ALTHOUGH, it could turn into another vanity project for DX. *ALTHOUGH*, I totally agree with The W user Deputy Marshall in the teams of opposing feuds bringing up pleasant memories of Survivors past.
I guess they're taking the Survivors '99 approach of putting teams together with no angles. I will also guess Cena/Umaga is a title match but hope instead for
CENA BATISTA RVD LASHLEY MARIA
vs.
UMAGA BOOKER FINLAY SHOW K-FED
which encapsulates the world title feud, the Raw feuds, the Smackdown feuds, and the ECW feud.
According to SD spoilers two of the guys mentioned are already in a singles match at SSs!
Two more SD singles matches will be announced this Friday on SD (or before on WWE.com)!
So I think the Team DX vs. Team Rated TKO match will most likely be the only Survivor Series style match!
None the less a great one!
Shawn, Hunter, Punk and the Hardys could easily form a new D-X from now on! THAT way D-X would finally become COOL again!
EDIT: I hope I didnīt actually SPOIL anything!? I tried not to....

I could get behind that for a while since it would mean that DX could roam through RAW, Smackdown and ECW on a regular basis. It would be something different, which is better than the typical DX RAW crap.

I do think it would be pretty cool if there was a faction that roamed all three shows but I don't know about those guys being in DX. Especially Punk, it'd be great for him to get the rub but I don't see him fitting in with degenerates, in fact I think he's kind of anti-degenerate. He'd probably be better used turning heel and feuding against DX but I don't want to see him job. I don't see the Hardys fitting either, I'm sure DX/Hardys would be over but DX is a couple of guys who people find to be cool, the Hardys are a couple of guys who think they are cooler than they actually are.
Three singles matches on Smackdown does make it seem like we might only have one Survivor Series match like last year. I hope that's not the case though, Survivor Series is one of the few shows that can be special if they do the Survivor Series matches. And if they're going to do interpromotinal matches then they certainly have enough guys to do at least a few Survivor Series matches.
Originally posted by John OrquiolaDid I say Survivor Series isn't worth buying? How would I know that? They've announced one match officially so far. I indicated that the announced 10 man tag alone isn't worth my $40, unlike others who clearly are sold based on seeing DX, Punk and the Hardyz on the same side.
I see what you're saying now. I think my confusion stemmed from the fact that nobody had said they were sold on the PPV based on that match alone prior to your reply.

Really? I figure they forget who he is within a couple weeks.
No way, dude -- not in this celebrity-obsessed culture of ours! Hey, OJ murdered two people something like 12 years ago -- and Kato freakin' Kaelin STILL has a career, with a syndicated TV program and National Lampoon radio shows & films (NL's Strip Poker, cameos in other NL flicks). Like it or not, Federline is gonna be around for a long, looooong time.
And ya know, if Federline can talk & take an occasional bump, I think he could be a DAMN good heel manager of divas... where his gimmick would be that he's a talentless hack who latches onto talented female wrestlers, spends their money, and eventually knocks 'em up. Whenever a diva is gonna go on the shelf or needs an operation, just write into the storylines that K-Fed's sugardaddy sperm landed himself another payday.
As per wwe.com, match #2 is a Survivor Series match between:
Cena (Captain) Kane Lashley RVD Sabu
vs.
Big Show (captain) Umaga Test MVP Finaly
Ugh. This one has train wresck written all over it. My moeny is on Sabu, Lashley, RVD and kane all getting eliminated first and Cena making a heroic comeback and eliminating all members of the other team by himself.
I was excited for Kennedy/UT, and for DX vs. Edge/orton teams, but this one leaves me less inclined to by the PPV.

It's now perfectly clear that the brands are no longer at war or even competing with each other. Instead, all the babyfaces from all three shows get along and all the heels from all three shows can co-exist. It's no longer about pride in your show, it's facey-heely.
And what has made this possible? What has ended the traditional tension between RAW and Smackdown and ECW and unified the company's rosters?
The Marine.
It's the one thing all three shows had in common. The one thing all three brands can agree on. They all want us to see The Marine.
All these wars in history over all different religions, it would all stop if everyone just banded behind The Marine. Like Styles and Tazz did. Like Cole and JBL have.
Oh, the match? Doesn't sound that great. Or good. MVP and Mike Knox in the other match are wastes of space. But it makes me like that DX, Hardyz, CM Punk team and match a lot more. And in retrospect, I'm gonna ease up on the complaining. Survivor Series is supposed to be like the All-Star Game where the wrestlers form unlikely teams so it should be fun watching people interact who normally don't get a chance to.

I'm going to predict a different direction. I think you might be right in Sabu, Lashley, RVD, and Kane all getting eliminated ... but I think Cena would then go through FOUR members of the other team before a beat-up and exhausted Cena falls prey to UuuuuuuuMAAAAAAga, setting up his next one-on-one feud even more.
OMG my match gets booked. Sort of. Next suggestion:
CHAVO CHAVO SR. HECTOR VICKI DOMINICK
vs.
CHRIS BENOIT and his KNIGHTS

Come on, homes, we JUST made that joke yesterday about DX. In fact I might even predict that Umaga pins Cena again or they DCOR to set up a match at New Year's Revolution.

I know, that sucks. Those guys should be in multi-man-matches too.

I'm actually kind of stoked to see what could happent with this match. Imagine Sabu doing some of that crazy shit off of Kane's shoulders, or the same with RVD/Lashley. Also, I'm a bit ingtrigued with how the interaction between BS, Umaga and Finlay willbe. Could you imagine Lil Bastard riding out on BS's shoulders? I could give a shit less about Test or MVP, but I'll still watch it.
I agree that Umaga will probably pin Cena although i wouldn't be surprised if RVD at least survived a little bit longer than being one of the first four eliminated. Is there a Raw ppv in December? I hope there isn't because Cena/Umaga would probably be a good pre Royal Rumble type title match and not a main event title match.
I just hope that if they're going to continue going down the old school Survivor Series style matches, they go all the way and start giving each team names as well. Team DX vs Team Rated RKO is all well and good, but what about the other match? The Chain Gang vs Team Get-The-Power-Ranger-Guy-Away-From-Me?

THE SHOW STOPPERS or WELL IT'S A BIG TEAM
I feel there's some sort of connection to be made in Team DX with the fact that you've got the Hardys, late of Team Xtreme, and CM Punk, an extreme extremist of Extreme Championship Wrestling. Like... TEAM DX-TREME. Ehhhh, that's pretty queer. Nevermind.
They also need the opening with Vince introducing the teams. If only because I really want to hear him say "OOOOOOOOOH-MAGA" in that totally overblown Vince growl he always used when he did those intros.
I believe Three Count and Jung Dragons had 2 I believe. I think they had like a 3-5 minute one on Nitro over summer of 2000, and a longer one in the August 2000 PPV. There was also like a cruiserweight ladder match at Starrcade 2000.
