Are there any fans of the show here? I didn't know how I'd like it at first, but the characters are really growing on me. Last week's episode with the wolf has been my favorite so far. This show could grow into something great.

What are your opinions?

To paraphrase The Godfather: "Polygamy ain't easy!"

I'm enjoying the show so far. I always enjoy Bill Paxton's work. When I heard "Bill Paxton" and "polygamy", my curiosity was piqued. My initial complaints mostly involved the surprising abundance of Bill Paxton's naked ass in the first couple of episodes. Also, I was expecting some sort of comedic take on polygamy, I'm not sure why exactly, so I was thrown off by how subtly disturbing it was. Yet also very interesting. The show is well-written, which is a staple of HBO shows, and the cast is terrific, especially Chloe Sevigny and Ginnifer Goodwin (who is really, really pretty in that Rachael Ray way). Although the most interesting stuff to me has been the interplay between the daughter Amanda Seyfried and Tina Majorino trying to be her friend. A lot of that is my Veronica Mars fandom coming though for both of them as alumni of that show. And what was up with Harry Dean Stanton's child bride stealing Amanda Seyfried's iPod? I like the show enough to see it though the season and see how the various storylines play out.

But Rome season 2 can't come fast enough for me. (If it ever does come back.)

I think that "Big Love" is really finding itself. The pilot was more "wait and see", but I like the characters and the writing. Nikki really earned some cudos last night, but I still think that she's the loose cannon. Last night's request is an obvious plea for attention.

I missed the end and her big announcement. Is this a new wife or a new kid?

She wants to "bring another soul" into the world. She was so jealous when she found out that Barb was stealing all the attention that I guess she figures this is a way to make her the favorite again, at least for a while.

Best part of last night's episode was Albie slapping that guy in the face. Awesome.

I'm struggling mightily to figure out what exactly Bill saw in Nikki to make her Bride #2 in the first place (other than, obviously, her being "down" with the P-thing). She's kinda proven herself to be every bit the same manipulative and diabolical user her father Roman is (I'll give her props for handling the confrontation last night, though). Although, as stated during the confrontation, maybe it all was about that loan afterall.

All in all, though, I'm liking this show far more than I expected. Many of the characters are actually quite endearing in that quirky HBO kinda way.

Bonus: I managed to get ESPN's Bill Simmons to answer a question about Big Love during his recent two-hour online chat. Basically, like me, the Sports Guy is also dumbfounded that "N for Nudity" has meant "Bill Paxton's Ass" and not related to a graphic Chloe Sevigny sex scene. :)
