I had forgotten about this one, and apologize for posting twice. This series from Holiday Inn Express were all pretty funny....

Production quality, little subtleties, concept -- best commercial of all time.

Can't watch it at work, but if that's the one I think it is, it debuted during a Super Bowl, so it got decent airplay at the very least.

And the Holiday Inn ads with the three business guys are decent. Yes, even the "nature's public speaker" one.

Are the Volkswagen commercials featuring "our German engineer, Wolfgang" eligible even though they are radio spots?

"Zis car has three speeds, and ze third speed is 'disappointment'. Car, honk if you suck. *honk*"

I'm impartial to the "Dr. Zee" commercials from DailerChrysler, myself.

Well don't get used to them. He was canned as spokesperson about two weeks ago.

Here is a snippit from http://www.dw-world.de/dw/article/0,,2183806,00.html?maca=en-rss-en-all-1573-rdf

However, Jean Halliday, who covers the automotive industry for Advertising Age magazine, said while the commercials are amusing, the message is unclear.

"There are many Americans who do not know who Dieter Zetsche is," she said. "There was some research I found in my reporting that 80 percent of Americans who saw the ads thought the character was a made up person. They didn't realize he was really the chair of DaimlerChrysler AG."

Other critics complained that Zetsche's silly behavior in the ads was inappropriate for the chairman of an international conglomerate, though that would probably be less of a concern if the ads sold cars.

But Halliday said -- when looking at the numbers -- they didn't. When the ads were pulled earlier this month, there was talk that the campaign had been a dud.

    DaimlerChrysler denies ad failure
Christine Mackenzie, the Executive Director of Multi-Brand Marketing & Agency Relations, for the Chrysler Group, said it's not a sign of failure that the high profile "Dr. Z" ads were abruptly stopped in September when it became clear that too much inventory and low sales were more pressing issues.

"We have to be very spontaneous and flexible, and that's the whole reason for taking down the 'Dr. Z' ads and replacing them with clearance spots," Mackenzie said.

Dr. Z's commercials may not have sold many cars, but he did enter the lexicon as a pop culture icon -- both hated and loved.

Add me to the 80 percent.

I was kinda on the fence. He came off very "Joe Isuzu" in the beginning, but I was starting to wonder later on.

I like some of the ads for Game Boy Advance games because they usually have pretty rad music. I first heard Goldfrapp in a commercial for the original Mario vs. Donkey Kong!

I also enjoy the USA Network spots with the characters from all their different shows interacting.

Threadjack - who is the band in the new Geico caveman commercial?

BTW it might be my current favorite, because I know it means no more mango chutney.

If you mean the one with said caveman on the moving walkway, that's Royksopp's "Remind Me".

I like the cell phone commercial where the mother and daughter are shouting at each other, but they're actually saying nice things.

"You never hated me and you never will!" *Stomps off*

edit: This is the one

my favorite commercial:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=gm_n76Dsl0c

it's so heartwarming, ha.

I like Geico commercials in general, except for those with the hired actor translation gimmick. Those are just a poor attempt at comedy.

But the cavemen and the gecko are solid gold in my eyes.

I love iPod commercials, especially the one with Eminem's "Lose Yourself" and the new one with all the neon squiggles in the air.

Not necessarily the ENTIRE commercial, but the Miller Lite "Man Law" segment where Jerome Bettis goes to give Burt Reynolds a Wet Willie and Burt, without even turning his head, deadpans "Don't!". And how Jerome sheepishly withdraws his finger. Cracks me up every time.

this is one of those really surreal commercials; while I appreciate the out-of-the-boxness of it... in the back of my head it really creeps me out.

Just like that commercial about chicken fries, where one guy tells the other he'll turn into a chicken if he keeps eating them. Then cuts to the guy getting out of bed and he has chicken feet... and for no reason they show a fox in his house hallway. Random, weird. You guys know which commercial Im talking about? (whats the deal with that fox?!)

A girl where I work also thinks that the Skittles Rabbit commercial is hilarious. She shows it to everyone she can. So far, she's only found one other person who laughed at it.
