1. 1996, NHL Western Conference semifinals, Game 7: Steve Yzerman puts in a slap shot with under two minutes to go in double OT to give the Red Wings a 1-0 win over the Blues in the first hockey game I ever attended. Damn I hate the Red Wings.
2. Bucs 38, Rams 35, Monday Night Football, 2000: The previous year, the Bucs had been screwed out of a Super Bowl berth when a bad no-catch call late in the NFC Title game ended a potential game-winning drive in Rams territory. St. Louis went on to win, 11-6, before beating the Titans in the Super Bowl. This win in Tampa was exciting, including a late, improvised flea-flicker of sorts between Warrick Dunn and Shaun King that carried the Bucs to victory in the kind of shootout nobody thought they could win against the league's most high-powered offense.
3. South Florida 45, Louisville 14: I'll be honest, I still watch the Sportscenter clip from this one every week or so. I went down to Tampa to watch USF (I graduated the previous Spring) in their biggest game ever, and they pounded the No. 9 Cardinals. I also traveled to Charlotte for the team's first-ever bowl game on New Year's Eve, but that wasn't as memorable (14-0 loss). Shortly after this game, none other than Lee Corso actually predicited USF would go to the Sugar Bowl (note: they did not.).
4. May 1998: In his first full season with the Cardinals, McGwire blasts a home run against the Marlins (off, I think Livan Hernandez) that I thought would land in orbit. It was insane. Think Albert Pujols in Game 5 of the NLCS last year. It was estimated at like 550 feet, the longest blast in Busch Stadium history. Sadly, that was the only time I ever saw McGwire play for the Cardinals, as every other time I made it to Busch to see them over the years, he was out of the lineup.
EDIT: And I guess if we're gonna include wrestling, I saw Foley's "last" match at No Way Out 2000 in Hartford, when he lost to Triple H in my favorite Hell in a Cell match.
I, too, saw Big Mac live, although he was with the A's at the time. In my first ever game at Fenway Park, I saw him homer three times, and the A's pounded the Sox 9-1.
I went to the last WWF event at the old Boston Garden; this was back when Diesel and Sid were feuding over the WWF Title. Diesel beat Sid to retain, and I got a thermos with a "DIESEL" sleeve. I also got a fake title belt.
This will get added at the end of each post you make, below an horizontal line. This should preferably be kept to a small enough size.
This past October I saw the AJ Pierzynski dropped strike play. Then a few days later I saw Paul Konerko's grand slam and Scott Podsednik's walkoff homerun in Game 2 of the World Series.
I was there for the Austin vs. Hart match at WM 13.
I saw Michael Jordan play basketball for the Chicago Bulls. IMO, anytime that happened is something I will remember and treasure.
I saw Nolan Ryan pitch at Fenway from the 8th row of the first-base side, and the threw seven shutout innings but the Sox came back on a Nick Esasky home run and won.
I was also at the game where Ken Griffey Jr. tied the record with home runs in eight consecutive games. Earlier I was there when Griffey broke his wrist slamming into the wall catching Ruben Sierra's deep fly to right-center that was on the highlights for forever.
EDIT: More recently I was at Randy Johnson's return to Safeco, where he shut-out the M's and I think struck out ten. Also, I took IJ to her first Sonics game this year, so that's right up there. (Plus, they WON.)

I was at Staples Center for the HHH-Stephanie "wedding" on RAW (in one shot during the in-ring ceremony, you can see the "I" in my yellow "I OBJECT" sign over the preacher's right shoulder [your left]), and I went to the Smackdown taping the next night where I'm proud to say that I was a part of Steph's very first "Slut!" chant.
If I am not the biggest Royals fan on this board, I am certainly the oldest Royals fan. Denkinger got the call wrong. I still send him Christmas cards.
I was at the Gabba to see Glenn McGrath score 50 for the first, and probably only, time in a Test. It was 61 runs of pure joy for all involved, except the Kiwi team.
Summer 1994. The Washington Redskins and NY Jets play an exhibition in Columbia, SC, to gauge support for an NFL franchise. This is the first NFL game in the Carolinas and leads to the Carolina Panthers.
Sept. 14, 1998. Ric Flair returns to WCW in Greenville, SC, the heart of Horsemen Country. This ends his suspension at the hands of Bischoff and leads to his "fire me ... I'm already fired. You! Abuse of power!" We screamed our fucking heads off. We also got to see Kidman wins his first cruiserwight title, and Sting come thisclose to beating Goldberg. This was the first wrestling show at the new Bi-Lo Center, and the first wrestling cable broadcast from the city. We were supposed to get Vengeance this year (our first PPV), but it recently moved to Charlotte.
May 24, 1999. WCW Nitro broadcasts live one day after Owen Hart dies. Flair taunts a luchadore (Silver King?), and my "Whoo" sign gets a close-up and fills the entire TV screen during his entrance.

1986, attended the rosemont horizon part of Wrestlemania II
1984, saw the doubleheader when Sandberg hit three dingers and the Cubs beat the Cards twice and basically took their first step to winning the division.
I had season tickets at Wrigley from 82-87, so I saw a lot of games in there. Saw most of the greats, Ryan, Carlton, plenty others.
When I was a kid, I saw a lot of Cubs games with my Gramps - Banks, Santo and the rest. Caught a foul hit by Pepitone, so that must have been 71-72 in there.
I saw Sosa hit #64 and #65 in '98, and saw Mac hit one that year.
And I also treasure my seeing Jordan play in person - just once. But it was special.
I guess that's about it for me.

We'll be back right after order has been restored here in the Omni Center.

You, my friend, are insane.
To be fair, I was only six at the time, sitting high in the upper deck, and any time a replay of the game comes on, I close my eyes at that point and don't watch any of the replays of that play. And yes, I am a little bit insane. I have tickets right now to go to about 70 games this season.
I was at Camp Randall for a lot of National headline grabbing Badgers games (Ron Dayne breaking the college rushing record, Jim Sorgi getting choked out during Wisconsin's win over #1 Ohio State), and also I was at the Metrodome for Wisconsin's blocked punt win over Minnesota (which got screwed as the "game of the day" last year when Leinhart "beat" Notre Dame). No memorable professional sports games though.
As for wrestling...the most memorable WCW one I can really think of is the infamous (at the time) match where Scott Norton beat the ever living shit out of Ernest Miller. As for WWE, the Eddie Tribute Show.

Think the biggest were Cal Ripken Jr.'s last game at Fenway (Dan Duquette got booed mercilessly) and the 2003 Red Sox home opener. That's it for legit history.
When I was in high school, the two dominant football schools in the county were Palm Bay High and Rockledge High. Every year, the two teams opened the season against each other in a game that regularly draws like 12,000 fans. One season, both teams won state titles in their respective classes and the following year, Palm Bay opened the season ranked No. 3 (I think) in USA Today's national high school football poll. Rockledge was unranked. Rockledge was actually coming off back-to-back state titles and was on a 26-game winning streak.
The openeing kickoff gets returned 60 yards or so by Palm Bay, deep in Rockledge territory. Then, the first play from scrimmage is fumbled and Rockledge recovers, returning it 76 yards for a touchdown. That was the only score in a 7-0 game that saw some of the best defense I've ever seen in a high school game. One of the most intense events I've ever been to.
My school was the laughing stock of Brevard County for more than a decade, and Palm Bay beat us 77-0 two weeks later in their next game.
