You bet your Asics it is. I had the privalige of attending a free clinic he did in MD back in '91. and saw is brother Mark whip up on a teamate of mine in '92. (it wasnt pretty)
Well, it really depends on a few things. I would say Hogan made wrestling mainstream and watchable again. However, his in ring ability has always been a two trick pony. The greatest wrestler in my mind is Ric Flair. Yes, Foley is God and has much to do with making wrestling what it is today. However, Ric has been consistantly a great worker, a more than solid draw and cuts promos than anyone ever did. He also took the played out scheme if a heel and turned it into an art form. Ever great heel we saw and will see has a bit of Flair in them. HHH as a heel was basically playing Ric Flair. Flair reinvented the bad guy spot to the point that we started to root for the bad guys.
A Fan- There is my argument, fell free to present yours.
Guess I'd have to choose the two guys who made me turn in for years between them. I can't really choose.
Dick the Bruiser. Knew how to brawl. Great Psych in the tag with Crusher. Could be a heel but was awesome as the face against Heenan and the Blackjacks. I was there week after week.
Hogan. He might not do any great moves, but he can tell a story. Leave the moves to Dan Gable. He's coaching somewhere for 40K a year, right? Hogan used to really have the look and the power. I guess most of that is gone now. He's been smart enough in this run to let the younger guys tell most of the story.
I'm sure if I had discovered NWA/WCW before Flair was a little further along that I would put him in the same catagory. Who has a chance today to be in that group for me? I like Jericho a lot - he can tell it.
I can't say "best," as that is a little too arbitrary (and I haven't had a chance to see much Japanese wrestling and I've never seen anything from Mexico), but I think a motivated, healthy Bret Hart could work a match better than anyone I've seen.

My list of best Heavyweights would go: Flair HBK Hart Benoit Steamboat
The more I think about it, the more I realize that Steamboat was the Benoit of his era. He put on 5 * matches with just about anybody, he flirted with the main event, but never managed to establish himself as a "true" main eventer.
The Best Cruisers are: Jericho (WCW era) Mysterio Kidman Tajiri Pillman
