Saw it in the store today - passed. One looks like a direct response to Black Cherry Vanilla Coke, while the other one - well, who needs a strawberries 'n' creme diet cola? Almost seems like a direct response to the Berries 'n' Creme Dr Pepper, except with different berries. Seriously, Diet Wild Cherry Pepsi is just fine, don't take its space away with these other things. (Have they discontinued THEIR vanilla yet?)
Other than that, hey, haven't had a soda thread in a while. ;-)
I've seen the return of the Vanilla on my store's shelf here in Fresno, as well as the Lime. I tried the Strawberries and Cream JAZZ Diet Pepsi, and it was...not that good.

I kept meaning to start this thread and forgetting so I'm glad to see CRZ did it although clicking that link was definitely not safe for the ears.

Actually, of the two flavors, the Strawberries and Cream is the much better one. The Black Cherry and French Vanilla combo was just awful. The general consensus in our house was that it tasted a whole lot like stale baseball card chewing gum.

OH MAN I love soda. I'll have to look for these on my next trip to Minot. But really, the mere existense of Diet Wild Cherry Pepsi is exciting enough - we don't get IT here either - so I'd likely just grab a few bottles to try instead of bringing back a whole case.
Besides, it can't be any worse than Holiday Spice Pepsi.
Little bit off topic, but has anyone here tried the Jolly Rancher sodas? They really caught my attention, but I only saw them in a bulk pack and I'm not sure I want to buy a bunch of soda I won't drink.
No, but I tried the Bubble-Yum soda I saw at 7-11. It was kinda like drinking carbonated bubblegum flavored spit.

Holy crap...they still make that stuff? I remember trying it when I was 12 or something. I was disappointed...for a drink that has a BUBBLE GUM name on it, it tasted nothing of the sort.
I'd be very interested in finding out how the new Jazz drinks are...but I'm still awaiting the Coca Cola Blak to come to Canada.
Here, look at the monkey! Look at the silly monkey!
Haven't tried this new flavor, but from some of the posts, it looks like I was one of the minority who like the Black Cherry Vanilla Coke. Granted, it's not for everyone, but I tend to especially like it during dinner.
I didn't like the Berries & Cream Dr. Pepper, so I'm a bit leery of Strawberries & Cream.

Count me in as a part of that minority that likes Black Cherry Vanilla Coke. I think the folks at Coca-Cola hit the ball out of the park with this particular iteration of Coke, and it's far better than Vanilla Coke, IMO.
Berries & Cream Dr. Pepper? YUCK! Just, yecch! And I'm not too keen on that other flavored Dr. Pepper, either. I mean geez! The two sodas taste like they don't even have Dr. Pepper in them-- AT ALL. Am I the only one who feels that way?
Lastly, I used to read the soda threads and scratch my head about how many people liked diet sodas. Well, let me tell you-- I have seen the light! Lately, I've had Diet Coke with Lime, Diet Pepsi with Lime, Diet Sunkist (which does NOT have caffeine like its sugar counterpart), Diet Mountain Dew, and Diet Wild Cherry Pepsi-- which may very well be the best soda I've had since I was a Josta (with Guarana) junkie. The taste of Diet Wild Cherry Pepsi shocked me, mainly because I LOVE the sugar version.
Sorry to get off on a tangent, but to respond to RKM's post...
I've been on the Diet Soda kick since New Years...I guess kind of my New Years Resolution....and after a bunch of trial and error, there are a small handful that I actually enjoy...
Coke Zero is my favorite right now, as you can't tell you're drinking a Diet drink. Diet Coke, Diet Cherry Coke, and Diet Black Cherry Vanilla Coke are good as well.
I was surprised how good Diet Wild Cherry Pepsi was, and I actually prefer Diet Pepsi to Diet Coke straight up.
Diet Mt. Dew is good as well, but I can't say the same for Coke's competition Diet Vault.
Diet Sprite is also another of my favorites, on the other hand, Diet 7UP is the worst stuff ever. I've yet to try Diet Sierra Mist.
Diet Dr. Pepper is good if I just need to have a Dr. Pepper, and sometimes the Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper isn't bad neither.
I switched to diet soda when I started dieting, and kept it up even when I didn't couldn't give up some of the non-healthy foods.
I buy whatever soda has the best deal at the grocery store when I'm there.
Diet Cherry Colas are usually good, as is Dt Dr Pepper. I do drink Dt Ch Van Dr Pepper as well. Dt Code Red Mt Dew. Coke Zero or Pepsi One. Dt Sunkist as RKMtwin mentioned. Vault Zero, while not as good as the Surge that I loved back in the day, is pretty good. Some of the flavored Dt Rites are good. I especially like the White Grape. Dt Mug Root Beer can be good once in a while. I don't care for the regular flavored diet colas, or for Dt Mt Dew, or any of the Dt Lemon Lime flavors. I don't like the Dt Coke with Lemon or Diet Coke with Lime either.
I just tried the Black Cherry Jazz, and it was....different. Not horrible, but not good enough for me to buy again. I will stick to the Cherry Vanilla Diet Dr Pepper, which is plenty good. Just having moved from NJ to NC, I just found Caffeine Free Diet Dr Pepper, and me likey....
Ick. I don't care if they make Diet Coke now with Morphine flavor... it's still Diet. It doesn't taste right, it has a different mouth feel, and if I just want a caffine delivery system I'd rather put the fizzing caffine tablets I have into a bottle of water than drink diet soda.
There's some question as to if some of the sugar substitutes are still processed by the body much in the same way as sugar, so there may not be much health benefit of drinking diet as opposed to regular. I'd rather treat myself to real soda in moderation. At least then I know for sure I'm being bad to my body and I can adjust my behavior to compensate.

Fizzing caffiene tabs? Sounds good...where do you get those? I have some caffiene tabs called WAKE-UPS that just don't work. I think, for a wake-up, nothing beats coffee.

Yeah, the amount of corn products we eat is truly astounding, and may possibly lead to a huge culture collapse when something starts attacking the corn crop. (I mean disease, blight or other agricultural problems, not terrorist plots to destroy all of our corn... though technically that would probably do more long term damage to this country than a biological weapon against humans) I simply mean that there's no way to talk yourself into thinking you're doing something "good" for yourself when you're drinking a non-diet soda.
The fizzing caffine tablets I used (not as much need now that I'm not in school) are called "Umph" which I get here: http://www.thinkgeek.com/caffeine/drinks/6b4f/ they have a slight lemon-lime taste, are a bit bitter, but they pack as much uhmp as a redbull.

I changed from Coke to Coke Zero last November, on doctor's orders to quit the sugar. That was 33 pounds ago. As for how the body processes the sugar substitutes, I have seen for myself how the blood sugar levels have plummetted. Yes, there is some question as to whether the blood sugar reduction is is due to the associated weight loss, or the reduction of sugar itself from my diet. Since I averaged 5 cans of Coke per day, that meant I have cut out roughly 700 calories per day.
I can't help but be pleased in the results, and don't know if I want to think about what other harm the Zero is doing to my body - it has to be better than I was doing before.
But, back on topic, I tried the Jazz Diet Pepsi and didn't care for it. I would like to try that Morphine flavor one, though as long as it has the caffeine.

That's the same reaction I have whenever people give me grief about the artificial sweeteners in diet soda. I lost 125 pounds, negating a proven health risk. The alleged dangers of artificial sweeteners are merely a potential health risk. I'll take the the potential risk over the proven one.
