I liked it for the most part. It wasn't bad. It helped that I watched it after the three hour RAW Family Reunion and I was zoned out. This helped me ignore the stuff I don't like at all: the bad acting from that girl with Mohinder (finally learned his name) and all the stuff with Niki Sanders. "Hey, mom, good morning. So, why are we pulled over in the desert?" I don't like Peter Petrelli but I like his brother.

Overall, I was able to focus on the stuff I do like.

I liked Hiro saving the girl and convincing his friend to go to Vegas with him.

I like Greg Grunberg's cop.

For those without HD, you haven't seen Claire Bennet until you've seen her in high definition. Creepy to say since Hayden Panettiere is only 17, but true nonetheless.

The ending really was a "Holy Shit!" moment. That was unexpected and cool.

Really didn't like beating us over the head with the Nissan Versa product placement. Hiro practically looked into the camera and said: "You buy Nissan Versa! Ichiban!"

Overall, it worked for me. Staying positive. 3 down, 19 to go.

I'm starting to wonder if the comic book was intentionally planted for Hiro to find. He's been following the book so carefully, that everything in it is becoming a self-fulfilling prophecy (notice how the truck wouldn't have endangered the little girl if not for Hiro's friend trying to stop it?) Would everything be THAT different if they didn't take a Nissan Versa? The problem is that without having an end to the storyline, Hiro is blindly following this path, and I could see them being set up to help out the villain. Also, where did I recognize the car rental clerk from? She was very familiar. Also, why can't Hiro find someone who can translate and ask them to help with his calls to Isaac? Heck, he should be smart enough to at least use Babelfish or something to translate a letter and send it to the address. Or is he just doing what the comic said he was going to do?

I'm glad that the cop is having troubles adjusting to his ability to hear thoughts. I fully expected Sylar to kill off the other detective by forced suicide.

The ending with Claire waking up during her autopsy was amusing. It reminded me of Zoidberg's autopsy from the time travel episode of Futurama. Is that correct autopsy procedure, to dissect the patient before removing the object in the person's head, or since people don't usually revive themselves like that, does it not matter? Does she need to grab her other organs and reinsert them, or can she just get up and let them regenerate?

The plot holes and bad dialogue don't bother me so much, since this is supposed to be a televised comic book and I'm used to such things in the comics.

The acting, however, is another story. There are some HORRID performances that are dragging the show down for me. The most notable offenders are Peter, Simone, Mohinder's pixie-headed friend, Matt's wife, and Niki. Niki has the double-problem of being the center of the show's least interesting thread.

All that said, I'm loving the show as a whole and can't wait to see where it goes.

And that ending? Awesome. I just don't like that NBC is already using "Get ready for another Heroes ending!" in their promotion. They're going to M. Night this thing if they're not careful.

I'm loving this show, and the cop storyline may have just passed the Hiro story as my personal favorite thus far. I'm having no trouble with the acting NOR the dialogue... it all serves its purpose. I'm only struggling with the fact that the Ali Larter storyline does seem to just be the least interesting thing on any show I watch.

I love the show but find Niki and her evil mirror twin annoying.

We watched the taped version of the show last night and I think it took a little tick upward this week. I think I can say that I'll be on board for the whole 22 week run.

I can't figure out if the cheerleader's dad is really the bad guy or trying to find the bad guy to help out the good guys. Do we have enough information on him yet?

The "Previously on Heroes" voice over specifically referred to him as "evil". Could be misdirection, I'm not sure.

I think we have three forces at work:
-The Heroes
-The Evil Menace, led by Claire's dad. (I think the bald guy in the bar could turn out to be the one that's not really evil, even though the preview for next week

Spoiler Below: Highlight text to read
shows him working with Claire's dad
.)
-Sylar, who seem to be going after potential superhumans and killing them for whatever reason. Though at this time, I don't believe he's associated with The Evil Menace.

I'm not officially on the bandwagon yet, but I'm starting to think that Claire's dad is not evil, and that its all misdirection. (Mostly cuz the direction has been so blatant that he's evil.) That said, I'm not sure if its that the Evil Menace isn't actually evil, or rather that Claire's dad is an agent for good within the Evil Menace. As noted, next week looks like it should enlighten us a little more with respect to this.

My current pet theory regarding Sylar is that he eats the brains of the Heroes to assimilate their powers. If that was indeed him at the police station, it seems like he can at least fly or teleport (or both?) and withstand bullets. That probably just means that its going to take the combined efforts of the Heroes to stop him (of course).

This is what I meant. Every preview has the voiceover guy say "the face of evil" while they show Claire' dad. I am thinking misdirection.

Nah, this is all attributable to his obvious power -- TK. A telekinetic (think Neo) can do superleaping to get out of a situation by pushing against the ground, or possibly fly via constant TK push. The bullets never entered his body; he stopped them midair (hence the 'clinking' noises when they hit the ground).

The only thing I can't explain is how one of his brain-munchy victims was FROZEN solid. We haven't seen any ice controllers yet. Maybe he's working with someone, if it's not a brain devouring thing?

So far I'm enjoying the series a LOT -- I haven't found the acting to be all that bad. I'm attributing pixie girl's bad acting to her being an obvious bad guy in disguise, here to encourage Mohinder's research before she backstabs him and takes it. I mean, she shows up exactly at the right moment to do a heroic save, seems to know everything about his father, and dives headfirst into this paranormal stuff without batting an eye? BAD GUY. Definitely.

Young Justice has been back for a month now and continues to deliver rather excellent DCU superhero stories. I like this show way more than the DC Animated movies that hit DVD every few months.
