I would normally agree, except Mickie kind of looks like my sister. At least her face does. I'd feel dirty, and not in a good way.

Well the F-U is sold as complete and utter death, and it might be because he clouds the mind of his opponents. So he must be some kind of hip-hop white boy ninja, or Jedi. Those are the two logical choices at this point for the guy.

I never bought the F-U as a finisher. It just doesnt look painful. I mean, I bet it would be really painful if he did it to ME, but it's really not anymore worse than a regular bodyslam or a suplex. Come to think of it the F5 is kind of the same thing, except that looks like it might do more damage.

If only this meant Giant Singh is being brought in as Trap Jaw, then we'd have something.

Brutally bad edition of Raw. Thank goodness at least the Sugar Bowl is entertaining.

Somebody please buy Paul Wight a silver & purple striped shirt before Sunday!

And I actually watched Thea back in the day! I have a recollection of the theme song but nothing else.

The fans are shitting on Masters and Carlito the more they get shoved down their throat. Of course, Cena is a much worse example of that and you heard how he was treated.

They need to remember that when Slaughter was an Iraqi sympathizer half the country wasn't against the war. The 24-35 male demo isn't going to like Cena over Angle if Kurt came out in a Nazi uniform. And I think it's pretty clear that people are tired of the homo penis joke rap off.

I hope somebody was paying attention to that crowd tonight.

Contrast, for a moment, Dave Batista & John Cena. Dave Batista's been consistently booked since he debuted in the WWE as a no-nonsense asskicker. Heck, DEACON BATISTA was even booked like that, albeit much weaker. The reason fans still seem to buy Batista as a top guy is that he's always been treated with a modicum of respect. Meanwhile Cena went from "blue-chipper" to "headstrong rookie" to "angry rapping guy" to "man of the people".

I don't think the problem is that Cena has gone through too many changes to be taken seriously. It's just the fact that they changed him from an edgy, rapping Austin-like character into a big phony. His wrestling looks phony, his mannerisms seems phony, his speech seems phony, and his pandering to the crowd seems phony and cheesy.

And Batista has changed as he's moved up the card, albeit subtly. The fued with Triple H never would have worked as well as it did if Batista was just the big, dumb asskicking Animal. It made him a main eventer because he broke out of the stupid musclehead character when they booked him to be one step ahead of Triple H the entire time.

Add me to the list of liking the Edge spot - I started out groaning, but he won me over on that one by the end. I think he's done as good as you can ask for building this feud, given that Flair apparently is under a mouthpiece-imposed gag order.

Is there any chance other than the Rumble for Edge to cash in the MOTB shot now? I can't see him main eventing Mania, and it would seem a huge copout to use it on a Raw after all this waiting. (Unless he actually uses it when the Champ is beat down from another match, and wins the Heavyweight Championship.) Otherwise, even in kayfabe terms, to not even get a PPV payday out of it makes him look like a chump, right?

As for Cena's heat, I think he's still getting as good a face reaction as anyone, it's just that he's also getting that noticeable backlash. Men cheer against him, Women and Children for Cena. And it's just not Angle - remember that Jericho was also getting noticeable face pops in at least the last few matches of his 'retirement' feud. Now that may have been more wishful "please don't go" rooting at the time, but the mixed reaction dynamic didn't start with this feud. Still, cheer me, boo me - just don't sit on your hands - I don't think it's such a bad thing at all. What I would find interesting at this point, is to see how the crowd would line up for a Cena/H feud. I'm not sure heel Trips would get as much support as either Angle or Jericho. And wouldn't that be amusing to discover?

I'm shocked it took this long for people to turn on Cena's gimmick.

The Saturday Night Main Event could be the place to do it. Though it wouldn't be a PPV, it would have the uniqueness quality in it being the first one in approximately 15 years to air on NBC. Build it as cable isn't good enough for Edge, he needs to become champion on (real, not UPN) network television.

In regards to the dismay people are expressing in Cena: I hate rap, thus I never cared for the rapping gimmick and I thought Cena had a pedestrian offense. However, most people seemed to think that by moving him from SD to RAW he would become edgier, and, when that did not occur, it provided justification for the backlash against him.

Scary thing about last night as I watched Raw I kept seeing things that the E really need to try...

Masters he might be accept as an arrogant heel but he got cheered after his victory so that made him the defacto face last night meaning Shelton needs to be a heel badly.

Same thing happened in the main event. Cena might not be as over as the E wants him but a flop between the two might do wonders again too.

The three heel women need a damn stable name. Glam Girls or something because they cordinate!

Last thing is if they hadn't of pulled Eugene from TV they could've put him with Maria. Dumb and Dumber gimmick or a love dovey angle. They could try it on the house shows.

Anyways...yep there wasn't anything on Raw yesterday. Liked the end setting up the Chamber match. About it.

If you can't beat'em whack'em with a chair!

Go ahead...take a Chance!

I stick with he much cloud the minds of men. For he is... THE SHADOW! I think my suspension of disbelief with Cena starts, and really ends with the Five Knuckle Shuffle. Credibility as a champion, yeah right. But his move is booked as death, but it doesn't look like death, and sometimes the look is more important than the truth.

Overall his character is cheesy, and kind of, leaning to really, simplistic. Though I think they need to evaluate the finisher situation amongst a lot of their superstars and the level of character development. But then I suppose I shouldn't expect all that much from a wrestling thing, I mean at the WWE's height there was PLENTY of missteps.

No need to apologize. They aren't identical though. But I can't look at Mickie without seeing my sister. It's kinda creepy. Still I like the angle, and the "boobs" comment made me crack up.

Joe/Angle was weird for the reason that JST mentioned -- all this faux-MMA stuff and then the end was a wrestling finisher/pin. But it was also just really weird for the faux-MMA stuff itself; to me it just didn't make for a compelling wrestling match.
