Hmmmmmmmm mediocre year. I wonder if they will be able to hold on and sneak in. The team has power but hasn't been able to pull it together all year. I guess we'll see soon.
If we get there... the blues have the players who can turn it up and burn up the ice.

they never got the goaltender that they really need to take them far in the playoffs. IMO they can't beat any of the 3 division leaders in a series but do match up well with the rest of the teams...i still can't believe the blackhawks have kept it up the whole season.
60 watts? what do you think this is, a tanning salon?
The Blues are the Flyers of the Western Conference - solid everywhere but in the nets - that will cost them against the Wings or the Avs..........and Doug Weight has been a disappointment this year even without the injury a few weeks back

I don't know, Boucher and Chechmanek are having pretty good years this season. And if the Blues are really the Western Conference version of the Flyers, why are they fighting for A playoff spot-much less a certain seeding?
...Some fear the Pink... ...But many fear....THE MOUNTIE! (He's handsome, he's brave, and he's strong, you know)
The blues have won two big games and hopefully they can win the next one too. If so that will definitely put them on a better standing at least for team moral.

Boucher has been a huge disappointment this season. He won the starting job in training camp but got injured and has not been the same player since. Everytime I see him play he reminds me of Hextall which is not a good thing.
Flyers will probably lose in the first round.
You're in a desert, walking along in the sand when all of a sudden you look down and see a tortoise. It's crawling towards you. You reach down and flip the tortoise over on its back. The tortoise lays on its back, its belly baking in the hot sun, beating its legs trying to turn itself over. But it can't. Not without your help. But you're not helping.
If things stay as they are, the Flyers will face the Devils in the first round, and I wouldn't bet on the Flyers in that matchup.
Conversely, if the Islanders maintain 6th place, I can see them getting past 3rd place Carolina. Amazing year for the Islanders, who finished dead last in the league last year!
I dont know... should be a great series. I believe the blues have won the last 8 out of 10 (i need to check that) and the last two games to end the year against detroit. Good time of the year to be playing great hockey.

Yeah...St.Louis has quietly played some great hockey over the last couple of weeks of the season. This will be a tight series, but I think the Hawks have the edge in goaltending.
Maybe Weight and McInnis can play 60 minutes a game on defence, though...
LOL... i have to agree to that.... 60 mins... LOL... yeah... our goaltending is a little weaker... but now is the time for the young guys to step up to.

That was a great game between The Blues and the Blackhawks, even if it was a little frustrating. St Louis totally outplayed them, but Theabou(sp?) played a great game and the Blues could only punch one shot into the net.
Brent Johnson is the man, but I think the Blues will need some help. They have struggled with Colorado and Detroit (who they probably end up playing.) However if the Kings can pull off a Game 7 miracle, St Louis would play San Jose, a team that the Blues have a better matchup with. So for right now, until the 2nd round of the playoffs all I can say is "Let's go Kings!!"
