It looks like the wellness policy even extends to injured main eventers. Batista looked like the Rock in that movie picture that was on this board a few weeks ago. I am all for no 'roids since I am not impressed by big bodies, but rather by tough, shoot-style wrestling.

Batista existed primarily because of his mass, I wonder if his main event career, which was gonna be short anyway will be even shorter.

I try not to say "this show sucked", but besides making Matt Hardy look good, it didnt do much for me.

They missed a great chance to do a unique ending to a battle royal (like the one in the 80's that ended with two faces flipping a coin to determine the winner). Booker and Regal should have put away Hardy, then Regal could have gone over the top rope by himself. This would have made the alliance between King Booker and his court even stronger and increased his heat.

All the other segments were predictible filler as far as I'm concerned. Mostly squash matches.

I just remembered that im absent minded
wait i mean i lost my mind, i cant find it.

You kiddin'? I liked the show. Matt Hardy finally got to kick all kinds of ass after having been relegated to the (recently departed) Velocity for quite some time. Mark Henry finally became the subject of the song "Somebody's gonna get they ass kicked", instead of the song referring to his opponent. And he got his ass KICKED by Batista, big-fuckin'-time, how could one not like that?

Booker T getting a World Title shot and main-eventing a pay-per-view? I can dig that, sucka.

Oh my, that beatdown was outstanding. Mizark sold the ass-kicking like a pro. And Batista dropping some muscle mass can only mean good things when it comes to his in-ring abilities. Hardy being booked like Superman in the battle royal was a pleasant turn of events too. The rest was pretty bad.

To those who say people wouldn't look; they wouldn't be interested; they're too complacent, indifferent and insulated, I can only reply: There is, in one reporter's opinion, considerable evidence against that contention. But even if they are right, what have they got to lose? Because if they are right, and this instrument is good for nothing but to entertain, amuse and insulate, then the tube is flickering now and we will soon see that the whole struggle is lost. This instrument can teach, it can illuminate; yes, and it can even inspire. But it can do so only to the extent that humans are determined to use it to those ends. I liked that, but it was tainted somewhat by having Rey come out only to be instantly destroyed again.

The backstage Regal/Finlay/Leprechaun interaction was nice, as was JBL referring to Ashley as Vito's "freakin' beard" and his line about getting into trouble for calling Mexicans immigrants while Cole was calling them "monkeys" (out of context). In fact JBL continues to be just about funny enough for me to overlook his OTT-ness.

Although i knew it would be a squash i can't think of any 2 wrestlers i'd like to see less than Khali and Tatanka.

Amazing how much younger Rey Mysterio looked after shaving off his albeit, minimal bit of facial hair.

Has anyone commented on Tatanka's tribute to Adam Ant ?

JBHell's continuously repeated line of the week about Mexican hotdog sellers grinds on you.

I'm sure we will be back to 'Goodnight Sweet Prince' next week.

I concur, but would put a "current" in there just to cover my ass.

Could you imagine replacing Cole with King Booker? I'm sprouting wood just thinking about it!

Not a good show? Now I have missed the last several Smackdowns for various reasons but I kinda liked this one. Tag team Pit Bulls actually wrestled and there was more wrestling in Smackdown in an hour than there is on RAW in the whole 2 hours. Caught the last of the battle royal but it seemed decent also. I will say though that Regal running around yelling "All hail King Booker" Was really annoying.

Is it me or does Kash look like Owen Hart? Never really looked close until last night and dang they resemble each other.....

So the question is ... does Rey drop the title to King Booker at the GAB & we get Booker vs. Batista at SS? I'm intrigued.

That would be intriguing. Booker/Batista II: This Time It's Fake. But I don't like the idea of Booker getting the belt for a month just so the title can be on huge guy instead of tiny guy. It'd be wasting the greatness of a King Booker reign (NO PUN INTENDED!!).

Actually, a Booker/Rey/Batista three-way bout might be fun for Summerslam, since it could be WWE's chance to remake the Eddie/Orton/Batista dynamic they intended for Wrestlemania before Eddie passed away. It just depends on what direction they intend to go with Batista, since I doubt they'd have to bring back their mega-face just to turn him heel, but Rey can't really work as a heel either.

Scene: Mark DeRosa's brain. The year is 2005.
Part of Mark DeRosa's brain: Come on, another position change? One day it's second base, the next day right field, now it's third? Why, I oughta go into Buck's office and throw his talking fish on the floor!
Other part of Mark DeRosa's brain: Hold on, other part of the brain. We're making $500,000 this year. Last year we made $725,000. All for playing a damn kids' game. This is, as they say in Brainland, a no-"us"-er. We're not going to complain.
Part of Mark DeRosa's brain: You're right, dude. Let's go back to looking at this crazy porn Teixeira gave us!

If Booker T beats Mysterio, he will become the last person to have won both the NWA/WCW and WWE World Titles, joining Hogan, Savage, Flair, Giant/Big Show, Sid, Bret Hart, Nash, Buddy Rogers and I think that's it. WWE seems to recognize Benoit as a former WCW champ, and he has won the World Heavyweight title, so that's a seperate club and I guess he could still win the WWE title, but I tend to not consider him a former WCW champ.

This also doesn't take into account the WWE-controlled WCW title, which would add Kurt Angle to the list. And I guess Jericho, HHH, Undertaker and The Rock as well, since they technically held both belts at once.

I'd say Booker would also be the most surprising/least likely member of this fraternity, by far.

I also feel like I should say, after ten years of the trying, WWE has finally gotten me interested in something Mark Henry is doing. And I don't mean interested in a "oh my God, a HAND?!?" way, I mean a "I want to watch and see the payoff to this" way. I liked revisiting all the pain he's inflicted upon people in recent months.

EDIT: Actually, thinking about it, the WWE Title on Smackdown is actually still the same as the old Undisputed Title, since Lesnar just stopped going on RAW. So I guess if you take WWE's version of the WCW title into account, than everyone who has held that belt since Jericho unified the titles joins the list. Which definitely means the WWE version doesn't count. Whatever, I'm worrying about it too much. The point is, good for Booker T. All hail King Booker.

Mysterio's belt is the same as the one that Benoit won. Booker wouldn't be the WWE/WCW club.

I think you have to take WWE world champion less in terms of direct or indirect lineage and more in terms of "a world title awarded by WWE." Of course, it means less now that they give out two of them, and there's a case to be made that whichever belt has been on Smackdown since Wrestlemania 20 has been secondary while the Raw one has always been the #1 title.

So would you count RVD as the only wrestler to hold 7 different WWE titles when you include the new ECW title under WWE control solely.

He's had the WWE, Intercontinental, European, Hardcore, World Tag Team and Tag Team belts as well.

I wouldn't myself count any WCW title that WWF used in the statistics.
