I would have flown to see this. I have a "Best of Solid Gold 1983" with Frank singing this accompanied by the Solid Gold dancers. I didn't know anyone else knew of this song.

This song is one of those really fun ones that features an extremely long period of no-singing in the middle of it. (I did not dance.)

Absolutely-during the performance I have, Marilyn McCoo came out during the middle part and introduced the show while Frank danced (the way you'd imagine a Stallone could dance) in the background.

What did you do during the non-singing part? In MY mind, you stood motionless and stared mournfully at the audience for a full minute and a half. But I must know the truth.

Drank beer, then for the benefit of the people who didn't know the song very well, I pretended like I was just about ready to start singing...and then when there were no vocals, I didn't. Then I looked at my watch. One more false start, one more look at my watch.
You're right on the "standing motionless and staring mournfully at the audience" technique being my usual M.O., though - notable times I've done that are in the middle of "The Model" by Kraftwerk and, of course, the two minutes of no-singing at the end of "Cars" by Gary Numan.
Ah, but do you have the less sexually ambiguous, yet still super-neato duet version with Catriona of Queen of Japan? (franzferdinand.net) Story and more audio goodness here. (franzferdianand.net)
