Once football season is over, the NBC schedule will undergo a bit of tweaking. The new schedule, with effective dates, is below (All times Eastern):

Sundays

7-8: Dateline NBC (Starting Feb. 11)
8-9: Grease: You're the One That I Want (Starting Jan. 7. The first two episodes will run from 8-9:30)
9-10: The Apprentice (Starts Jan. 7, the first two episodes will run 9:30-11)
10-11: Crossing Jordan (Starts Jan. 21)

Mondays

8-9: Deal or No Deal
9-10: Heroes
10-11: Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip

Tuesdays

8-9: Dateline NBC (starts Dec. 26)
9-10: Law & Order: Criminal Intent
10-11: Law & Order: Special Victims Unit

Wednesdays

8-9: Friday Night Lights (starts Jan. 10)
9-10: Deal or No Deal (starts Jan. 3)
10-11: Medium

Thursdays

8-8:30: My Name Is Earl
8:30-9: The Office
9-9:30: Scrubs
9:30-10: 30 Rock
10-11: ER

Fridays

8-9: 1 Vs. 100
9-10: Las Vegas
10-11: Law & Order

Saturdays

8-9: Dateline NBC repeats
9-11: Drama Series repeats

The one newcomer, "Grease" is a reality series looking to cast the lead roles for a new Broadway production of Grease set to premiere in summer 2007.

There are two other drama series- Raines, and The Black Donnellys- that will be added to the schedule at some point in the spring. The Black Donnellys was slated to take ER's slot during the winter, but it looks like those plans have changed.

The one change I'm surprised that they didn't make was getting Studio 60 out of the Monday at 10 slot. It is just bleeding viewers, as has been said in many places, and it really can't hold any of the audience from Heroes. It may have done better in the Wednesday or Friday at 10 slot.

Hey -- at least 1v100 is still on.

That said, if I were Kevin Reilly, I'd move Heroes to 10p (yup, have the 'nads to put it up against Horatio) and put Reege and America's Got Talent at 9p. For some reason, every time NBC has either gone game at 8p into game at 9p, it's grown on the lead-in (see: two-hour DoND's, DoND into 1v100). Common sense would predict that AGT would/could fit well out of DoND into Heroes. That way, you've at least shored up three decent 11p news lead-ins.

That, or I'd put Crossing Jordan on Mondays, since you could go for a Kring double-dip there.

I know it's not cancelled, but Studio 60 at 10p Mondays is not cutting it either.

Wednesday at 10 is a better bet for Studio 60, so they can do a switch with Medium. CSI:New York isn't as strong as the other CSI shows, so they can probably at pick up some viewers. Plus, maybe there's some residual Wednesday night magic left over for Sorkin from West Wing.

I still question the logic of putting all your best comedies into the Thursday night warzone, when other nights (i.e. Wednesday) are ripe for the picking.

Two words: AD REVENUE.

Ads cost more on Thursdays due to increased viewership.

Interesting in that 'Heroes' will be going head-to-head with '24' ...

But it's a reality series to cast a Broadway show. That sounds fantastic as long as it's a true look at the process and not a series of disc-jokey contests to weed out the hopefuls. This could be a true-life version of "Chorus Line."

If Variety (variety.com) is to be trusted, it looks like the plan is to run Studio 60 through February, and then give The Black Donnellys the Monday at 10 slot.

It's worth noting that plan would leave 4 episodes of Studio 60 unaired, if Donnellys can put together a decent showing on their 13-episode order.

The same article also puts Raines into the Friday at 9 slot sometime in March as well.
