The relationship forged when AJ Pierzynski appeared on the TNA ppv a while back has continued to expand. Recently Chris Sabin gave AJ an X division belt to present to the player of the game each night for the Sox. And now...well now Simon Diamond crossed Ozzie Guillen. The aftermath?
The full story can be found on TNA's website (tnawrestling.com)
I admit as a Sox fan I would rather they had partnered with Vince, simply due to WWE being so much bigger. Plus the cross-promotion between the White Sox opening night and WM 22 being the same evening could have been productive for everyone. That said, if we can rent out Samoa Joe for any beanbrawls we may have this year, I am fully in favor of this relationship.
Oh, and the auction for that chair...I may be saving my pennies.

It was done nearly exactly the same...a chair to the back after some trash talking...
TNA truly shows their desperation for attention by ripping off recent WWE ideas...
The notion that WWE created that idea is ridiculous. Both are just a nice little promotion for the wrestling companies by much higher-profile sports organizations.
Please reiterate a recent time when a wrestling company had a major sports figure attack one of their stars in the back with a chair...
I don't care if WWE created it or not, the problem is the fact that WWE did this a few months ago, and TNA comes out and copies the SAME EXACT SCENARIO only a few months later...
TNA truly is an alternative...WWE used basketball, TNA used baseball...man the choices...

Actually the Diamonds have been in it with the Sox LONG before the Shaq incident.
Once again, it's not a matter of whether or not TNA had been interacting with the White Sox prior to this event...the problem is that they continued their storyline by doing something the same (and nearly exact) way WWE did only a few months earlier...

And everything else TNA does it so like the WWE? DOT DOT DOT.
At least with Torborg (sp?) involved there is somewhat of a wrestling tie in.
TNA has tried this before. Does anyone remember the Nascar stuff they did when they first launched? How about the country singer? If anything, this is TNA rehashing its own "Cross-over" strategy.
Hell, it might work. "Goldberg" was a pretty cool Monster Truck, even after the WCW folded
