My mom was homeless for awhile, and it was pretty hard not to see her in other homeless people I saw on the street after that. So yeah, I usually help the homeless.

For a few years now, my wife & I have stopped throwing away our old shoes, jackets, and sheets/blankets. Instead, we keep them in the trunks of our cars and give them to people we see on the street that look like they could use one.

Same here. I downright refuse to give to panhandlers. Instead, I'll bring a donation to a local homeless shelter personally.

The main place in my area where people solicit is at the bus terminal...and once in a while i'll give them a bus ticket if they need it, but even that's rare.

If I'm caught in traffic and there's someone by the side of the road, I'll give them a dollar or some change. If there's someone at a train stop and they need a token and I have an extra one, I'll give that. I don't usually give to people on the sidewalk because I'm either on a bike or walking in a hurry.

A guy in front of me one day handed someone a Dunkin Donuts bag, I wonder if that was a nice gesture (a meal) or an asshole one (trash).

I also have never thrown away clothes, shoes, blankets, etc. They always go into the donation drop boxes.

Ken Kennedy debuted a new finisher: Jeff Hardy fans will insist on calling it the Swanton Bomb, but it looks WAY more devastating when not performed by a 180-pound fruitcake.

We don't have a lot of homeless folks here in this part of the state. They gravitate towards the bigger cities where there are more people and resources than here. The ones that I do come into contact with are generally clients of the place where I work, so we're helping them out on a pretty regular basis. That said, I think it's pretty cool that Frosty and his wife have things on hand in their cars to hand out just in case. Nice.

I have done Habitat houses, I worked at a breakfast for the Homeless our church puts on every week from time to time, and I have been on a couple of trips where we variously worked in shelters, sorted clothes for donations, played Santa Claus at a shelter, built a playground for kids staying at a shelter, and once, spent a day just cleaning up at one.

My church is very mission to the homeless centric.

Well I think I like Christmas a bit more, but what you said. The lovely Mrs. whatever could probably do without the wall-to-wall coverage. Tough. ;)
