For the first time in Survivor Series history, matches to the annual pay-per-view will be announced exclusively on WWE.com.
The match announcements will begin this Tuesday at 3 p.m. ET. New matches will continue to be announced everyday at the same time for one full week. By 3 p.m. next Monday, WWE.com will have announced seven matches.
So be sure to be right here at WWE.com everyday to see what matches the RAW and SmackDown Superstars, as well as ECW Extremists, will be involved in.
Thatīs unique! But I canīt believe there wonīt be any changes in their booking plans after theyīve announced ALL 7 matches!
Some poor soul is going to get chewed out because he missed the memo about how they were dropping terms like "extremists" to bring ECW into line with the other WWE brands.
I'm betting that announcing the matches in advance won't stop them from having people issue challenges and such during the subsequent shows.
Hopefully they'll have a few survivor series style matches at Survivor Series. B^)
Personally I would love to see a interpromotional Money in the bank ladder match at Survivor Series! Why wait for Wrestlemania? Letīs have it now! The last Mr Money in the bank already cashed his shot in months ago and Survivor Series is a great place for interpromotional bouts!
Just imagine:
Carlito vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Mr Kennedy vs. Matt Hardy vs. CM Punk vs. Sandman
The winner (CM Punk?) could even cash his shot in at Wrestlemania 23!

Because the WWE using the same gimmick match over and over again is what has ruined cage, ladder, Hell in the Cell, battle royals, and TLC matches. They should keep stuff to once a year. The Royal Rumble is really the only reall unique match left because it's only done once a year.
As for your suggestions for participants, eh. Those six wouldn't really excite me at all except Matt and Punk. But there is no way they're going to give Matt a title shot.

I just wanted to put some possible future Main Event caliber stars in there like Punk, Carlito and Kennedy! A Hardy Boyz reunion would be nothing more than a nice addition and fitting, because itīs a ladder match. And Sandman is filler, because spoilers indicate that the other (3) ECW Main Eventers could be wrestling in the Main Event at Survivor Series! But you can give Sandmans spot to Test or Holly as well!
As far as using the Mitb too often is concerned:
That always depends on how long Mr Mitb waits with cashing his shot in! Edge waited 9 months, so the next WM made sense for Mitb2 to take place! But RVD used his shot only 2 months after earning it. That means 10 months without a new Mr Mitb!?
I wonder if the whole show is going to be crazy-interpromotional like that. Very interesting, if so. Could be why they're announcing everything on the Internet instead of the TV shows.
"That's my problem - I'm too frank. That's why my mother shoved me down the stairs. But then she is fat."
That face team is gonna be super-over. I hope we get more matches like this.
To those who say people wouldn't look; they wouldn't be interested; they're too complacent, indifferent and insulated, I can only reply: There is, in one reporter's opinion, considerable evidence against that contention. But even if they are right, what have they got to lose? Because if they are right, and this instrument is good for nothing but to entertain, amuse and insulate, then the tube is flickering now and we will soon see that the whole struggle is lost. This instrument can teach, it can illuminate; yes, and it can even inspire. But it can do so only to the extent that humans are determined to use it to those ends. Otherwise it is merely wires, and lights, in a box.-Edward R. Murrow
Ladies and gentlemen, the following public service message is brought to you by your friends from D-Generation X, who would like to remind each and every one of you that if you're not down with that, we've got two words for you... I am all over that babyface side. DX, a Hardyz reunion and C.M. Fuckin' Punk all on the same team? Soo-poib. :)
smark/net attack Advisory System Status is: Elevated (Holds; June 18, 2006) While the switch from Cena to RVD should alleviate some complaints, the inevitability of the belt's return to Cena (note where Summerslam is this year) and the poor initial showing by the new ECW are enough to keep the indicator where it is for now. The pieces are in place, though, especially on RAW, for improvements to be made to the IWC's psyche in the near future.

WWE.com will be announcing a new Survivor Series match everyday for a week. The first match announced for the upcoming pay-per-view will feature
Captains DX with CM Punk, Matt & Jeff Hardy vs. Captains Edge & Randy Orton with Mike Knox, Johnny Nitro & Gregory Helms
I am getting SS for this match alone. Well, not actually for it alone, but for what it suggests about the possibility of the "interesting" factor of the other matches.
Captains DX with CM Punk, Matt & Jeff Hardy vs. Captains Edge & Randy Orton with Mike Knox, Johnny Nitro & Gregory Helms
Take Mike Knox out of there and that sounds decent. But not $40 decent. More like five minutes on RAW without fast forwarding decent.
Only one match announced and you're already saying the Survivor Series isn't worth buying? I'm pretty cynical of any WWE pay-per-view myself, but that's a bit much.
That being said, I really like the idea of an interpromotional match with different unrelated feuds (DX vs. Edge/Orton; Nitro vs. Jeff Hardy; Matt Hardy vs. Helms; Punk vs. Knox) mixed into one match. It makes me nostalgic for the early Survivor Series pay-per-views.
The only criticism I have is that they're spoiling a potential selling point in Matt and Jeff Hardy teaming together for the first time since their heyday as a tag team by putting them in a match where invariably the focus is going to be on DX.
That match could be pretty awesome. Although they rarely ever get anywhere near enough time. Although this is DX's match, so it will. ALTHOUGH, it could turn into another vanity project for DX. *ALTHOUGH*, I totally agree with The W user Deputy Marshall in the teams of opposing feuds bringing up pleasant memories of Survivors past.
I guess they're taking the Survivors '99 approach of putting teams together with no angles. I will also guess Cena/Umaga is a title match but hope instead for
CENA BATISTA RVD LASHLEY MARIA
vs.
UMAGA BOOKER FINLAY SHOW K-FED
which encapsulates the world title feud, the Raw feuds, the Smackdown feuds, and the ECW feud.

Did I say Survivor Series isn't worth buying? How would I know that? They've announced one match officially so far. I indicated that the announced 10 man tag alone isn't worth my $40, unlike others who clearly are sold based on seeing DX, Punk and the Hardyz on the same side. The 10 man Survivor match sounds decent to me on paper (except for Knox) and I'll bet it'll turn out pretty good, but I wasn't knocked off my socks upon hearing it. But I wouldn't fast forward though that match either like I do for so much of RAW and Smackdown these days. But now I'm just repeating myself.

That's not bad although I'd love to see Benoit in there with Cena, Batista and RVD rather than Lashley or Maria. Also we know how well Benoit can perform against Finlay and Booker and getting a glimpse of Benoit/Umaga might be nice. If you had DX/Hardy/Punk and Cena/Batista/RVD/Benoit as your two face teams then you'd have two pretty over face teams. Although I guess you also have to spread the wealth some too. I guess Benoit could also be used in another match with Rey with maybe Chavo and Regal on the other side. And maybe throw in Carlito and Shelton.
I'm just dreading what good wrestlers get stuck with Flair/Piper or Kane/UT. Hopefully they'll get partnered together and keep that all in one match.
I guess Brittney Spears isn't much of a wrestling fan. She just filed for divorce -- so the media interest in what Federline does is gonna be huge.
If the WWE is smart, they'd milk this by partnering K-Fed up with one of their more marketable divas ASAP. It would be an easy way to generate vast mainstream media coverage for the PPV.
Seeing that K-Fed has now lost his gravy train wifey and that his cd (along with his music tour) has totally bombed, he just might be in desperate need of a job and has signed on to the WWE full time.
Meet Kevin Federline......your newest WWE "Superstar".

I like this a lot, but mostly because it implies that Federline has the equivalent wrestling ability of a 110 pound model.
I haven't watched WWE in a long time, but if the one announced match is any indication, Survivior Series looks like it could end up being really good.
(edited by samoflange on 8.11.06 0813) Ken Kennedy debuted a new finisher: Jeff Hardy fans will insist on calling it the Swanton Bomb, but it looks WAY more devastating when not performed by a 180-pound fruitcake. -Rick Scaia 06.12.2006
VERY much so. He's in the Undisputed Era which is pretty much the NXT main event storyline. Well, Scurll's contract runs out in a few months but ROH looks like they're getting Faction Wars 2: The Factioning together.
