For whatever it's worth, living in Virginia Beach I just saw a local commercial for SummerSlam (which will take place in Norfolk on July 2nd), and they announced a couple of matches for the pay-per-view.
They said that John Cena and Edge would battle in a no-holds-barred match for the WWE Championship (which potentially spoils the result of Vengeance's main event, of course), and that Shawn Michaels would battle the Spirit Squad in (for some reason) a three-on-one handicap match.
Given that I've seen some outlandish matches announced on local ads before (though I can't remember specifics at this moment), take this with a large grain of salt.

Well considering I live in Boston and know for a fact that SummerSlam is being held here in Boston in Sunday, August 27th at the TD BankNorth Garden. Therfore you are totally incorrect. The ad you saw is referring to a house show called 'SummerSlam Tour' and NOT THE PPV itself.
Sorry... and how's that load of "salt"

We had a local ad DC during Raw and they are advertising the Tuesday, August 15th Smackdown! and ECW show as being the last SD! before SummerSlam.
Are you sure SummerSlam is on the 27th and not the 20th?

(edited by Mr. Boffo on 20.6.06 0821) In the real world, WWE believes that no matter what our race, religious creed or ethnic background in America, we all share the common bond of being Americans. American-Arabs are a part of the fabric of America, and they should be embraced by all of us.
What Eke is referring to is a house show called "WWE's Biggest Party" in Norfolk. I checked for tickets yesterday and the front rows are already sold out..at least the ones that have 3 seats in a row...
It still bears pointing out that the advertisement, though just for a house show, STILL lists Cena/Edge for the title and may potentially have spoiled the result for Sunday. However, given the short-sighted nature of bookings and similar gaffes in the past, I'm not reading anything into it at this point. If it is a case (as I suspect) of them producing the commercial before deciding to pull the trigger on the Van Dam title change, it just goes to show how little they care about house show advertising (seriously - it's not THAT HARD to re-edit the commercial and do another voiceover).

It's not worth spending the money I assume. I mean the WWE doesn't directly handle the advertising. To track down all the different markets, print, radio, local tv, etc that's a lot of not worth it work. Every card is advertised as "SUBJECT TO CHANGE" for a reason
