Being a Veteran myself, I would like to take the opportunity to thank all the other Veterans who post here for their sacrifices. Happy Veteran's Day.

I echo that sentiment - perhaps we can post our time in service, Vets

Army - MPs - July 1976 to July 1979 - , Ft Leonard Wood, Ft McClellan, Ft Benning, Korea and San Francisco

My old man got his thanks in person this morning. I'l never be able to thank them all personally, but I can certainly post my thanks to a board and give to a reputable charity that serves homeless vets. (Can anyone recommend one?)

Pop was in a radar man in Korea supporting our boys in Vietnam. He also spent some time at Ft Dix and Redstone Arsenal. All of that would have been mid/late sixties. Most of the stories he tells are about hanging with his buddies at the NCO club.

THANK YOU

No service myself, but my brother served in the Navy during peace time.

My Uncle Jack died flying over the Hump in WWII, and my Grandfather-in-Law survived his ship being sunk.

My Great-grandfather served in the Belgian Army (Allies count too correct?) in WWI, and lived to the ripe old age 92 despite the mustard gas he had been exposed to.

THANK YOU one and all, young and old, for serving our country!

Thank you to all those before and after me. October 1988 to June 2001, including 9 months in Saudi/Kuwait during Desert Storm. I'd like to personally thank Home Depot for the 10% discount this past weekend. Greatly appreciated.

I've not served myself, but I thank all those who have served in the past, are serving now and will serve in the future.

A short list of people close to me who've served:

Chalmers Blair "Pap-Pap" Hawn (paternal great-grandfather): Army [I'm pretty sure], World War I

Harold Gage "Pop-Pop" Hawn (paternal grandfather): Army drill instructor, World War II

Lawrence "Grandpa" Pugh (maternal grandfather): Army, Korean War

Kelly Kelley (boss): Marine, peacetime (I think)

Robert Gillikin (co-worker): Marine, Vietnam War

Laurie Lyons (co-worker): Navy, peacetime

The military is much better served by me being stateside, as I could singlehandedly turn a quagmire into a slaughter by my own incompetence.

My thanks to every man and woman who has chosen to serve this country. If ever I have quibbled, it is with those who decide where to send our troops, not with their service. To them, I have only gratitude.

Now I'll never be able to lead SPF's spfers! (The W)

I figured you'd be more interested in the Arrested Development reference instead of the ECW reference.

A late thank you to all the Vets out there. I was on the road and out of touch until today. Here's hoping our friends in Washington address the needs and concerns of our Veterans and make sure we treat them the way we said we would. It would be a great way for the Reps to go out by putting benefits for these men and women in proper order.

Hey, good old Ft Leonard Wood. Dad and us were there when I was in grade school. Let's see must have been early 80's so just missed you by a bit. Traveled around after that but ended up back in Missouri and going to college just down the road at UM-Rolla(maybe called Missouri School of Mines when you were there).

Dad served, as well as both grandparents in the Army and my brother in law flew for the Air Force and still does for the national guard. Thanks to all else who served or still do.

...Yeah. What's worse is that he's a 60-year-old, big tough former Marine, which is not very easily confused with a 19-year-old hot blonde chick. (One of a few reasons I don't go out of my way to watch ECW.)

Actually I HATED Sealab last night. They could have just run a title card that said "sorry folks, we plain ran outta ideas." Probably the worst epsiode since the "evil orphan" one.
