All of the action for the next 2-weeks of TNA!

Chris Sabin & Sonjay Dutt b David Young & Elix Skipper when Sabin pinned Young

A-1 & Petey Williams & Eric Young b Shark Boy & Lance Hoyt & Ron Killings when Williams pinned Shark after the Canadian Destroyer

James Gang b Buck Quartermain & Kenny King when Kip pinned King after a cobra clutch slam
Homicide & Konnan challenged them to a match at the 2/12 Against All Odds show

Shannon Moore b A.J. Styles in a street fight. Christopher Daniels was at ringside and when Styles was caught in a half crab, he threw in the towel. The ref refused to recognize it, but as Styles and Daniels argued, Moore used an O'Connor roll for the pin. Women and kids cheered Styles but the guys were all over him, chanting "You screwed Daniels," so the storyline they tried to portray on the PPV didn't get over. They chanted "You got punked" at Styles after the match

They teased there were problems with Sting, but Larry Zbyszko denied that to be the case. Zbyszko told Team 3-D that they could have a match on PPV with either AMW or Team Canada, and would have to choose.

Christian did a promo. Jarrett came out with a contract and wanted to know who his opponent would be. Somehow it came out that Sting would be live "next week" (later tonight). Jarrett asked Christian if his buddy Jericho was going to be getting the shot. Well, if Christian is the one getting it, they sure managed to make that a letdown. Monty Brown, Rhino and Abyss all ended up in the ring with Rhino and Abyss and Christian and Jarrett fighting. Brown picked up the contract. Funny thing was, a fan threw a pen into the ring for him to sign it, but he had to no sell the pen.

Open of the second show saw Team 3-D saying they couldn't choose who they wanted, so it'll be up to an internet vote. I guess that'll be fine unless they decide to actually abide by the voting and then put Matt Hardy in the listings.

Aries, Strong and Shelley were complaining to Jerry Lynn about not getting good matches. Matt Bentley then said if anyone should get better matches, it should be him. He told the other three to watch him next.

Bentley came out. Joe came out. Joe choked him out

Jarrett b Jay Lethal. Jackie Gayda came out with a tape recorder and played a tape to Gail Kim. She wasn't happy hearing it. Thankfully it's not WWE so this wasn't a tape backstage from Montreal. Kim and Gayda left. Jarrett won with the stroke.

Christian came out and announced he was getting the title match. Crowd loved that.

Rhino NC Abyss. Rhino gored Abyss through a wall or something like that

Sting came out for his interview. He said five years ago when he wrestled Ric Flair on the last Nitro, they never gave him a chance to say goodbye. He said he came back for the show to give himself that chance. He said he was so happy with how the much came out on Sunday that he doesn't want to taint the memory by wrestling any longer. He said good bye and left. All the babyfaces tried to tell him he still had it and should stay but he didn't listen.

---

So they cut promos about how they would give up their 18 tag titles for one reign for the NWA titles, get screwed out of them, given the choice of getting them back or wrestling a mid-card team... and they ask the fans to vote?

So it's not just 'over-pushed poor working babyfaces' guys will crap over.... The problem is, if they turn Styles heel, the crowd will probably start cheering him again....

If they don't deliver Jericho, they are going to look like fools with all these references...

Watching "The Ringer" is not unlike watching porn; after about five minutes one is both supremely bored and wondering whether to be ashamed or not.

They almost have to pull the trigger on Christian getting the title as all the other recent WWE guys (D'Lo, Jeff Hardy, and Rhyno come to mind immediately) made the initial challenge and lost to Jarrett. If Christian loses, I don't see how any subsequent WWE convert would have credibility as a title contender against Jeff.

But if they DO give Christian the title, a heel AJ Styles might give him the chance to show the chops some claim he was told to hide while in WWE.

The Jericho name-dropping isn't anything new...they've been doing that since the moment rumors popped up that he was letting his WWE contract expire (Scott D'Amore even went so far to heavily hint in a radio interview that Jericho was going to show up at a PPV). So...yeah, they kind of already look like fools, but now that they're doing it on TV, they're going to look like even bigger ones.

Jericho has made it clear time and time again that he has absolutely zero intention of going to TNA, and to even keep teasing it is unfair to the fans. Maybe TNA thinks that if they say his name enough on TV, and fans start talking, he'll change his mind? *shrug*

I can't blame the fans for booing AJ Styles during that segment. I was visiting my brother this past weekend and watched the PPV (which was a pretty good show), and we both had the same exact reaction when Styles threw in the towel: "wait, what gives AJ Styles the authority to be able to throw in the towel for Daniels?" It was awesome when the (then) WWF did it with Owen throwing in the towel for Bret to give Backlund the title years ago at Survivor Series, but with Bret's family at ringside, the booking of it made a little more sense.

That being said, I still think it has the potential to be an intriguing angle, and the execution of the towel being thrown in (with Joe kneeing Daniels in the head and only stopping to look at Styles) was great.

I won't complain too much about the whole Team 3D thing, since I think it's a positive that they keep the tag titles on a team that they helped build rather than throwing the titles on Team 3D like they did with Rhyno, which unfortunately gives the impression that they'll throw titles on anybody the WWE releases.

I'm psyched for the Strong/Aries/Shelley stable. I just wish they'd move it away from them trying to impress Jerry Lynn and more them just being cock bastards, especially since Shelley plays that role so well both in the ring and on the mic.

I still don't care much about Sting (though he didn't look too bad on the PPV), so I can't get too excited about anything to do with him, but I'm happy to see that they're actually going to do an angle with him rather than immediately throwing him into a title match with Jarrett.

All in all, looks like a decent couple shows. Now if only they can expand the characters for guys in Team Canada beyond "hey we're in Team Canada"...

Caveat: I did not see the PPV.

My first reaction was that it was Styles turning on Daniels but then you have to remember Daniels' concussion and that perhaps Styles was saving Daniels' career or even life. They REALLY need to do an interview on Impact with Styles and/or Daniels where this is explained very clearly for fans. If this is the direction they want to go with this angle.

The way it was presented on the PPV, it was clear that Styles was throwing in the towel to save Daniels' career.

For clarity's sake: Joe more or less had the match won, as Daniels was already KO'ed. Instead of going for the cover, he got on the ground and started kneeing him in the head, just to rub it in. At which point Styles came down to the ring, with the towel, and was yelling for Joe to stop. Joe instead continued kneeing him, after each knee looking at Styles. Styles then threw in the towel.

As for the interviews, I'm sure those'll be done in post-production.
