Anybody else catch the premier of this tonite? Seems like the LA feld had a LOT of celebs that you probably should know, at least if you watched VH1 in the past theree years.
Overall, a lot of promising performers. Hope the season doesnt get relegated to Bravo or whatever network it got turfed out to last time.
I usually don't like women comics but the blonde chick with the racist, off color jokes had me laughin. It was really funny to watch the talent scout Ross stone face all the comics except for the guy with the really big head. Not that the big headed guy was that funny.
It was cool to see Jim Wiggins back again. I still don't think he's gettin a fair shake...It was bad to see Buck Star again, what's up with that guy? Didn't he get a call back last season too?

Not only did he get a call back, but I'm pretty certain he was actually a location scout or a production assistant or something. Regardless, gainfully employed by the producers.
Well, I guess I feel a little relief that BuckStar is part of the company. I'd hate to think that someone was putting in the time money, and effort to follow this thing around on an ongoing basis on his own dime, and still coming up with such lame material for his tryouts.
Overall, though, I liked the show. Jon Fisch--I think that's his name, the guy who did the bit on how the woman told him he was a good cuddler--is an early favorite. The line that cracked me up the most was Flip Schwartz building up how blase Jews would be at a "Jewish rock" concert and then going "Did you use your coupon?" and having them roar. I'm one cheap Jew, so that got me.
There were a few times where I didn't agree with who went on, notably the 19-year-old with the gay dad and Sumar (I think), the Indian woman who imitated her mother overacting. Then again, you never know how reliable the chosen clips are in showing how good the act was. My girlfriend pointed out that they probably save some of the best material from the semi-finalists for later shows (but there'd be no reason to save anything good from those who get cut.)
And, yeah, it was really nice to see Wiggins again.
I liked Josh Blue too. (It seemed, incidentally, that the morning auditions shown from New York were the worst of the bunch, but the nighttime New York clips were the best.) Didn't like the buy with the big head, though.

And here I was worried that this season we wouldn't get to see another Dat Phan who does one generic voice OVER AND OVER AGAIN and incorporates it into ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING.
Holy. Jesus. They KILLED him. I know Dat was laughing the whole time, but you could tell it was forced. And how could it NOT be? That's roast-level stuff for a guy just getting started in the biz.

I liked when they made him do a French accent... and it wasn't that bad at which no one was more surprised than him.
I watched or tried to. Some of it was mildly amusing. Maybe I am just getting old, but I felt like I was being yelled at alot and to little effect except to make me turn the channel.

So we're watching this again tonight since my wife didn't watch it the other night. She's not convinced that Buck Star works for the company. What's your source on his employment, she wants to know?

Rumors on the Internets during season two. There's a reference here (cringehumor.net). A more recent guess here (sheckymagazine.com) as well.
And didn't his show win a daytime Emmy...before being cancelled? Uh oh. I read this a couple of days ago, and my favorite part was where Oprah got a clip of her talking to Dave Chappelle beamed directly to his TV.
