Have you seen Raw lately? Plenty of people channel surf during the Cena/McMahon lovefest that is the last half hour of Raw.

The difference between Raw being 2 hours and TNA doing 90 minutes si that it would give more undercard guys actual.. y'know... wrestling matches to work *GASP*

We'd get a good main event to end the show and a solid mid-card main event in the middle. Compare this with Raw which has had me scrambling for the remote or episodes of Gatchaman to put in the DVD player for the last month.

Listen, I WANT to like TNA and they keep coming so close, and I mean SO CLOSE but almost every week I feel like it's squash match city. When was the last time TNA hada huge "I can't believe they won" moment? I think it was when the Naturals first won the tag straps.

To me TNA = So much potential to be good as opposed to WWE/Raw/Smackdown = So much much bad pertending ot be good

Yeah, I guess the hot rumor for the day going around on the sheets is that Sting has signed a 1 year deal and will become the "centerpiece" of the company.

While I'm not big on the idea, I dare say the signing of Sting will probably attract more casual fans than anyone else out there on the free agent market. I mean, I still see people wearing Sting t-shirts.

Last minute update.. I don't know if this warrants getting excited about but they added Kanyon as the man "Living Legend" Larry Z brought in to fight Raven.

I would guess the Sting announcement to be the actual surprise though. He is NOT scheduled to appear though.

I don't think I've seen it anywhere, so I'd like to start the rumor that it's Tajiri's Japanese faction.

Seriously, it better not be Sting. I saw him wrestle live a year ago. He blows up quicker than Mark Henry now.

Sting would be a really, really bad move on their part right now. They could run with Christian as their top face for the next year at least and really make something out of it. Bring Sting in and you've got a guy whose name value demands a constant top-card presence, but a man who can't back that up in the ring.

You haven't seen it posted anywhere because its a blantant foolish thought and lie. Your a fountain of misinformation. A Japanese faction who wants to see that? Keintai anyone?

Tajiri is under contract with the WWE, tomorrow night however is his last appearance with the WWE on RAW. The WWE gave him his release after signing a contract a few months ago. He will be returning to Japan to live with his wife where he plans on writing a book. I also assume he will take small bookings in Japan.

Care to look at the WWE.com website if you don't believe me

So then it was Sting.

Without getting into the fact that Christian's debut was (or at least should be) much bigger for TNA or that they only make themselves look foolish and out of touch by hyping things like this in a Schiavonesque "greatest night in the history of our sport" kind of way, I don't see what TNA thinks this will do to help them draw money.

Sting is not a legend, or at least not one like Hogan or Flair who could draw a mass of people just by his presence. At best, Sting will bring in a few people looking for nostalgia and then when that wears off in a month, TNA has gained nothing from it.

It's funny that WWE has the problem of having two champs who aren't on fire but still keep the belts becuase they have no better options while TNA has a glut of guys who really should get the belt yet they turn that into a problem by thinking that everyone wants to see Jeff Jarrett vs Sting in another rehash from WCW circa 1999 and even TNA circa 2003 (and they must fued by the TNA bylaw that states all newcomers with name value must either immediately fued with or immediately allign with Double J).

Samoa Joe is getting over huge as an asskicker (and apparently had a great match with AJ Styles), Christian is without hyperbole the biggest acquisition in company history, and Monty Brown should have won the belt last year around this time, but this damn company is still running Jeff Jarrett out there to have overbooked main events with anyone that they think has any shred of "name value". This is without mentioning that Abyss, Styles and plenty of others would be more compelling on top than these guys.

TNA has some great matches, and I think Impact on Spike TV has been worlds better than the glorified infomercial they were running on FSN. Hell, I was watching a few weeks back, and I was wowed by the great promo BG James had when Kip James joined 3LK. TNA has what sometimes feels like an honest to god wrestling show rather than a sports entertainment television program, but if they don't get their act together and start moving in the right direction in some key areas, I don't see how they expect to do anything more than fill the niche they fill right now.

I've resurrected your response to "I'd like to start the rumor" just so everyone can enjoy your idiotic response that gives the appearance that you didn't even read his post before you responded to it with your usual "wit." Don't say I never did anything for you before I got tired of your crap and banned you.

If TNA is still booking based on Spike surveys, Sting is the best name out there to capture that WCW-leaning audience. Flair and Hogan are both with WWE (and Hogan burned them before). Savage is Savage. Warrior is Warrior. Bret's out of action. Steiner's a proven dud. Unless they could sign Goldberg, Sting is the biggest name from the heyday of the '90s wrestling wars. But as someone who grew up on NWA and WCW, Sting only gives me a mild curiosity.

He made his name fighting guys bigger, better, or faster than himself and somehow beating them: Muta, Vader, Nikita, Flair, Hogan. That's the kind of matches he needs to work in TNA. Put him against Samoa Joe, Monty, or Abyss.

Sigh. Color me underwhelmed (whatever color that is). If Sting really is as bad in the ring now as everyone says he is, then this is a move made by TNA just to help their standing with SpikeTV and nothing more. It might translate to increased ratings for a little while just because people will be curious and switch over. But once they realize this ain't the Sting they remember, the whole thing will be pointless.

And you know he's gonna be paid more money than most of the rest of the TNA roster. I just hope three months from now, Sting doesn't ask TNA management if they'd pretty please mind signing Sting's friend Lex Luger. He'd be another guy from the old WCW guys that I don't particularly care to see in the ring again.

Well, I'm not sure I'd say this is a great move, but I don't think it's bad either. Sting is a big name, one that doesn't need to hold the title. If anything this can give Jarrett something to do other than hold the title because a Sting/Jarrett feud doesn't need the title on the line.

It looks like Smackdown's going to be better than RAW for a while, I think. The management seems to only be able to pay attention to one brand at a time, and it's Smackdown's turn.
