I have to go with the Oilers, since they beat the Ducks who I was rooting for..
Plus I got goosebumps listening to the Canadian anthem being sung by the crowd so I wanna see how things will get there when they get to raise the Grail.
This is the first series ever I get to see live on tv here in Holland and I am pretty hyped about it. Several sleepless nights await me.
Originally posted by Olivermethinks the Hurricanes will be tired because their series went to seven...so if Edmonton plays a tight game, they could beat Carolina in five.
So, that's my prediction: Edmonton in five.
As a side note, I'd kill to see them bust out some classic WHL uniforms for one of the games. Not that it would likely happen, but still...
WHA! They should find the old Avco Cup, certainly.
I don't think the long series should affect Carolina too much, as the Final doesn't start until Monday-four days off. The Oilers will have rested for nine days, and some folks say that's too much. So who knows?
I type this with a smile on my face from my desk at work, where my Hurricanes license plate is hung up on the site of my cubicle ... My Hurricanes mini-Stanley cup sits next to my Hurricanes hockey puck, Whalers hockey puck, and Staal hockey puck ... I'm wearing my old beaten up Hurricanes jersey, and the office is annoyed because I've claimed $50 off of several people I placed bets with for the last round.
Oh yes, I'm psyched! 2nd time in four years we've made it to the dance, and they look HUNGRY!!!!
When Whitney/Recchi/Weight is your third line, you've got some SERIOUS depth! The Oilers are dead.
Edit: I forgot to mention the Hurricanes mouse-pad where my hand rests throughout the course of any given day...
Though I stand to win a lot of money in a hockey pool with a Canes victory (heck, I may have already won....damn, where are those standings?!), I cannot abide by another southern US franchise winning the Cup over a Canadian team. So, Oilers in six.

'Canes in 6. Edmonton has been off too long, and after the way that Carolina shook off that bad hop goal late in the 2nd in Game 7, that tilted it toward them for me.

I turned off RAW to see the last 10 minutes of the game, and boy am I glad I did. I turned the game off after the 1st period, thinking that Edmonton totally out-played Carolina, and the 'Canes didn't have a chance. Nevermind.
Hey, we may have won on a cheap goal, but I'll take it. And those final 45 seconds, with the Oilers going on a shooting-rampage and Ward blocking all of the shots was heart-attack inducing.
Brett Hull always rubbed me the wrong way. The smug, Cheshire-cat grin, the casual attitude, the whining in the press ... he always seemed to me to be in it for himself, and didn't disguise the fact. But I've changed my mind the last few years.
