TNA taped their first 2 Thursday night episodes of iMPACT this past Monday. Below are the results that I found at PWInsider.com:

Airdate: Thursday, 04/13/06
Samoa Joe defeated Christopher Daniels to regain the X-Division championship after an Island Driver off the ropes in about 18 minutes. After the match, the lights went out and Sabu's theme music played. It will be Joe vs. Sabu at Lockdown will be for the X-Division title.

Jeremy Borash interviewed Sting backstage. Sting said he would introduce his Lockdown team later tonight.

The former Spike Dudley, Matt Hyson, debuted during the Team 3D vs. America's Most Wanted Street Fight. The Street Fight ended in a no contest with a Team Canada & AMW beat down 3D and Hyson making the save. Gail Kim and Jackie Gayda ended up fighting in the ring. A-1 was given a 3D through a table.

Backstage, Jeff Jarrett was with his Army. He said Sting should have stayed in California and shouldn't have returned. He announced Young would be facing Sting tonight.

Sting pinned Eric Young with the Scorpion Death Drop. Sting hit a plancha out of the ring onto Young and Alex Shelley. Sting locked the Scorpion Death Lock on Shelley. Jeff Jarrett tried to hit Sting with the guitar but Sting blocked it with his bat. Jarrett's Army attacked and they beat Sting down. Sting was saved by Rhino, AJ Styles & Ron Killings, brandishing bats. Sting told Jarrett that this was his team. The Lockdown main event will be Sting, Styles, Killings & Rhino vs. Jeff Jarrett, AMW & Steiner in the Six Sides of Steel with Weapons Hanging from a Roof.

Airdate: Thursday, 04/20/06
NWA champion Christian Cage came out and said his match against Abyss at Lockdown was more than personal and he wants to beat Abyss more then anyone else he ever wrestled before. He said that Abyss is scared but Cage is not afraid. Jim Mitchell appeared on the video screen, saying Cage is delusional and losing focus. He predicted Cage would lose the belt at Lockdown. Abyss hits the ring and attacks Cage, coming out of the crowd. Abyss hits the Black Hole Slam and chokes Cage out with his chain.

Ron Killings, AJ Styles & Rhino defeated The Diamonds in the Rough after killings used an Ax Kick on Elix Skipper.

Backstage, Jeremy Borash was with Larry Zbyszko, discussing the Lockdown PPV matches. Slick Johnson comes in and says that the "new guy" is going to create a clean slate with the company. He handed Zbyszko an envelope and made a comment about Zbyszko's hair.

Team Canada defeated Team USA (Jay Lethal, Alex Shelley, Sonjay Dutt & Chris Sabin) when A-1 pinned Lethal.

Jeff Jarrett & America's Most Wanted defeated Team 3D & Matt Hyson when Jarrett pinned Hyson with the Stroke. After the match, there was a huge brawl also involving Cage, Abyss, Team Canada, and Sting's Team.

Not a terrible build to the Lockdown PPV. I believe that it's a smart move to put the focus on your main matches, since they only have an hour a week to do so.

I really wish that the former Spike Dudley could come up with a ring name that coincides with his "brothers".

Sabu winning the X belt could expand the division to include hardcore matches, and that could let in a lot more wrestlers who can mix athleticism with chairs. I hope they go that route. There's no reason to put the belt back on Joe except for a cheap title switch in the new timeslot.

I don't really see the point in giving Samoa Joe's first clean loss to Sabu, a guy pushing 50 and who hasn't even appeared on TNA TV since last December. I think it will be interesting because it will be a different kind of "X division" title match, but Joe's first loss has to be one of the younger members of the roster who can really use it or do something with it. Someone like Alex Shelley, or Chris Sabin who's been miring in mid-card hell lately and is really over-due for another X division title reign.

FYI, TNA put up the first 4 minutes of Joe vs. Daniels on their website. This portion of the match will be cut out and the match will already be in progress when the show starts:

I guess my wish was answered in that the former Spike Dudley is now using the name "Brother Runt".

Also on the Sabu winning the X Division, I don't think he even has a contract with TNA. Personally I think the X Division is fine how it is, I guess I wouldn't object to a hardcore guy like Sabu being entered into the mix but like the Vile1 said he shouldn't be the first one to beat Samoa Joe.

I thought the first Thursday show was pretty good. I like how they introduced Samoa Joe during the last commercial break during the Ultimate Fighter, might raise some interest with the people watching that show, which did really good numbers last week. I also like how they went straight into the action. Joe vs. Daniels was a pretty good match too. Dudleys and AMW was pretty good too. Sting didn't look fanstastic or anything but I'm enjoying Eric Young so I liked that match fine. And I think the War Games match (or whatever they are calling it) should be good with AMW, Styles, Rhyno and Killings in it. That along with Joe/Sabu and Christian/Abyss could make for a good upper card, don't know about the under card yet though. I'm curious who Daniels will wrestle now that Liger is out.

Well Daniels/Joe was simply amazing. It's different that they started the show with the match already in progress, but they did it in order to attract the UFC viewers.

What we got was excellent, and the first X division title defense on TV in over a year, and probably what I think was Joe and Daniels best match those 2 have ever had. Joe and Daniels played their roles perfectly. He rallied, but Joe really just is an unbeatable monster like Vader used to be, and he plays the role more effectively than Bill Goldberg ever could. Joe beats Daniels by debuting his super Island Driver for the first time in TNA.

Is it just me, or is that the first time Tenay has ever said the words "ACID DROP" on the air? No Spike Dudley, but at least they got rid of the Dudley Dog crap and use the original name of the move. That said, I'm actually surprised that the WWE didn't try to copyright the name of Spike's move as the acid drop.

I don't think WWE had any desire to trademark a name with such blatant drug connotations.

To those who say people wouldn't look; they wouldn't be interested; they're too complacent, indifferent and insulated, I can only reply: There is, in one reporter's opinion, considerable evidence against that contention. But even if they are right, what have they got to lose? Because if they are right, and this instrument is good for nothing but to entertain, amuse and insulate, then the tube is flickering now and we will soon see that the whole struggle is lost. This instrument can teach, it can illuminate; yes, and it can even inspire. But it can do so only to the extent that humans are determined to use it to those ends. Otherwise it is merely wires, and lights, in a box.-Edward R. Murrow

According to www.kehoe73.freeserve.co.uk/questions26.htm, WWE are allowed to use the old WWF scratch logo again! But it only effects computer games at the moment. It's also likely that old WWF videos and DVD's will be out again too.
