CM Punk and Matt Polinsky vs the Gymini. Gymini won. Both Punk and the Gymini looked really good. There were only a few people there who recognized Punk.
Next was Finlay vs Psicosis Finlay pretty much destroyed Psycosis. But sadly, this was the worst match of the night.
Scotty 2 Hotty and Funaki teamed up against Kid Kash and Jamie Noble. Scotty and Funaki got a big pop from the crowd, but Kash and Noble won.
Colt Cabana faced Matt Hardy in a pretty good match. I'm pretty sure Matt Hardy won, but after the victory Animal came out and beat the shit of him.
The last Velocity match was Bobby Lashley vs Vito. Lashey got a really good crowd response. Lashley won, with all of the usual Lashley moves.
Smackdown started off with Joey Mercury and Johnny Nitro against Paul London and Brian Kendrick. They had a decent match. London and Kendrick ended up winning.
Next Booker T wrestled a guy that someone in the crowd identified as Brent Albright. I'm not sure if it really was him or not. Booker T was controlling the match until the Boogeyman's music came on, and distracted Booker. Brent rolled Booker up and got the pin.
Chris Beniot wrestled Simon Dean, and won pretty quickly. Then a JBL video package aired, and Teddy Long announced that later tonight Beniot would face JBL in a cage match for the United States title. I think at this point Teddy Long announced Randy Orton vs Rey Mysterio for later tonight as well. If he didn't, he came out later and did it.
There were a few backstage shots with Orton and Angle meeting, along with Teddy Long announcing that the King of the Ring would come back this year, and the first match would be Orton and Angle next week.
Also backstage William Regal met with Paul Burchill to try and get him to quit the pirate gimmick. Burchill said if Regal beats him tonight, he would wear whatever Regal wanted him to wear. But if Burchill wins, then Regal had to wear whatever he wanted.
Regal and Burchill came out and had a good match. There were two guys in the front row dressed up as pirates. Burchill ended up winning.
Next it was Randy Orton vs Rey Mysterio for the World Heavyweight title. I just heard that Orton was suspended for sixty days, but, he was there tonight, and is supposed to wrestle next week too. This match went a long time, and was great. They teased the 619 a couple times, and Orton dominated most of the match. It ended with Rey doing a 619 around the ring post, and then another standard 619.
Then it was Undertaker vs Mark Henry. They had their match, but at the end, Taker threw Henry outside, and then Davari came out with a freaking giant (Dalip Singh). I've never seen this guy before. He stood face to face with Taker, and this guy was about a head taller than Undertaker. Then this new guy laid Taker out. After this happend, they didnt' bother to finish the match. Mark Henry just walked away.
Finally they set up the cage, and JBL and Beniot had their match. JBL did the Eddie taunts again, but not as much as he did at Mania. It ended with JBL tieing Beniot to the top of the cage, and him escaping through the door.
This was the end of the show. Overall, I thought it was really good. The Orton Mysterio match was great, and whoever that new guy was that attacked the Undertaker, he was huge. It's also weird that Orton was suspended today, yet he wrestled this week, and is scheduled to wrestle next week too for the King of the Ring.

Poor Daivari. He comes in as part of the hot Hassan angle, then moves on to Kurt Angle -- but then gets saddled with Mark Henry, and now Dalip Singh, who from all accounts is awful. I guess it's a statement of faith in him that they'll give him total stiffs they really want to get over, but the man isn't a miracle worker.
Orton is hot right now, so why not give him the HHH 1996 treatment for a few weeks, then take him off the road. Maybe the Ultimate Warrior can come back and no sell the RKO.
UT and Dalip: Who is putting who over? UT imo. UT should have a strong year, then lose to someone at WM.
(edited by canis582 on 5.4.06 0753) I just remembered that im absent minded wait i mean i lost my mind, i cant find it.
It was Brent Albright. He used to wrestle professionally here in Tulsa and we heard a rumor he would be on SD this week.
Big Show: Why is he getting the Intercontinental Title shot and not me? RVD: Ahhh...maybe 'cause you're a tool. Big Show: Look. I am 7'2". I am 500 pounds. I'm a giant. RVD: Oh ok. You're a giant tool.

The King of The Ring? That has not been around in a long time...

I always liked King of the Ring. I hope it's interpromotional.
In the real world, WWE believes that no matter what our race, religious creed or ethnic background in America, we all share the common bond of being Americans. American-Arabs are a part of the fabric of America, and they should be embraced by all of us.
I can't see it being interpromotional. The next cross-brand PPV is SummerSlam, so unless they're gonna further dilute the monthlies after last December's pointless tag match this one's gonna be SmackDown-only. Early-and-obvious pick: Lashley.
To those who say people wouldn't look; they wouldn't be interested; they're too complacent, indifferent and insulated, I can only reply: There is, in one reporter's opinion, considerable evidence against that contention. But even if they are right, what have they got to lose? Because if they are right, and this instrument is good for nothing but to entertain, amuse and insulate, then the tube is flickering now and we will soon see that the whole struggle is lost. This instrument can teach, it can illuminate; yes, and it can even inspire. But it can do so only to the extent that humans are determined to use it to those ends. Otherwise it is merely wires, and lights, in a box.-Edward R. Murrow

Dalip might be awful at that whole "professional wrestling" thingy, but in a "sports entertainment" context, he should still be marketable.

Questionable.
Also, and I can't repeat this point enough, he killed Brian Ong.
And, of course, on the main page of the All Pro Wrestling Site (allprowrestling.com), they mention the fact that he graduated from their boot camp while schilling the school.
That whole tragedy is quickly becoming one of wrestling's "dirty little secrets," which is a real shame. I really hope that in the coming months people don't keep quiet about it. Isn't this case still in the courts?

Man, I kinda feel sorry for Singh after reading through some of the stuff on the Ong case. He seems like a genuinely benevolent and spiritual guy, and I doubt giving someone a fatal injury during training is something he just dismisses as a stupid accident. I mean, I sure as Hell don't wanna see him wrestle or anything, but I think the negligence here stretches faaaar beyond his part in proceedings.

Granted the guy's big, but this is the guy WWE puts on my television? Someone who, through his negligence, ended another man's life in that wrestling ring? This is someone who could now quite possibly get in the ring with some of my favorite wrestlers and injure them, too?
There's no way WWE can keep this kind of a secret from the casual fans for very long. If the news of Brock Lesnar's imminent departure from the company was such a well-kept secret that the entire WrestleMania XX crowd jeered Lesnar and sang that "Na Na Na Na Hey Hey Goodbye" song at him, how long do they think this is going to remain a secret?
And why is Brian Ong dead while the man who killed him with his negligence is on WWE television feuding with The Undertaker?

Is Singh the negligent one, or the wrestling school? Remember, he was in the school as well. It sounds like the instructors were the ones that killed Ong.
As an example ... when Brandon Lee died during filming of The Crow, who was at fault -- the actor who fired the accidentally loaded gun, or the person who accidentally loaded the gun?
From my basic understanding of the case (and someone please correct me if I'm misreading) Singh was simply the bullet that killed Ong. The school pulled the trigger and ordered the continuation of the training.
Unless his English has improved ten-fold is was pretty choppy in "The Longest Yard". They used subtitles for his dialogue.

I'd say they're both at fault-- perhaps the wrestling school more than Singh himself, but one should have the balls to say, "Dude. I think the guy's had enough." And when he vomited and passed out, why the fuck did it take 15 minutes for anyone to call 9-1-1?
