Originally posted by MeltzerWe don't have much in the way of details, but Booker T suffered an injury to his right knee while wrestling Matt Hardy tonight in White Plains, NY. From preliminary reports from talent on the scene, the injury appeared to be serious.
They went right to the finish, and just had Hardy cover him to get out of a match that Booker was likely supposed to win. A slew of officials were surrounding him after the match ended. He was helped out of the ring and had a hard time getting to the back.
If this is accurate, -another- of Smackdown's more prominent heels goes down -- probably taking the best-of-7 series and the US title with him. SD can't catch a break these days, can it? At this rate, their main event at Wrestlemania is going to be Funaki v. Scotty 2 Hotty.

Sucks for Booker. Things are looking really scary for Smackdown. They're gonna have to ship more guys over, truthfully. The midcard is just decimated and everyone they try to push goes down to injury. We're on JBL blown knee before I call for the brand extension to temporarily be suspended. (And I could not be more opposed to the extension ending on general principal.)
Looks like the fears were overblown, as WWE.com is saying it's just a strained groin, nothing with the knee. The quote from the trainer is that the timetable is something to the effect of 4-6 weeks, but likely less because of Booker's condition.
Doesn't matter whether we see the blowoff for the best-of-seven at Royal Rumble or No Way Out... as long as I get my Benoit/Rey US title match at Wrestlemania, I'll be happy. :D
smark/net attack Advisory System Status is: Elevated (Holds; July 5, 2005) It's good to see that the WWE isn't backing away from Batista or Cena. There's still some questions lingering over a few of the draft moves they either made or didn't make (Jericho being a prime example), but the stage is set for a solid run to Summerslam that may send the indicator down. The longer Triple H stays away is also a plus...

The reports that I've read at various news sites state that they're taking a well-deserved vacation and should return sometime around the ECW PPV in June.
