The Tim White skit was the most unintentionally hilarious thing I've seen on WWE TV since the Snitsky/Heidenreich lovefest at the Royal Rumble last year.

As for the actual PPV....well, Benoit and Booker had a good match. The cruiserweight match and the MNM/Mexicools match were pretty good. WWE booking amazes me sometimes; why job Batista and Rey on a Smackdown PPV? Cleanly, even? It makes no sense whatsoever.

Well, moving away from what could become a back-and-forth thread...

TIME WHITE COMMITTED SUICIDE AT HIS BAR.

For those of you who didn't see it, yes, it read as ridiculous as it came off on TV. Granted, they did it off-camera, but it was still ridiculously awful. I didn't find it hilarious so much as completely awful. It killed all momentum that show had up until that point, which was actually pretty decent. I think the crowd felt it too, because they seemed to boo the crap out of it and maybe it's because I saw this at a bar, but it came off as if they really couldn't get into any match after that.

There's times when I'm critical of the booking, but something like this makes me really wonder why the Hell people can not only write stuff like that, but get it passed through enough filters for it to air on a program that people pay money to watch. The shame of it all is that there were some good to excellent performances put in tonight, but they'll be overshadowed by Josh Matthews witnessing a former referee put a rifle to himself and pull the trigger. It also didn't help that it was trying to put over the awful level of violence in a "Hell in a Cell" match, and that main event really didn't live up to the expectation of being so violent that it would cause a man to commit suicide upon remembering it.

This is going to make me sound too smarkish for my own good, but...Jesus Christ, WWE Creative.

Benoit and Booker had the kind of match I've been hoping for ever since they started this series. Kid Kash and Juvi had a good match, despite the crowd shitting all over it (and thanks a lot, Providence -- you probably just killed whatever teensy chance Kash might have had of getting a push). MNM vs. Crazy/Psicosis was good too. Orton/Taker was okay even though I can't fathom why, once again, another challenger has to be content with just getting the Wrestled Undertaker and Lived to Tell About It rub instead of the Beat Undertaker rub.

That's more than enough to outweigh the Boogeyman and Tim White eating his shotgun for me. Of course, the fact that all I paid to see the show was the cost of a cheesesteak, fries, and a few beers probably helped ...

I don't think its too much to ask, if you pay for a PPV for 35 dollars, it actually be 3 hours and worth 35 dollars and have more than an hour of in-ring action and 2 hours of promos, interviews, and entrances.

Since the PPVs have been around 2 hours and 40 minutes since the beginning of time, you'd probably be foolish to expect a three hour PPV.

Match times, according to the Torch.
1) 06:20
2) 08:50
3) 20:11
4) 03:30
5) 09:00
6) 08:33
7) 30:29

for a grand total of 1:26:53 - yes, folks, this means theVile would've gone home thrilled with a WWE PPV. (Maybe!)

If you all would take a moment to gander at the subject title, you may notice it says "Armageddon 2005....WRESTLECRAPTACULAR" and not "theVile's non-specific/erronous comments about WWE and their PPVs, and your comments on his comments". Please post accordingly, or your words will not be long for this world.

I really hate jumping to conclusions when it comes to booking, but how long has it been since Matt Hardy told us all to wait six months and then comment on how he's being handled?

Is it true WWE.com put up some lame story that Time White just shot the jukebox in the bar?

I'm glad I didn't order this ppv.

It sounds like as I predicted that Kash/Juvi would have a good match and the crowd would care less about it.

The WWE gives us no reason to care about these matches.

But I would love to have been at that writers meeting just to see how this one got pitched.

"So yeah lets have it look like he killed himself".

It's like I always said. The buck stops with Vince. He has to ok everything we see and it says alot about him when he has no problem with something like this.

Now if, when it was time for HitC, The Undertaker had brought White out as the reanimated dead ref for his match -- now THERE'S creative booking for you! How could Orton possibly win with the dead on The 'Taker's side in the match?!

Maybe I need a break from watching WWE.

Y'know, I wouldn't be surprised at all if it turned out that they meant for him to shoot out the jukebox as the "funny ending" to the skit, then didn't film any coverage of the event, and never thought about it looking like it was White killing himself off-camera. And THEN have to explain everything on-line after the fact.

That's the type of professional lapse in writing and production I've recently come to expect from WWE. More so than another lame "shock" angle.

What kills about the Tim White angle is that having him look downtrodden and feeling blue after his career was ended by the Hell In A Cell was actually a fairly decent creative idea. Had they stuck to a short interview with him saying "everything said about the match is true-it can end careers, it ended mine, and now I can't do what I love" blah blah blah announcers feel for him etc. then it would have been somewhat effective. But they just pushed it into the depths of absurdity. It's a shame too, because as quality goes this was one of the best single-brand efforts in a long old while.

Edited to add: Fuck the crowd for shitting all over the Juvi/Kash match. Way to doom the cruiserweights to another six months of purgatory, asswads.

I often check out the jobs section on WWE.com where they will advertise writers positions on a regular basis.

Of course we'd need the necessary qualifications according to the spec, but the Tim White angle showed the usual plumbed depths of bad writing.

Heard clearly during the HIAC match from what sounded like a young lad. 'Undertaker you suck'.

According to SEScoops.com, Vito is getting punished for his locker room issues.

As for the Tim White thing, I can understand worked shoot things, but what happened at the end of the segment shows how clueless Steffo is when it comes to writing angles.

Jamie Noble d. Funaki on Heat (3:29). This was actually a HELL of a little match. It only went 3 1/2 minutes, but it was very good while it lasted. Cole seemed to be pushing Noble as the next contender to the Cruiserweight Title. Noble won with a dragon sleeper.

John Bradshaw Layfield d. Matt Hardy (6:45). Interesting choice for an opener. Good lord, this was quite the burial. JBL attacked Matt at the onset and just get pounding him with punches and kicks. Matt Hardy got one moonsault in, and the rest was JBL beating on him. Layfield won with the clothesline from hell.

Psicosis & Crazy promised to cancel their match with MNM if Melina would boink them. She did not.

Clips of Undertaker throwing Mankind off the cell were shown.

MNM d. Psicosis & Super Crazy (8:56). I just want to say that The Mexicools have one great theme song. This was a REALLY good match. The crowd was really in to this due to the work of these four men. Crazy did the old ECW spot where he goes for a dive, the ref blocks him, and then he flips over the ref onto the guys outside. MNM won with a snap-shot. Great match, and I wouldn't have minded these guys getting 5 extra minutes.

Booker T & Sharmell said he would sweep the series with Benoit tonight. Sharmell carried a broom, just in case the people at home are idiots.

Chris Benoit d. Booker T to make the series 3-1 (20:10). Great match. There were plenty of nearfalls towards the end. Benoit tried to get Booker in the crossface, and the ref got knocked out during it. Benoit then put Booker in the sharpshooter and Sharmell hit Benoit with the broom. Unfortunatley, she only hit him with the bristles so that did nothing. Benoit went after her, and Booker hit him from behind and went for the book-end. Benoit refersed it into a DDT and then got the crossface for the win.

Teddy Long and Palmer Cannon came out. Palmer Cannon is still employed? Santa Vito & Nunzio the Elf are out. I SMELL THE BOOGEYMAN~! YES~! YES~! YES~!~!~! IT'S THE MOTHERFUCKIN' BOOGEYMAN~!~!~!~!~! "I'm makin' a list. Checkin' it twice. Ninzo (he said Ninzo) and Vito haven't been very nice. The Boogeyman is comin'..... TO GETCHA'!" WHOO~! Boogeyman then beat up the FBI. He cast a spell on Santa's bag and a bunch of worms were in there. He threw the worms all over the arena and then shoved them in Vito's mouth. I LOVE THE BOOGEYMAN~! I LOVE SMACKDOWN~!

Orton said the fate of Undertaker is in his hands. Alrighty then.

Bobby Lashley d. William Regal & Paul Burchill (about 3:35). Everyone buy the replay of this show NOW as, coming to the ring, Regal had the GREATEST LOOK ON HIS FACE EVER~! Words can not explain it. Was exactly what you'd expect. Regal & Burchill got some offense in (more than Matt Hardy did in his match), but it was basically a squash. Lashley pinned Burchill for the win.

Josh Matthews interviewed Tim White at the Friendly Tap. White (sporting a Triple H beard) said nothing and just kept drinking. Matthews asked about the Triple H/Chris Jericho HIAC match that White got injured in. White said HIAC ruined his life. He brought up his wife leaving him and a bunch of his illnesses. What a beautiful exploitation of this man's life. He then pulled out a gun and shot himself. Repeat: He pulled out a gun and shot himself. Repeat: He pulled out a gun and shot himself. FUCK! THIS! COMPANY!

Kid Kash d. Juventud to win the Cruiserweight Title (about 10:15). Crowd was dead and wanted nothing to do with this match. The match was fine, but if it were in any other promotion where they didn't have so many restrictions then it would have been 100 times better. Crowd chanted 'boring' and 'end this match.' Kash granted their wish with a brainbuster.

Big Show & Kane d. Batista & Rey Mysterio (8:38 ) . Mysterio is wearing white lipstick. Please do not ask why. Batista & Rey are probably the two most notable body changes since the drug-test announcement. Their both still huge, but not nearly as cut. This is a good thing. Honestly, I did not pay attention to the first 5 minutes of this match. The last couple of minutes were pretty good, though. Batista and Big Show were brawling outside. Rey went for the West Coast Pop on Kane, but he was caught, powerbombed, and pinned. Fuck, does that mean this feud continues?

Undertaker d. Randy Orton in Hell in a Cell (30:30). The match was okay, but sort of dissapointing. They worked a slow pace, but everything they did was good. Undertaker won by fighting off Bob Orton and then pinning Randy clean. What a great way to kill off all of Orton's momentum.

Total one match show. Booker/Benoit was great. MNM/Psicosis/Crazy was good, the HIAC was okay, and Kash/Juventud was good if you can block out the crowd. Overall, though, I left the show thinking "wow, this sucked!" Really, the whole Tim White shit just killed this show and it never looked back.

...But Undertaker is nigh-invulnerable. There's NO REASON to try to get us to feel sorry about everything to sell the match because the only guy who CAN get hurt is Orton, the heel.
