They gave me plenty of answers but I'm still sitting here in shock over the fate of Jack,Kate,Sawyer,Locke,Eko,and Desmond...

It is going to be one hell of a long wait until LOST comes back in October.

That was really a wild episode and made the slow build really worth it. They really answered a lot this week and yet there is so much that they haven't even touched yet. ... Desmond caused the freakin' crash!

There's a lot to get back to.

The four-toed statue.

discuss.

if you can.

(that seems like something that could have waited until next season.)

That would have been a big ass statue in the middle of nowhere.

How did Penny know to look for Desmond in such a way? Tracking electromagnitsm seems like an awful longshot.

Wow.

I had previously read somewhere the theory that when the Pearl Orientation video mentioned that the people under observation would do something regularly, that they were referring to the injections of 'vaccine' and not pushing the button. It certainly seems like that might be correct. Though I can only guess that at some point, those books were being read instead of just deposited in the jungle.

I like how they more or less tied together everything stemming from the hatch(es) this season, such as the printout from the Pearl hatch, and the creation of the blacklight map. I was hoping we might get a Kelvin flashback someday, but oh well.

Clever editing and blocking with Walt to make him not look as tall. Just like last season, we last see Walt leaving on the same boat. I can't wait to find out what *Gale* meant when he said they got more from Walt than they expected.

The Quarantine hatch door flying down in the middle of the camp was the Holy Shit moment of the night for me. Good to see Charlie made it back. I can only wonder if Locke and Eko survived too. (They have to have, right?) Probably not a good summer for AAA and Terry O'Quinn to try and negotiate a raise. After introducing Desmond with him sitting there in the ship, with the rifle in one hand and the bottle in the other, I wouldn't mind him sticking around. Only question is WHY DIDN'T THEY TALK ABOUT ALL OF THIS LAST TIME?

Also, is Dharma supplying them with all that liquor on the island?

I so wanted Hurley to tackle Michael when he found out that he killed Libby. I loved the fake-out with the 'hurley bird' that tipped Michael off to the fact that his gun was empty.

So I guess this is the first time we've gone 'off the island'? I have a feeling that Penny Widmore knew how to try to find the island probably because her father set Desmond up to crash there, which probably means that Widmore ties into Hanso and DeGroot and Dharma, etc. That only makes sense given the Widmore references we've been getting this season. It seems early to start suggesting they might be rescued (at least two more seasons to go, right?), but who knows how long it will take? I wonder if there's a connection between those people in what looks like an arctic condition, and the polar bears being 'renormalized' on the island. (or whatever the door said...)

So... if Gale and the Others are the good guys, who are the bad guys?

You believe me, don't you?

I never suspected that "Henry" was top dog of the Others. They didn't really touch on the fact that Sawyer or Kate shot and killed an "Other"

The four-toed statue, the arctic window and the hatch flying out of the sky... makes me think that Desmond's "snowglobe" idea might have some validity.

When Clancy Brown unmasked I said: "Lex. Frickin'. Luthor!!" Dang, that guy rules.

Desmond needs to stick around, brother. He'll probably be a big part of Season 3. Loooong wait until September.

From the flashback (paraphrasing, natch):

Penelope: "With enough money and determination, you can find anyone"

This was such a good episode. I wish I were watching it again right now. My mind boggles for the S3 premiere. What about the fates of Eko, Locke, Desmond, and Michael/Walt? I'm going to be shocked if Eko and Locke leave the hatch, appearing to be fine... and now with 4 toes.

I think the final three minutes are going to turn out to be a key to the whole show. I'm pretty that's the only non-flashback scene that hasn't taken place on or around the island.

And, to blow your mind, did Penelope Widmore's ship have... Jack's 'Bad Twin' (i57.photobucket.com)?

Nice of Dharma to supply plenty of hard liquor to people who's job is to SAVE THE WORLD.

So if Michael and Walt are indeed eventually rescued, what does Michael tell Walt when Walt wants to know why they aren't immediately telling the authorities about their fellow airline passengers needing rescued ?

I thought when Michael confessed to killing Ana Marie and Libby, they all took it alot better than they should have. I thought for sure Hurley was gonna pull a gun out and kill Michael right there.

I hope the writers eventually plan on explaining the explosions in the jungle with the ghostly black smoke and the things that grab your legs and try to drag you into a hole in the ground.

I wonder if the death of Libby's husband is what put her in the mental institution.

Should be interesting to see how Michael and Walt are "rescued". That boat isn't made to travel across the ocean, and I'm sure the others will want their boat back.

Libby's husband is named David, right?

What's the name of Hurley's imaginary friend from the institution?

Maybe Hurley knew a real Dave who may have died in the porch incident.

Hurley didn't have a gun, Kevin.

Charlie continues to get the hell beat out of him. Nice to see the return of the Sith Grin when he caught Locke crying.

So many answers yet so many questions. Great episode. I was even willing to suspend all sense of reality when Charlie & Eko came out of the blast unscathed and with only minor hearing problems. Jack, Kate & Sawyer have to have some hope in the back of their minds knowing that Sayid & Jin will be looking for them. How can Michael just leave ? I have this feeling that he will be back sooner than later. He still needs to die for his actions in the hatch. I also think that we haven't seen the end of Dirty Libby in that her CBS show is bound to get cancelled quickly so that will free her up for future flashbacks.

It's going to be a long summer and I know I will get sucked into every little LOST tidbit that is thrown out there - games, books, webisodes - I can't help myself

I'm sure Locke and Ecko aren't dead. Right? Right?
I assume Desmond is dead, but that sucks because he was a fascinating character. Did anyone notice that his full name is Desmond David Hume - Ala Scottish empiricist philosopher David Hume?
I'm still just blown away. The giant foot was incredible. I guess when Michael and Walt go a certain distance in that direction, they will emerge from the interdimensional watchamacallit and can be rescued. There's probably a main shipping lane out there or something.
I wonder if Sayid (who is the smartest person on the island) followed the Others to the dock and is now lurking, waiting for a chance to strike/follow or something.
My guess is that Pen Whidmore found some of her dad's documents or something that told of the Dharma Initiative. So she knows there is a secret island with massive electromagnetic stuff, but has crews all over the ocean searching for it.

I was thinking that not only was the statue maybe part of something large, but also the structure that may have been there also (where the fake camp was set up). I was thinking that Desmond turning the key was an "I am about to die" moment, but would they kill him off without having him read the Dickens book beforehand? I do hope he makes it to the next season, at least so he and Sayid can compare Inman notes.

Does anyone else think that Sun going along with Jin and Sayid translate into The Others going after her as they went after Claire?

Also...."Henry" is a big fat liar. I mean, he HAD to have pressed the button. Since he said later that he didn't, surely he had to realize that eventually they would let the button go, and to me, that means that the whole "everything turns white" event, while wicked-cool, was not THAT big of a deal...

Best line, IMO: "We locked out...a priest??"

Even though we saw the picture of Desmond at her bedside, we don't know that her search for an EMP has anything to do with finding him. Could be yet another coincidence.

And it took me forever to remember that she was the wife from HBO's "Mind of the Married Man." She was the lone memorable element of the show.

So I was checking out this week's Hanso website (hansocareers.com). It has a list of five open positions and while the content provides all sorts of clues and speculation, I found it peculiar that certain letters on each page were colored differently.

The letters:
Page 1: N S
Page 2: L U T
Page 3: M I E
Page 4: M A
Page 5: Y A

Apparently a word scramble of some sort. You can spell out the hindu phrase "NAMASTE" which seems to be a favorite of the Hanso Foundation. But I have no clue what to make of the remaining five letters : M I L U Y

Anyone have an idea?
