the reason she's leaving is she was hurt by the whole "slut" stuff but it's what the company does. That WAS her gimmick. I don't see it as a malicious personal attack that some are saying it was. That was her gimmick. If she comes back in a year, she'll be pushed just as much and be just as high profile.
Before we get started (and mournfully acknowledge that Prime is down just 6 episodes), I had mentioned at the end of the Nitro-cap that I wanted to discuss the Giant’s turn a little.
