I'm not sure why it can't send that unit... any ideas?

Not all of the work units come from the same server. I'm looking into this right now - I'd assume this was on their end if this is the first time you've seen it and you aren't experiencing any other problems.
Leroy, are you running Linux or Windows? There are a few threads on the folding forums with problems similar to yours after installing the beta of IE7.
I'm running linux using the terminal under wine. I do have a version of IE installed on this machine (under wine), although that was before I installed F@H. Wine hasn't had an update in some time, and I've turned in units since the last one.
And I don't use wine for anything other than F@H at this point, so I'm not sure why IE under wine would be a problem.
Incidentally, I pinged their server (171.64.122.136) and it was up.

I have two consoles running as services. (Win XP box). Both checked in WU's overnight. Console 1 went in no probs and started on the next WU. Console 2 jammed. Had 3 attempts to upload WU, and finally got it. It then continually failed to download a new WU - it tried about 14 times before I got to it. (Wasting all those precious CPU cycles - and ruining my plans for world domination - umm helping science).
I then stopped and re-started the console 2 service and it download the new work unit (and core incidentally) no problems.
So for Leroy if you haven't already tried - try stopping and restarting the F@H process and see if it comes good. Its stored everything locally so you shouldn't lose anything.
I use dial-up mode, but I won't be able to remember what day I was WOTD every time I see one of my posts and I can't ask the boss because *he* won't tell me. ;)
I don't recall the specifics behind the status messages.
Aha - my console 2 service was also trying to talk to 136. When I restarted it, it changed to 151.
Thanks Guru! I hope I wasn't just noise.

Well, I restarted both F@H and the computer itself this morning before I went to work and again this afternoon. The F@H server I was sending that unit to did not change.
I'll assume the situation will resolve at some point, but if not, then I'll post again. :)

I've got it up and running for The W team now. I used to take part in the Engadget team, but they're so highly ranked (with so many users) that I'd rather contribute to a smaller team.

Stanford says that their last work unit was March 8th. I googled the name and I got results for men and women of various races and ages. It appears to be a popular alias.
I figure that they were a lurker, someone who changed aliasas in the team, or someone who picked a random team # and stopped using F@H (and/or with that name).

I just checked on the console version running on my home PC, and I see the following error coming up every couple of steps.
"Error: Length of work/wuresults_04.dat (8223406) exceeds packet limit set (5241856) Error: Could not transmit unit 04 (complete April 28) to work server. Error: Length of work/wuresults_04.dat (8223406) exceeds packet limit set (5241856)"
Is this fixable, should I ignore it and forget about the unit from a couple weeks ago? Any Ideas?
Thanks.

171.64.122.136 is playing up again if you find your app not being able to get new work.

I think Merc is right. I believe there is a -oneunit flag on the client that will only run one unit, so you could call the executable with that after you reconfig it. This way it will only do one unit and not pick up a new one over 5 megs.
Thanks guys, I will try that when I get home tonight.
Edit: I ran the console with the -config tag, changed my settings to allow sending/receiving work units over 5MB. I am still getting the error. Any more ideas, or should I cut my loses?
Thanks.

It feels good to be back on the team...after being away from the F@H work for almost a month.
I had problems with the program, I admit: on two occasions, I was within a day of finishing a work unit, but either the unit was screwed up after a botched shutdown, or the earlier reason about it starting up on its own without having a screen on my computer (the question about Trojans came up for that).
Outside of that, the help from everyone here made things work out well, and in the very near future, I'll be adding a new computer to work solely as a F@H system here. It'll be 500MHZ system, but at least its something, right?
A question: does a computer need to be online throughout the entire work unit while its running? Or is it OK to have it offline for some of the time? Just curious.
