-- I expected to see Darkseid and Luthor as part of the Source Wall. And no appearance from Orion, Miracle or Barda.

-- Love how characters were framed. Most of the Ditko characters together. JL Detroit, the SSOV, etc.

I miss the show very much.

And the Timm-verse finally rides off into the sunset. What a fantastic 15 years and it certainly went out with a huge bang.

Highlights of this episode include:

-Superman vs. Darkseid, one last time. Even at his absolute most "super", Supes STILL can't get the best of Darkseid.
-Batman avoiding the Omega Effect, much to Darkseid's shock.
-One final interaction between Flash and GL.
-The Question running down various grunts with his car.
-J'onn's return. I had actually completely forgotten about him and marked out once he came back.

And finally...

-Lex Luthor's swansong. In context of the series, this was a wonderful way for him to go out. At his very root, Lex sought ultimate knowledge (which was why he was so obsessed with Brainiac). When he got the Anti-Life Equation, he had that ultimate knowledge. Therefore he had no reason to continue on and thus sacrificed himself.

Overall, this season was a great service to the fans. It was a "Battle of the Superfriends" for a new generation. And best of all, it gave just about all the main characters a good send-off and a sense of closure, while still leaving certain areas open for any potential future endeavors, like direct-to-DVD projects. In fact, I'm hoping Bruce Timm follows through with those plans (as he's stated he's wanted to), because there's still plenty of open storylines to visit.

After all, we never DID find out what happened to Amazo.

Ahh..good call. I should have caught those framings. I knew there was some pattern to them, but couldn't put my finger on it.

Thought it was a very nice (and expected) touch how the final shot centered on Batman. Since this was essentially the end of the DC Animated universe, it was cool to bring it full-circle, back to Batman.

I'm sure somebody else has thought of this: but with the last two episodes being titled "Alive!" and "Destroyer"...if there had been aditional episodes, I think it's safe to say they would've been called "Rock n' Roll Over" and "Love Gun".

Leaving it open was a good move. I'm sure they'll have a special direct-to-DVD JLU movie in the next few years.

Awesome ending. Confirmed my suspicions that Superman is always holding something back. Would've liked to have seen more of that fight, but there's only so much you can do in a half hour. Great to see the Martian again, wouldn't have been right to end the season without all 7 original Leaguers. Just a great episode all around. Does anyone know what the official word is on Supergirl and the Legion of Superheroes?

It's become Superboy (LEGAL LANDMINE~!) and the Titans guys are running it.

As soon as the old Chinese man said he had business I screamed "John!" out loud. That's how dorky I am.

"These are the end times." "Why don't we just launch it into the sun?" Oh I missed you Flash. You'd get your own movie in a perfect world.

How did it turn into Superboy? We saw Supergirl go into the future. Why would they do an episode where they send her into the future if they're going to sub in Superboy?

Because it's not the same crew OR universe.

Don't look at me, last time I checked they lost the rights to Superboy AND I'd rather have Burnett on another show (though Murakami grew on me)

Actually, producer/director/writer James Tucker also helped produce JLU. So he's a part of the old crew, but it isn't the same universe.

Bradley Cooper's first movie as the solo headlining star made some money this weekend and came in at #1 at the box office, but I thought it kind of sucked.
