An odd question, but maybe someone here can help me out ...
I'm doing a little research on the portrayal of librarians in video games; I think I've come up with a pretty extensive list, but I'm just wondering if anyone here can think of any obvious candidates that I might have missed (or obscure, if you know of any).
Here's the list thus far:
* Secret of Evermore (Miss Bluegarden) * Freaky Flyers (Myrna Bookbottom) * Brave Fencer Musashi (Brisketta) * Putt-Putt Travels Through Time (Darian) * Scooby Doo!: Mystery Mayhem (Alan Dinsdale) * Suikoden III (Eike) * Icewind Dale (Geelo) * Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura (Aldus T. Giles) * Spyro: Season of Ice (Grendor) * Soulbringer (Jaard) * Veil of Darkness (Kairn) * ToHeart2 (Manaka Komaki) * Conan: The Dark Axe (Kordava Librarian) * Boktai 2: Solar Boy Django (Lady) * The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap (Librari) * Siege of Avalon (Marcus) * Harvest Moon 64 (Maria) * Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town (Mary) * Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (Master Librarian) * Pajama Sam 3: You Are What You Eat From Your Head to Your Feet (Mop Top Island Librarian) * Nightshade (Mark Gray) * .hack//Infection (Natsume Oguro) * Earthbound (Onett Librarian) * Secret of Monkey Island 2 : LeChuck's Revenge (Phatt Island Librarian) * The Sims Bustin' Out (Hester Primm) * Leisure Suit Larry: Love for Sail (Victorian Principles) * Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War (Space Marine Librarians) * Fallout (Mrs. Stapleton) * Clock Tower (Mr. Sullivan) * Geneforge 2 (Swofford) * Wild Arms Alter Code: F (Trish) * Nancy Drew: The Final Scene (Sherman Trout) * Icewind Dale II (Cedrin Zil) * Elder Scrolls IV (Tar-Meena) * World of Warcraft (Brother Paxton) * World of Warcraft (Donyal Tovald) * World of Warcraft (Mae Paledust) * World of Warcraft (Milton Sheaf)
It's been awhile since I've played Final Fantasy IX, and longer since I went to Daguerrero in that game, but surely there was a librarian there, I think. Can't remember his or her name, though.
Oh, I remember now that there was definitely a librarian in Garnet's castle in Final Fantasy IX. That is, he hung out in the library and told stories and such. The name's eluding me, though.

Actually, I was led to believe that the main character in Nightshade was a librarian himself
In Metro City (not wasting any time with the genericness), crime reigns. Or rather, Egyptian-inspired villain Sutekh does. A superhero named Vortex fought him, but he hasn't been seen since. You're a librarian who followed Vortex's adventures and decide to pick up where he left off by donning a generic trench coat and fedora, and naming yourself Nightshade. (via GameFaqs)

Guess so. I don't remember that from the game, but it's been awhile.

Actually, this site says that the main character "works for a dictionary company", so now I am officially confused ... I may have to remove "Nightshade" from the list until this controversy can be cleared up.
Offhand, from FFV (the one released on Anthologies for the PS1), there's the Library of the Ancients that I believe is run by Mid. There's a second library that I'm assuming is run by King Zeza, although they never explicitly mention who runs it, IIRC.
From Star Ocean 2, there's the library in Linga - but I don't think you meet the head librarian. The library in North City, however, is run by the Operator, and there's a smaller library in Giveaway that is run by Parel.
In Shadow Hearts: From the New World, you can visit "Arkham University" and stop in at the library there. There's at least one librarian in there, but he's just another NPC.
