I was too exhausted last night to give a report. Just a couple thoughts since you can always get results from the ROH forums (if you dare).

The show wasn't as big as the last two, perhaps due to Tigers/Yanks and Michigan/MSU games. But it was cool since the smaller crowd seemed to be loyal ROH fans instead of annoying fans just there because they saw Joe and Daniels on TNA. The crowd seemed louder this time despite the size.

The double main events saw Danielson retain over Austin Aries in a solid, "wrestling clinic". ROH has seemed to move from booking "MMA style" finishes for Danielson a la the elbows to the head ref stoppage and now have him win with fluke small package roll ups. It sucks because I really like Aries and I have to be patient and see where they're going with Danielson...

The second match was the wildest brawl I've ever seen live and featured Samoa Joe/Homicide vs The Briscoes. Hard hitting aktion inside the ring that soon spilled out into the ringside area, then into the crowd and then outside into the parking lot! This is where having a smaller crowd made it better since everyone rushed outside and was able to gather around for the mayhem that ensued. I didn't get a good vantage point but from what I saw and heard from my friends after, one of the Briscoes got body slammed on the asphalt by Cide. Then, shortly after, Mark Briscoe climbed on top of the Ryder truck and what happened next still amazes me. Mark did a running shooting star press off the top of the truck all the way to the asphalt and landed on top of Joe! Joe was then helped out of the match by two ROH students and looked to have messed up his knee. I can't believe Mark is still alive. After, the aktion went back inside and Cide took turns body slamming both Briscoes into a non-gimmicked table that refused to break. The Briscoes eventually put Cide through it and then brought him into the ring where they ended it with a spike Jay driller for the win.

This event is tied for best Detroit show with Dragon Gate Challenge from April, with DGC having the better overall matches but this one having the wild brawl that had a feel to it like you were part of something special.

I didn't even know about this show. I would not have attended anyway since the baseball and Michigan-MSU games were on, but considering how often I check wrestling news sites/boards, ROH needs to put more into advertising shows when they go outside of their normal areas.

The next time ROH will be in Detroit will be Wrestlemania weekend just like they did last year in Chicago. It will be two back to back shows on the Friday and Saturday before WM. I'll probably go to both and Wrestlemania (if I can get tix).

You should be happy you don't live in Cleveland. Apparently, that market isn't doing well, and ROH will probably not be coming back there. The Detroit show sounded pretty good, and I can't wait for November as ROH does two shows around my area (NE Philly and Edison, NJ).

Just seeing the Kings of Wrestling (Hero and Castagnoli) with the ROH tag titles, and perhaps getting my hands on the 9/16 Manhatten show, will be worth the price of admission.
