Correct me if I'm wrong, but Kurgin was never in the same room as Sayid and Tariq. The first time it was the sargent in the room. the second time he was in there alone. the only thing that I found significant was what Kurgin said "you now know how to get the information you will need" or something like that.
Well, after last week's "or when are we?" in-joke from Hurley, we now for sure that Lost is actually set in the fall of 2004, given the age of little Kate in her dad's picture and Sayid's backstory.
This guy is totally an Other. It's funny, I was watching the show with a friend of mine who is only a casual watcher, and she immediately said that Gale was lying because he had no beard after four months on the island and his clothes were in good shape. Unfortunately, I pointed out that the Lost writers couldn't go down that road with Sayid's interrogation because none of the Lostaways are exactly going native after their 50+ days.
"Oh, gosh, you know, I'm not much on speeches, but it's so gratifying to leave you wallowing in the mess you've made. You're screwed, thank you, bye."
My roomate and i might be the only ones that saw this, but isnt the military dude who gave sayid the cash the leader of the others. The one who had the hood on Kate last episode? i swear theyre the same guy.

No. The 'military dude' is played by the aforementioned 'CLANCY M'FN BROWN ~!', whereas Mr. Friendly/Zeke/Captain Gorton is played by M.C. Gainey. Though I did notice a resemblence as well. It was probably the circles under the eyes and the beard.
I went to see it yesterday; and I didn't really MIND it. Admittedly, it took a few minutes after leaving the theatre for my eyes to adjust to the light. I liked the new BATMAN.
