I know there was a lot of talk of holding another ECW "One Night Stand," but Paul Heyman confirmed it tonight, according to wwe.com.

http://www.wwe.com/inside/news/tazzannouncement

It will be held in the Hammerstein Ballroom (isn't that where it was this year?) on June 12th.

Boy, if only Heyman had a place he could have these guys work on their matches before that date. Y'know, some place with a ready-made audience and a camera crew.

Indeed, 2005's One Night Stand was at the same venue.

I'm guessing they want the same type of hot crowd they had last year and don't want people sitting on there hands because they never saw ECW. I guess I'm not going to complain about the venue because they make the show almost as enjoyable as the extreme matches of the ECW style.

One night stand part two ... well that's just fucked up. The first one was cute, the second one doesn't seem so cute.

I mean who is really available to work this? Most of the big names from ECW are either under contract elsewhere, retired and out of shape, dead, in jail or on bad terms with WWE. Watching Roadkill against Mikey Whipwreck as the main event doesn't exactly strike me as a quality ECW event.

well you still have a lot of wrestlers who can work this PPV. I mean the only ones you really lose are the Dudley's and Rhyno who have a signed contract with TNA(I assume) and Eddy Guerrero. There is no one else that wasn't at the first One Night Stand that couldn't be at the second one. Plus at this one RVD will be healthy to wrestle.

Thats my point... the 1st one was full of ECW midcarders so im assuming this one will be even worse.

I say they main event this year's with either a Mick Foley vs. Terry Funk match, or some sort of Rey Mysterio-Chris Benoit "Eddie Guerrero Tribute Match" (since you know that's probably coming anyways, why not at least make it an ECW thing?).

You can count the following guys out:
Corino (refuses to do any ECW shows)
New Jack (burned a lot of bridges during negotiations for the last show)
Anyone working for TNA (Jerry Lynn, Raven, Rhino, Dudleys, Douglas, etc)

They can still have a good show - better (on paper) than a lot of the actual ECW PPVs.

Should be interesting to see if TNA cares at all to snatch up a few of these guys. I doubt they will. They'd have to grab a lot of them for it to have any impact. If it wasn't for shows like this which sell DVDs, Vito, Nunzio, Super Crazy, Psicosis, and Kid Kash would not have WWE contracts. Just my opinion.

Lynn still works for TNA.

Also, I thought I read somewhere, could be wrong, that WWE was going to make people who signed on for the PPV sign a exclusive contract so they won't have another PPV-war thing that they had last year.

Rumor has it you can count the Blue Meanie out for this year´s show, after the JBL incident from last year... even though he DID get a several week run in WWE out of it.

Some other potential ones from that list oldschoolhero mentioned: Scorpio (he was GREAT at Hardcore Homecoming), Chris Jericho (if he's back in WWE by then) and Steve Austin (kind of doubtful, but...). Not to mention Lita, Francine, Jazz, Tammy Sytch, etc.

All I ask is please please PLEASE...don't make a "WWE vs. ECW" war again.

I'm curious to know if TNA will allow Team 3D, PJ Polaco, and other former ECWers to the show. Could they put a stip in a contract saying that "yes, you can use these wrestlers...but in return, we get use of their ORIGINAL names?" Could that go for every former ECW superstar who can't use their former names due to the WWE's stupid copywrite?

The WWE could trade copyrights for performers, but they won't. Giving performers their highly recognizable and marketable names back is basically giving their "competition" a loaded weapon to use against them. The WWE doesn't want TNA (or anyone else, for that matter) to be able to make any money, especially off of something the WWE invested effort into making valuable. Furthermore, the WWE would have to be stupid to make the trade in the first place, seeing as how they can make plenty of money off of a ppv without those guys.

I hope Tracy Smothers and Tommy Rich are free to do the show because the FBI just isn't the same without them.

Wasn't there a rumor about Dean Malenko and Benoit wanting to do a Eddie tribute match this year for the show?

I've heard something along the lines of Malenko coming out retirement for an Eddie Tribute Match this year, but I'm not sure if it was Benoit or Mysterio, it was one of the two though.

If Lance is going to be on One Night Stand this year I'd probably see the show just to see him wrestle again, and I imagine he would be a likely choice unless he ends up in TNA between then and now,

One Night Stand.. oops, sorry, we lied last time.. this is the One Night Stand, I swear!

I just hope that they don't over extend the ECW pay-per-views and make them less of a special event. Once is fine, even twice is a nice little treat, but don't just throw up an ECW event just for the hell of it when you're not going to push them any other time.

Did Team 3D leave the WWE on good terms? I know there was the flack about the name issue, but was it amiable besides that? Not that I can see TNA letting them go since they're pretty much the biggest superstars on the roster, right now.

Someone said that Umaga was on the last episode of Hogan knows best. And I am pretty sure this week's episode is about Vince asking Hogan to sign a thirty year deal to secure his rights and come back to work matches for the next few years...
