So I played the demo and it was a ton of fun, and now the game comes out today. Reviews have been pretty good so far. They all say it's maybe not as polished as GTA in terms of great music, always funny and such and it's a total ripoff but that it's a blast to play and improves on a lot of what GTA does wrong.

Anyone else with a 360 needs to get it so we can form an online gang. I'm guessing this is sorta like a clan for the online modes, which I've never been a part of, but being called a gang is much cooler so I'm down.

I can't wait to spend like 20 hours throwing my character into traffic for the insurance fraud mini game.

One thing's for sure, the aiming system is FAR superior to GTA, which was one of my biggest issues with San Andreas.

The single-player is pretty good, with the exception of a few lame jokes. But the single-player isn't what makes this worth the price of purchase.

Multiplayer will keep you coming back. Protect Tha Pimp is absolutely addicting and nothing's more fun than giving someone a deadly pimp slap. Blinged Out Ride may throw off some new gamers, but is easy to pick up and gets increasingly frantic. It takes a lot of teamwork and woe to any random teams, because they'll get their asses handed to them by a team who has their act together.

Online gangs bring the awesomeness. Six can play at a time, but I believe the gangs can have more than six members. So it's quite feasible to have a whole lot of W's and always have six people ready to go.

Undoubtedly, THE reason to own an Xbox 360 right now. Go get this game NOW!

TEN YEARS AGO IN WRESTLING HISTORY: AUGUST 1996
WWF: Shawn Michaels d. Vader at Summerslam '96. It would prove to be one of Vader's last main events and he sure made a go of it. Also, Mankind and Undertaker faced off in one of the modern-day classics: The Boiler-Room Brawl!

WCW: Hulk Hogan wins the WCW title from The Giant, beginning a YEAR-LONG title reign that would be briefly interrupted by Lex Luger for six days before holding onto the title for ANOTHER four months. THIS was WCW!

All this, plus SHINY LETTERS on the packaging.

Great game so far. GTA copycat? Of course. But there are shitty knock-off wannabes (True Crime, about 300 other pieces of crap), and then there are clones that throw in improvements here and there. This is definitely the latter. Already mentioned but worth repeating - the aiming is much, much better than what GTA offers. Makes a world of difference.

Character creation is awesome, but with one huge, glaring, ugly omission: you can adjust everything from the angle your ears stick out at to the tilt and width of your mouth, you can dress your guy up with hundreds of clothing items, but you CAN'T adjust your guy's height. AARGH.

Haven't got to play it much yet (just got it yesterday) but the online multi seems fun...the problem being, lag is pretty prevalent according to most people I've talked to. Everyone is crying for a "patch" but that doesn't always fix things (witness the SFII XBox Live Arcade patch that just came out).

Lag online or not, this is a hell of a game, and well worth the purchase. I think outpost.com has it for $50 (no shipping cost if you go with the free method), for those not adverse to ordering stuff online.

A question: whats the framerate like for the game? The ads that I've seen make it seem a little slow, if anything.

I didn't play the demo all that much and was pretty concerned about the framerate in it. But I rented the game and it is really fun. The atmosphere and radio stations (esp the talk) aren't as good as GTA but everything else is as good or in some cases (aiming) its much better. I bought it today when I took the rental back. It's great fun and there is tons of stuff to do. And I haven't even tried online yet.

Kacar 360 is my gamertag is anyone wants to play or send me a friend request.

Yeah, I remember those E3-era videos where the framerate seemingly bogged down into the single digits whenever something exploded nearby or a bunch of people were onscreen.

They seemed to have fixed it for the most part...at a minor cost. It looks like they disabled Vsync, which allows the framerate to throttle up, but comes at the expense of graphics tearing once in a while. This doesn't bother me in the least and it's not even that noticeable, but if someone is nitpicky they'll probably be annoyed by it. There's also some weird pop-in once in a while.

That said, those are most of my complaints so far, and they are minor ones. "Pound for pound," I have spent more time on this game than any other 360 one so far.

My one gripe about the online (besides the lag) is everyone wants to dress up like a pimp. My obese white guy who wore sloppy pants and had a big chain with a pendant of Africa on it seemed sadly out of place. Occasionally you'll see a ray of hope (a skinny white guy wearing heart boxers and a rastafarian hat, or a guy who did a near-perfect Green Hornet outfit), but everyone is trying too hard to look cool.

Insurance Fraud is one of the best mini-games I've ever played. I love the rag-doll physics in it.

It's really scary how my best friend's girlfriend was able to look at him and I and get our faces just right for our characters.
