What a match between the Naturals and Daniels/Styles...though I wish they didn't have to interject Rhino at the end. If it was going to be their last match as a team, it would have been nice to see them celebrate.
Cage/Sting/Abyss could prove to be really good.
Voodoo Kin Mafia? No thanks. Their TARGET joke felt forced. What's their beef with HBK and HHH, anyhow? that they've resurrected DX without them? And for that matter, what's TNA's beef with WWE? I mean, so far, TNA's been able to co-exist with WWE just fine.
Has Kevin Nash taken on a commish role concerning the X Division? I swear, he looks a lot like my Dad, if my Dad wore a goatee.
I don't get why The Naturals couldn't have gone over, seeing as though Styles and Daniels aren't going to team any more and the miscommunication excuse is right there.
To those who say people wouldn't look; they wouldn't be interested; they're too complacent, indifferent and insulated, I can only reply: There is, in one reporter's opinion, considerable evidence against that contention. But even if they are right, what have they got to lose? Because if they are right, and this instrument is good for nothing but to entertain, amuse and insulate, then the tube is flickering now and we will soon see that the whole struggle is lost. This instrument can teach, it can illuminate; yes, and it can even inspire. But it can do so only to the extent that humans are determined to use it to those ends. Otherwise it is merely wires, and lights, in a box.-Edward R. Murrow

Wins and losses are rarely remembered a week or two later. They're building to something with the Naturals, and taking a loss here and there actually fits into the slow-burning storyline involving Shane Douglas teaching them to learn from their mistakes. I have no issue with this. If they'd won, the story would have been their upset over Styles & Daniels. Which would only detract from the current angles each team has going. Sometimes the wins and losses mean nothing. This was one of those times.
From watching the past few weeks of storylines it looks like that Naturals approach has been abandoned, though. They decisively won their mini-feud with Team 3D, and they won at the PPV. If they're going to keep on pushing them as a tag team, they should've put them over the team that was splitting up. It's the most logical booking there is. And besides, the win does nothing whatsoever for the Daniels/Styles story. They lose, and the break-up/Styles heel turn continues apace, whilst the Naturals add another win to their growing list. I don't think the story would've been them upsetting Styles and Daniels at all.

I'm pretty sure you think that is a joke, but thanks to my not reading the spoilers before the show, I squeeled like a little girl and threw my hands up in the air at the joyous return of the team of Christian and Tyson Tomko.
Originally posted by shinstrifeI visited the TNA website, and is there any logical reason that Kurt Angle and Petey Williams are teaming together to take on LAX?
Petey was in the ring raising the flag when LAX came out and attacked, AMW came to the ring but LAX fought them off. Then Angle came to the rescue and cleaned house. So Petey and Angle are teaming up because they both stood up for the US against LAX.
Hey how about that, the fact that Roode wasn't really going anywhere was actually planned all along. Maybe people should wait for an angle to play out before saying the booking is horrible.
I really like the Sting/Abyss/Christian stuff. First of all Sting doing this darkside angle has been the best thing he's done by far, he even seems a little rejuvenated and the fans seem to recognize it and he's more over than he's been since he's returned. Meanwhile, Christian has finally got over as a heel and is one of the few guys the TNA fans will actually boo.
I like the Joe/Angle stuff too, the whole you watch my back i'll watch yours is a nice change from them break apart brawl every show like the first time around.

It was half-serious. I always liked the Christian-Tomko dynamic back in WWE. I actually think he's better in this role for TNA because he actually is one of the physically larger guys on the roster. In WWE he didn't work that well because, once Christian wasn't feuding with Jericho anymore, Tomko wasn't always bigger than his adversaries.

Not exactly the case. Roode himself says that his character was designed by the D'amore team and has been modifed by Russo. It's fair to say that his character is STILL going nowhere, unless the plan is for him to ALWAYS be a midcarder, of course...
And the Angle/Joe watching each other's back thing is...well...it's completely against Joe's character. This is a guy that was going to let himself be fired from the company rather than return the belt and now he's watching the back of his hated enemy??!?!? Joe aint' supposed to give a fuck about that shit, y'know? Plus, and I don't even have to type this, this angle has been done to death in WWE over the last decade.
Tyson Tomko looks like an absolute beast in TNA compared to WWE. The CLB/Problem Solver Reunion Tour is on!!!!
This is probably just nitpicking, but if they're gonna try to project Petey as this pro-American guy, could they at least have given him the folded flag the way it's supposed to be folded, with field of blue on the exterior? Would it have been that hard?
I really hate how they've been using Rhino as of late. His constant infatuation of Christian didnt work for me, to the point of sacrificing winning just for small bits of revenge, and running in during every Christian segment, to interjecting himself in the Styles/Daniels business.
I hated this show. Russo's style of booking just really doesn't sit with me, and I'm sorry if I sound like a broken record on that point. It feels like I'm going to be again left without an actual wrestling show to watch--that is, one that doesn't put wrestling into Vince McMahon's image or Vince Russo's.
The worst segments were the once with the Vincent Kennedy McMahon fan club. Did that whole thing about someone sitting in front of a mirror at home and the Democrats being in power make sense to those of you who watch Raw? Because it certainly didn't make sense to me. Other than that, my main problem with the show was all the overbooking. Having the opening tag being announced as Styles and Daniels' last match together was an unnecessary and unproductive distraction, and then having everybody and his brother appear for the end of the match was stupid. And then they got so many people involved in the LAX segment. At least they're not going through with stripping LAX of the titles. (Vile1, I'd say they never were actually stripped and they're still one-time champs.) But, boy, they're sure making Cornette look like a chump. (This one I can't blame on Russo--it was going on long before he got there.) There was one point in the main event where he was whining about Christian cheating, and I was just thinking, gee, if you feel so strongly, maybe you should run for commissioner so you'd be able to do something about it!
I think if they hadn't mentioned Tomko's name, I wouldn't have had a chance of being able to remember it on my own. But I suppose I can't blame them for playing to fans who watch the WWE more regularly than I do. At least he used his own name in WWE, so they don't have to rename him. (It's--The Difficulty Settler!)
One thing I will give credit to Russo for--TNA is building more real heels. The complaint used to be that TNA fans don't really cheer against anyone except Jarrett. With JJ on the sidelines, they're now firmly against Abyss, LAX, The Naturals, Christian, Roode, Austin Starr, and probably a couple of others.

Welllll.....Tomko's real name is TYLER Tomko, so I'm not sure if they'll call him by the Tyson moniker he used whilst with WWE. Either way, it's cool to see him back.
I totally forgot about this on Thursday -- I'm glad there's a replay, because I would have been sad to miss the debut of Tomko. I'm serious! I always liked him alright, and I think if Tomko is to Christian what Steiner was to Jarrett, it'll work out really well.
I was really glad that it was Christian coming out in the Sting suit at the beginning -- I was almost POSITIVE that he would unmask and it'd be Russo. I was filled with a sense of IMPENDING DREAD. Come on -- was I the ONLY one?
Speaking of Russo and Tomko, I'm glad that Russo didn't take advantage of Tomko's Blackfoot heritage and put him in a headdress and give him a tomahawk and maybe rename him Tomonka and have him give speeches about how the Native American is being HELD DOWN "UP NORTH." Well -- not yet, anyway.
Is Serotonin a new member of Raven's group, or the name of the group itself? I'm guessing the latter -- but they were already here, so how can they be "Coming Soon"? Huh, I dunno.
The LAX angle turned out alright after all -- color me surprised. Why do wrestler's lawyers always have long hair? That guy looked like he was in a Canned Heat cover band.
I feel like the X Division needs some new blood, bad -- someone who can come in and really make an impact. It coulda been Senshi, it coulda been Starr...it just feels like it's treading water right now (and has been for a while).
Overall, I thought the show was put together pretty well -- it flowed together naturally and smoothly, and it wasn't too hectic. I would've like to see some better matches, but que sera, sera.

There's no question at this point. Chris Jericho is this company's hottest heel act right now. I was expecting this thing with HBK to go on until Survivor Series, but it's in such a groove that it could actually drag on until Wrestlemania.
