I only caught the last five mins of celeberty duets, but I saw a 5 second clip of Jericho singing, then him getting eliminated. There goes that dream...

Its not as bad for his reputation as getting his butt kicked in a highly publicized shoot fight, but this will be brought up for sure if he ever returns to WWE.

I just remembered that im absent minded
wait i mean i lost my mind, i cant find it.

The last time a WWE Superstar lost on a reality show (Stacy Keibler on Dancing With The Stars), that person was never mentioned or seen on WWE TV ever again.

So there goes any possible Jericho comeback.

I saw his performance and it was terrible. He did a duet with LeeAnn Womack, singing Mendicino County Line, a song she originally did with Willie Nelson. It's not hsi style of singing. He has said so as much, that he's used to screaming and yelling his songs instead of actually singing.

Yeah I was flipping back and forth and ?luckily? caught both his songs...the first was that country love song, and the judges said they wanted him to do something more rockin the next time. So he teams with Peter Frampton(!) for...Stevie Wonder's "Signed, Sealed, Delivered"?! And Y2J gets drowned out by the invisible backing chorus on it!

So Hal Sparks gets to stay but the guy who's released three albums and toured the world fronting a rock band gets kicked off...typical TV stupidity...at least now I don't have to devote another second to thinking about the show.

I didn't watch this, but they played a lot of clips on the Bob and Tom show this morning. He sounded awful, and isn't he technically a "professional" singer?
How was the epic pairing of Cheech and Michael Bolton???

Hal Sparks was probably the best celeb singer on the show.

I don't know about Cheech and Bolton, but Cheech and Randy Travis worked surprisingly well for me.

How does Cheech count as an amateur in this, what with "Earache My Eye" to his credit and all?

Have you ever thought that maybe, just maybe the only reason he is able to do that is because he is Chris Jerhico from WWE? I really don't think his (shitty IMO) band would have ever went as far as it has if it was not for that.

I take it you're not a fan of heavy metal.
I've heard some his band's stuff and I'm not a fan of his band but I can certainly understand why some people like it. In fact, I haven't bothered to check it out because he's in it. Even if he wasn't JERICHO his band would do well on the metal festival circuit (which is what they're doing) in Europe. Do you really think European metal fans care that it's Chris Jericho?

Well, he WAS the worst. It's not the greatest travesty in reality TV history.

Or maybe Keibler was never mentioned on WWE ever again because she sucks? I'm sure if Jericho wanted to come back the WWE would jump in a heartbeat. Besides who knows if Keibler is even gone for good, it's only been a year since she left.

I didn't think Jericho was the worst, Carly Patterson was definitely the worst, but Jericho was next after her. I actually thought the Randy Travis songs were the best. Cheech worked surprisingly well with Travis and Leah Thompson sounded really good with Randy.

It's unfortunate the singers don't get kicked off because the person they really need to kick off the show is Michelle Williams, she has her third solo album coming out and yet both Alfonso Ribeiro and Jai Rodriguez both looked way better than her in their duets.

Oh well, atleast I won't have to leave Gilmore Girls or Veronica Mars to see how Jericho is doing the rest of the season.

Hopefully, Jericho will realize any possibility of being a mainstream celeb is not really possible for him beyond his C or D level achieved through VH1.
A return to wrestling would be GREAT. He could step right into the main even as a heel or face on SD! or, dare I say it, TNA. But there is no point (and I think he realizes this) in a return to Raw is just a return to being HHH's bitch.

I can't believe the stupidity of some TV series sometimes...couldn't the producers see what kind of experience a participant has, and then pair him or her up with a musician with similar talents? I mean...did anyone really think Jericho could tackle country music? I would have preferred to have seen him alongside, say....Brett Michaels for a song, or someone like that.

That said, I love Jericho's music...for what it's worth, Fozzy is a great old-school style metal band, and they have fun videos.

She's now a bigger star than everybody in WWE except for part-timer Hogan. She was never mentioned on WWE ever again because they're petty and once it became clear she had eclipsed their world where they control everybody, they felt they had nothing to gain by acknowledging her.

C/D celebhood, small acting parts, no bumps, and no constant travel might make for a better life than the alternative. Stacy, Jericho, Christian, Trish, Lita are getting out while the getting is ... not that good.

That's not to say I wouldn't be overjoyed to have my favorite wrestler back on TV. But it's kind of like the Kurt Angle situation, only not so tragic, where you're happier for the guy that he's been able to move on.

Justin hits the nail on the head. IWC fans seem to get up in arms when anyone walks away from wrestling, it's akin to the 'you sold out' chants in arenas.

There's nothing left for Jericho to do in wrestling y'know. He has enough money, he's headlined WM, he's been world champ etc. All that's left is to have more GOOD matches for us to salivate over, and honestly I'm sure he doesn't feel the need to kill his body for critical smart marks. I do expect him back eventually, more or less in the Mick Foley one or two program a year mold, mainly because that role comes with financial reward and more creative independence.

As for Stacey, the E spits up divas and leaves them on the side of the road. Look at the sad career of Torrie Wilson, who's being booked in horrible segments as she slowly ages her career away. Being a supporting player on a mid-level ABC sitcom is LIGHT YEARS better than being a WWE diva.

Bingo. The guy managed to get away with his sanity, his (relative) health, his family intact and enough money to live a comfortable existance with outside options on the horizon.

I love Jericho the performer to death and it would be super if he wants to come back for the Ash College Fund Match, but like Rocky more power to him if he decides he doesn't need or want to join the circus anymore.

Jeez. I like to think of myself as one of the foremost Shapiromarks around, but this really is streching it. She almost won, and I do remember hearing her name bandied about for a couple weeks, but WWE does sell-out arenas. Not being mentioned by the fickle, elitist press doesn't mean wrestlers aren't stars. I've always had a quarrel with that contention.

Now, WWE is petty, but still. I don't know too many people who would know who Stacy Keibler is who weren't aware of her before. The sitcom could, however, change that.

Couldn't agree more. Jericho is one of those guys that's always said that he was smart with his money. Plus he's been pretty adamant in interviews that he's accomplished every wrestling goal he'd set forth for himself. Now do I think we've seen the last Jericho match ever? No, but I don't blame the guy at all for taking a LOOOONG sabbitcal ...

I didn't mean to suggest that, although I can see how it came off that way. But with the possible exception of Cena, who gets tabbed for those kids award show dealies, I think being on a network sitcom and having a potato chip commercial makes you a bigger mainstream star than people who appear on Raw. Media fickleness and elitism notwithstanding, my point was more that we might tend to overvalue the stardom of being a World Wrestling Entertainment Superstar. I'd guess that Stacy is now probably more known and recognizable than someone like Triple H.

I don't think there's anything for Bischoff and WWE to work out. He's been on Legends with JBL and they've done a DVD about him since his TNA run. They seem to be on good enough terms.
