Unfortunately, myself and Mrs. Tep weren't as impressed with the series as we were with the first two Blade movies.
I don't think Sticky Fingaz was bad as a replacement of Wesley Snipes, but Snipes brought a bit more to the role (i.e. hair).
The writing is what KILLED this show. I'll put this under a spoiler anyway even though it doesn't really spoil anything of the plot, just to be safe:

Krista pulling the fire alarm is one thing, but EVERYBODY -- EVERYBODY leaving the police station because of that? Come on. Implausibility -- line one is for you.
I'd say the only plus was the actress who played Krista... who was pretty cute.

Emphasis mine. It's worth noting that there was a promo that has been airing that hyped it as "from the people who brought you Blade Trinity." That was enough for me not to bother watching.
I actually thought they were saying "From the people that broguth you THE Blade Trinity" as in all 3 movies. That is the only reason I was going to check it out this weekend (oh yes, it will be on ALL weekend I am sure). But if it is what you say (only Blade Trinity) I may pass as I hated that movie so much it almost made me forget how good I and II were.
Give me a Sandwich and a Douchebag and there's nothing I can't accomplish!
To those who say people wouldn't look; they wouldn't be interested; they're too complacent, indifferent and insulated, I can only reply: There is, in one reporter's opinion, considerable evidence against that contention. But even if they are right, what have they got to lose? Because if they are right, and this instrument is good for nothing but to entertain, amuse and insulate, then the tube is flickering now and we will soon see that the whole struggle is lost. This instrument can teach, it can illuminate; yes, and it can even inspire. But it can do so only to the extent that humans are determined to use it to those ends. Otherwise it is merely wires, and lights, in a box.-Edward R. Murrow
I guess I am in the minority but I watched it with all intent to loath it, mostly from all the negative Internet buzz (especially aintitcool) but I ended up enjoying it. Sticky Fingers is a midget and his Snipes accent is laughable. But when the story didn't focus on him and on the Vampire clan, it was really interesting. If they keep the focus on the politics and culture of the Vamps (and thumbs up for mentioning the possibility of Lycans showing up, screw Underworld) this show has a chance. It reminded me of the underrated, undeserving cancled Kindred: The Embrace more then Buffy. Since the 2 hour pilot is free on iTunes, give it a chance. More and more I find myself being at disagreement with the online geek community. Or maybe it is because I read how much something will suck and I go in with low expectations, and end up surprised, like I did with X-Men: The Last Stand and Ultraviolet (The Movie).
Yeah it was too bad what happened to him on the Shield, but didnt he get beat up on MTV years ago? I will give him credit, he did bulk up, comparable in size to his old rival 50 Cent.
I really enjoyed it. (backofthehead.com) SPOILERS. If you're sold out of seeing Django Unchained on Christmas and have to pick a default movie to see instead, make it Jack Reacher.
