Meh. Is this really that big a deal? The bashing I've seen on other sites and anticipate to see here is rather short-sighted. The main event finish is a means to an end - which is setting up Christian vs. Sting, and Jarrett vs. Samoa Joe.
Which would everyone rather? Joe beating Jarrett to signify a new era? Or Sting beating Jarrett to signify a step backward?
The right person kept the belt tonight. Sting is here to put people over and make stars. Jarrett winning tonight just means it's a bigger deal for the fans when Joe beats Jarrett.
Overall, decent PPV. I enjoyed it and look forward to more X-division matches as a result of this show. But keeping Gail Kim vs. Sirelda and a couple other matches... yeah, that was a questionable move. I'd rather have seen the 4-way tag team match. But we'll get all of that tag team stuff for free on the next Impact, from what Shane Douglas said tonight on The LAW.

Sting is not putting people over and making new stars. For 8 months he's feuded with Jeff Jarrett and no one else. He also can't keep up in the ring, and I think his performance in the last 2 main events cement that.
What happened to wrestling in an actual wrestling ring for a PPV main event? TNA has obviously forgotten.

I was half expecting -- after Steiner chaired Sting in the knee -- that Sting, too injured to continue, would be taken into the back, Jarrett would strut around the ring for 15 minutes, and then Sting would run back in, leg bandaged, and -- miraculously! courageously! -- beat Jarrett after all! But no.
My MOTN was TOTALLY the Brown/Joe/Rhino three-way -- man, what a fun match. Gee -- here's three guys, ANY of whom would be believable with the big belt, having a GREAT brawl, and the crowd is going NUTS over them (for what that's worth, considering Orlando).
Then there's the plodding, limping main event, which ANYONE would be, I think, hard pressed to put in even the top three matches of the night.
I think, personally (and this is in my "parallel universe"), the PPV would have been much improved if the Sting/JJ match was a "special attraction grudge match" or whatever, and the three-way had been the main event, and for the heavyweight title -- man, then TNA would still have the "name value" old guys for the people who think that'll bring viewers, but, in addition, the Heavyweight Title scene would be EXCITING. And has the Heavyweight Title scene in TNA EVER been exciting? Ever?

Nash's timing is impeccable. He's booked to job clean in the blow-off to all this X-Division bashing, and he "injures himself at home".
Agreed with Karlos. The three-way was definite match of the night. The show is starting to feel like late-era WCW: great undercard, sparsely booked, with convoluted, messy and generally poor main events. Still, I'll take it over SmackDown right now.
To those who say people wouldn't look; they wouldn't be interested; they're too complacent, indifferent and insulated, I can only reply: There is, in one reporter's opinion, considerable evidence against that contention. But even if they are right, what have they got to lose? Because if they are right, and this instrument is good for nothing but to entertain, amuse and insulate, then the tube is flickering now and we will soon see that the whole struggle is lost. This instrument can teach, it can illuminate; yes, and it can even inspire. But it can do so only to the extent that humans are determined to use it to those ends. Otherwise it is merely wires, and lights, in a box.-Edward R. Murrow
Did Christian make up his mind halfway through the match that he was turning on Sting? Was he just watching Sting wrestle and realized that he didn't want to help him win anymore, or did he take all those risks helping him in the match just to wait to make the turn at the end of the PPV?

Well, I would say that Christian 1) needed to make sure that Sting had 100% confidence in him so that Sting wouldn't be suspicious of Christian standing in the ring holding a guitar, and 2) wanted to wait until Sting was so worn down that he wouldn't be able to make a comeback post-treachery. Of course, I'm just making shit up.

(Oh, also: I have a certain sinking feeling that they really are building up to an Earl Hebner / Slick Johnson match.)

They went with the obvious ending, but I would say that the match could have easily gone the other way. Either way, whoever won this match was going to be Samoa Joe's opponent. I think it's better if Joe ends Jarrett's reign of terror anyway.
Unless Jarrett ends Joe's, which would be one of the biggest mistakes in wrestling history.

Well it's not like this is the company that put Double J over Raven, AJ Styles, Rhino, and their first breakout star Ron Killings.

And Raven, AJ, and Rhino all went over Jarrett for the title too, what's your point? Everybody in the main event is going to beat everybody else in the main event at some point.

If I recall correctly, Raven won a KotM (that Jarrett refused to participate in because he wasn't going to win), and then never defended it against Jarrett until he lost it in Canada.

Additionally, unless I'm mistaken, all of the examples provided are guys that Jarrett then subsequently went over to win the title again, and they never got their win back. There's a difference between winning and losing and ending a feud with Jarrett ultimately coming out on top (which in feuds he always seems to do).
Is it true that Daniels and Styles beat LAX, thereby hobbling a fantastic heel push? That may be the biggest mistake of the night. Konan's stable should have taken the belts.

Gotta agree here. That feud was the only one I really cared about, due almost entirely to the badassness of LAX. They should have either won or had some sort of not-so-clean finish so the rematch could be built up even more, to have a big finale at Bound For Glory. I'd like to see a cage to finish the feud off. I won't post it directly here, but the Impact spoilers over at the Observer see these teams getting a re-match. You'll be pleased by the results.
Doesn't take away from what was a great match, though. I have a feeling these two teams will be going at it for a while, possibly culminating with a 2 out of 3 falls match at the next PPV.
Here are some more thoughts from a demented mind in Central Florida: It's False is actually not far from the truth.

Per Monday night's Impact tapings, the episode in one or two weeks from now should have a segment in which a match is announced for No Surrender. AJ/Daniels vs. LAX - First Ever Ultimate X Match for the NWA World Tag Team Titles.

The first pic has been around, and happened months ago. The second pic was posted somewhere here, soon after RAW. Not much to see on the second one, though.
