I have not been carded for beer or cigarettes in about 7 years.
I work at a College and tka e a few classes here and there while I am working on getting my Bachelor's Degree. During one evenign class overheard the kids talking about the Michael Jackson trial and NONE of them understood why it was front page news and they kept referring to him as "Janet Jackson's brother." So apparently to kids ages 17-21 Michael Jackson is how we view Tito. They have no recollection of Jackson being a mega-star. That boggles my mind.
And finally my wife has two half sisters in high school. Neither of thme have used a physical encyclopedia to look anything ever. If I was to say "World Book Encycolpedia" or "Britanica" they would have no clue what I was talking about.

I may have you all beat in that I received my invitation to join the AARP a couple of months back.
Things that make me feel old. Realizing that i have had my beard (33 years) longer than many of you have been alive. Stepping on the main campus and realizing I am old enough to be everyone's father.
And this makes me feel ancient - being totally out of touch with I-pods and such and knowing I don't care.
The girsl who used to baby sit for our kids when they were babies just graduated from college.
Mind you, I am only 39, but that made me pause for aminute and go "Wow, were has the time gone?".
Also, any time one of my firends who has younger siblings tellsme that the sibling just got married/had a kid. I always say "Wait, isn't he/she like 15? and they go, no 25.
...that motherfucker is always spiked with pain.....
My sister-in-law, whom I have known since she was 2, started college this Fall.
My 8 yr old daughter said that Ferris Bueller was cute and I had to explain to her that he is now 43 years old and she, wide-eyed, exclaimed "Wow! He's older than you!"
I was reminiscing about something that happened in middle school and suddenly realized that it was twenty years ago.
I don't "get" myspace. (Actually, after having looked at it, I'm not too sad about that one....)

I have you beat there. AARP has been sending me stuff to join since I was 28.
Having a discussion with a friend about the feeling of helplessness when your parents are making bad decisions that at least from your perspective are clearly not in their best intrest and you can see that down the line you're personally going to have to deal with some of the consequences --not just your parents-- but legally and socially you have no ability to intervene.

That was pretty much the start of me feeling old, too. Every summer I work at this program for gifted high school kids. My first year working there (2001) the guy I was working with was playing some Michael Jackson early in the morning. Only some of the kids knew who Michael Jackson was, and not a single one of them could differentiate between "Black or White" and "Thriller." I wanted to cry.
Also, it doesn't help that pretty much every kid at this program was born in the 90s.

I'll be thinking about something that happened in high school and it'll feel like just a year or two ago. Then, I realize it was more like 12-13 years ago. Jesus.

yeah, yeah, yeah... I had my thirtieth HS reunion this year.
We'll be back right after order has been restored here in the Omni Center.
To make AngryJohnny feel young. Realizing the internet as we know it has only been around for about a third of my life. Using Gopher to surf the net and asking what the hell that Netscape stuff is all about.
Having had to work almost as long as I went to school. (12 yrs vs 13 yrs)
Eyeing the "old people" at a concert and then figuring I am their age probably.
Coming to the shocking revelation that this gorgeous lady friend I have (we've known eachother for over ten years..) is just that..a good friend. And I am OK with that. Right now I'd rather spend time talking and watching movies than try to figure out how to get inside her pants. That one is mindboggling and freaks me out.
I think the thing that surprises me the most is that I am having fun cooking. I didn't really expect that. My second attempt at the stuffed chicken breast:
