Wrestlingobserver.com:

--The Pillman DVD will be a 95 minute documentary on his career in football, Stampede Wrestling, Hollywood Blonds, Four Horseman, ECW, car accident Hart Foundation and more. The match list is:

*Bruce Hart & Brian Pillman vs. Midnight Cowboys 4/23/88 for International tag team titles
*Pillman vs. Lex Luger 10/28/89 Halloween Havoc
*Pillman & Tom Zenk vs. Michael Hayes & Jimmy Garvin 2/12/90
*Pillman & Austin doing "A Flare for the Old" segment on WCW TV
*War Games 1991 with Pillman & Sting & Steiners vs. Four Horsemen
*Pillman vs. Ricky Morton 10/27/91
*Pillman & El Gigante vs. Barry Windham & Arn Anderson 6/12/91 loser leaves town match to lead to the Yellow Dog angle
*Pillman & Windham vs. Johnny Gunn & Zenk 12/26/92
*Pillman & Austin vs. Ricky Steamboat & Shane Douglas 5/23/93
*WCW Thundercage with Pillman & Sting & Dustin Rhodes vs. Paul Orndorff & Austin & rick Rude
*Pillman vs. Jushin Liger from the first mach of the very first episode of Nitro
*Pillman vs. Dean Malenko 1/22/96 Nitro
*Pillman vs. Eddie Guerrero 1/23/96 Clash of Champions (where Pillmans scared Bobby Heenan half to death)
*Pillman vs. Austin 6/16/97 Raw
*7/6/97 Calgary Stampede Hart Foundation vs. Austin & Shamrock & LOD & Goldust (I can tell you from talking to Pillman right after this match ended that this match was the personal highlight of his career)
*Pillman vs. Goldust 9/7/97
*Pillman vs. Liger 2/22/92 SuperBrawl from Milwaukee
These are the dates WWE has listed. I know off the top of my head the SuperBrawl was 2/29/92 so others may be off as well

--Apparently WWE got rights to some old Portland Wrestling tapes, and all the Roddy Piper stuff from California must be gone. The Roddy Piper DVD has a 1 hour and 45 minute documentary on his career and ending with the Hall of Fame Ceremony.

Matches are:
*Roddy Piper & Mike Popovitch vs. Buddy Rose & Rip Oliver from Portland
*Piper vs. Buddy Rose from Portland
*Piper vs. Jack Brisco 7/7/82
*Piper vs. Greg Valentine dog collar match from the first Starrcade
*Piper & Orndorff vs. Hogan & Mr. T from the first Wrestlemania
*Piper vs. Mr. T from Wrestlemania II
*Piper vs. Iron Sheik from 10/4/86 Saturday Night Main Event
*Piper vs. Bob Orton from 11/29/86 Saturday Night Main Event
*Piper vs. Adrian Adonis form Wrestlemania III
*Piper vs. Hogan MTV special 2/18/85
*Piper vs Rick Rude cage match 12/28/89 MSG
*Piper vs. Badnews Brown (Badnews Allen) Wrestlemania VI
*Piper vs. Bret Hart Wrestlemania VII
*Piper vs. Mountie 1992 Royal Rumble
*Piper vs. Goldust Hollywood brawl Wrestlemania XII
*Piper vs. Hogan 12/29/96 Starrcade
There is also a huge collection of Piper's Pits, including the Frankie Williams one

--There is a fourth disc on the upcoming Hulk Hogan DVD that will be exclusive to Walmart and to Europe:
*Hulk Hogan vs. Tito Santana 3/24/80 MSG
*Hulk Hogan vs. Sonny Rogers & Chuck Greenley (one of his first AWA TV appearances in the summer of 1981)
*Hulk Hogan vs. Terry Funk from the Saturday Night's Main Event
*Hulk Hogan vs. Harley Race from Saturday Night's Main Event
*Hogan wins 1990 Royal Rumble
*Hogan vs. Earthquake SummerSlam 1990
*Hulk Hogan interview on the 10/3 Raw show

--OMG! That Pillman DVD looks so fīn great!! And it has War Games, Thundercage AND the 10 men tag match from Canadian Stampede as well??? I just hope everything is uncut!?

-- I thought the Hogan DVD already IS a 4 disc set?? I even read the match list somewhere a few weeks ago! Tons of matches and 4 discs ... Whatever! I wonīt buy it anyway!

--The one thing I really hate is that WWE uses so many Wrestlemania matches for their DVDs! Hoganīs DVD has approx. 10 or so! The same goes for the WWE title DVD and now for Piperīs! If you have the WM Anthology you really donīt wanna have all those matches again and again!

Noting the Brian Pillman DVD, I was a huge fan of his back in the days when he was Flyin' Bryan, and had the Bengal tights, and had always wondered if I'd get to see the match with him and El Gigante vs. Windham and Anderson in the loser leave town match. I was 9 at the time, and wondered the whole time during the match (not knowing what I did now) but if your career was on the line, why not utilize the giant guy, when If I recall correctly, Pillman worked most of the match...heh, silly kids with their false grasp of reality.

Why don't they just go ahead and take my money now?

And I am interested in the Piper v. Rude cage match.

I'd rather see Pillman and Zenk vs. The Midnight Express rather than a bad version of the Freebirds, but, WarGames finally escapes from the pit Vince had it hidden in. Forget everything else on the DVD, as soon as WarGames was mentioned, I was ready to purchase.
No Piper/Flair from Mid-Atlantic? I'll probably pass on this one.
September will be a busy DVD month for the company though, as the History of the WWF/E Championship Belt is available on September 5th, while Pillman and Piper both come out on September 26th. Since Amazon is allowing pre-orders of the Hogan disc even though no release date has been set, is it a safe bet that the Hogan DVD comes out the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and becomes Vince's Holiday Season DVD for the year?

The Piper dvd is a big disapointment. Only two matches from his start in Portland and almost nothing from his time in Mid-Atlanic and Georgia. I have stuff on old vhs comps of Piper in Mid-Atlantic & Georgia that is way better than this dvd offers. His feuds with Jack Brisco, Steamboat, and Tommy Rich were outrageous. And let me tell ya, the angle were he saved Gordon Solie in Georgia from an attack by Don Muroco still ranks as one othe best in wrestling history.

In response to Tyler, if these DVD sets are meant to be anthologies, then it's inevitable that some WM matches have to be included. You surely can't have a 'definitive' DVD for someone like Hogan without at least a half-dozen of his WM main events. To exclude them just because they're on another set pisses off the fans who don't have the WM anthology.

I'm hoping for the all-WarGames DVD set, which I'm praying is on the way since Dusty is working for WWE.

Scene: Mark DeRosa's brain. The year is 2005.
Part of Mark DeRosa's brain: Come on, another position change? One day it's second base, the next day right field, now it's third? Why, I oughta go into Buck's office and throw his talking fish on the floor!
Other part of Mark DeRosa's brain: Hold on, other part of the brain. We're making $500,000 this year. Last year we made $725,000. All for playing a damn kids' game. This is, as they say in Brainland, a no-"us"-er. We're not going to complain.
Part of Mark DeRosa's brain: You're right, dude. Let's go back to looking at this crazy porn Teixeira gave us!

While I don't think he actually had a match in ECW, I hope they show some of Pillman's interview footage from there. That stuff really was him at his "loose cannon" best.

You are perfectly right about that and Iīm pretty sure thereīs nothing to say or do about it, because itīs just logical, but for those of us who do not just buy one or 2 DVDs itīs starting to get really boring when there are some matches (like Shawn/Mankind, Shawn/Bret WM, Hogan/Sheik, Hogan/Warrior) we have at least 3 or 4 times in our collections! For now! Who knows on how many future releases they will include the same ones again and again!?

For example: If you buy those new Hulk Hogan and WWE title history DVDs you get:

    WWE Championship Match
    Iron Sheik vs. Hulk Hogan
    Madison Square Garden -1/23/84

Steel Cage Match For The WWE Championship
Hulk Hogan vs. King Kong Bundy
    Wrestlemania 2 - 4/5/86

Steel Cage Match For The WWE Championship
Hulk Hogan vs. "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff
    Saturday Night's Main Event - 1/3/87

    WWE Championship Match
Hulk Hogan vs. Andre The Giant
    Wrestlemania III -3/29/87

    WWE Championship Match
Randy "Macho Man" Savage vs. Hulk Hogan
    Wrestlemania V - 4/2/89

    WWE Championship Match
    Hulk Hogan vs. Ultimate Warrior
    Wrestlemania VI - 4/1/90

    TWICE!!

I know "the fans" voted for the WWE title history bouts and on the Hogan set you need all of those, but thatīs kind of sad! Especially (!) if you own the WM Anthology as well!

Going through the the-w Spend link to Amazon, it has it as shipping on September 26th, 2006. Perhaps outside the U.S. it will be 2 months later.
